  1. Seems like you joystick is fine (don't worry about the second base showing up in configurator, as you could see it's inactive). The issue is on the game side; maybe you have too many devices connected?
  2. You'll certainly get a free replacement if you'd fill up a service ticket with your local vendor.
  3. Here's a guide for flashing and calibrating your device. You could skip the flashing part if you already did it, but you'll have to reset to default and calibrate, otherwise the joystick would act up in games.
  4. GunFighter MKIII is the base. What grip do you have - Kosmosima/SCG, MCG PRO/U, KG12, F-14? It is extremely important to have your joysticks and rudders calibrated (with the native software, NEVER use Windows' joy.cpl!!!).
  5. For the rudders do this: run VKBDevCfg as Admin, click on the rudders name in the blue device list at the top, then click on the Tools tab. Click on the large Default button, then click on the Test tab, then Axes1. Click the Start Calibr button and press on the rudders left and right slowly. When done press the End Calibr button and the rudders are ready to get assigned in game. The other device needs calibration too, which grip do you have?
  6. Are they both devices using the same Black Box? Each with their own BB? Are they calibrated?
  7. Only the tabletop version without twist is out of stock. All other versions - tabletop with twist, short and long extensions with twist and without are in stock. In a few days the missing setup will show up.
  8. Do this: - check the Poll box on the right side, in Profile/Buttons/Physical layer; - click on the center button of the ministick you want to change; - click mouse on the cell that's lighting up on the chart (1, in the example below); - in the new window set that uSSw button as TempoB, instead of ButtonAlt (2); - click on its logical representation (3); - uncheck the Automappping box and send that button to 41 logical, so it won't interfere with existing buttons assignments (4); - click on the Set button to save changes (5); - now you should have on short press a regular button and on long press (3 sec) modes swapping between POV mode and axes mode; - try it in Test/Buttons before binding in game.
  9. The caps are removable and swappable, but just between the same kind of parts: ministicks to ministicks and HAT switches to HAT switches. Gladiator NXT base is reinforced plastic with a pincher mechanism and only 3 types of springs to adjust it; it is designed to have an unswappable grip. GunFighter base is all metal, accepts all VKB grips, comes with 4 sets of cams that could be swapped and 5 sets of springs of different strength that could be installed 1 or 2 per cam, offering lots of combinations for fine adjustment of the base response. Here's overhauling the NXT base vs taking the GunFighter base apart.
  10. MCG = M(odern) C(ombat) G(rip) The MCG Ultimate is the same shape with the MCG Pro, but with metal body with rubber inserts, swappable ministicks/HATs, upgraded components. If you want only HAT switches these are the qualifying grips: SCG Standard (on either NXT or GunFighter base), SCG Premium (on either NXT or GunFighter base; comes by default with a ministick which could get replaced with an included HAT switch), MCG Ultimate (pnly with a GunFighter base, comes by default with 2 ministicks which could get swapped with 2 included HAT switches). I posted 2 links in my first post, check them both to see how to swap ministicks/HAT switches on SCG and MCG Ultimate grips.
  11. Just to clarify - there are 2 VKB systems/lines: GunFighter and NXT. Gladiator NXT comes with a SCG grip and the grip is not swappable. The GunFighter is just the base, on top of which you'll need a grip: SCG/Kosmosima (Premium: 7 buttons, 3 HATs, 1 ministick ), MCG Pro/Ultimate (8 buttons, 3 HATs, 2 ministicks, 1 foldable trigger, 1 hand brake lever), F-14 (7 buttons, 1 HAT, 1 DLC wheel, 4 position switch, KG12 (3 buttons, 1 HAT). All HATS mentioned above come with 5 positions (with center push), except the one on the KG12, which doesn't have center push. SCG Premium grips are coming with an extra HAT which could replace the ministick. MCG Ultimate comes with 2 extra 5 ways HATs which could replace the 2 ministicks. The ministicks are working in 2 modes: POV and axes. Transition from a mode to another is through the center push button. The difference between the ministicks and HAT switches is that the last ones are gated; the ministicks feels like the ones on the gamepads.
  12. There's also a GFI to GFIII upgrade too. But this is only the electronics upgrade; there's also the top cover and boot upgrade, also the GFIII 4 sets of cams. The advantages of the electronics kit are higher speed transfer, silicone wires, improved connectors.
  13. Check if the wires are plugged firmly into the white connectors. If they move too much inside the connector they might lose contact temporarily, resulting in those spikes. A fix for this would be the latest electronics kit, which replaces all the electronic boards inside the base and the wires (except of those 3 coming from the base connector); it's out on stock as I can see, but it should get resupplied soon.
  14. Axis spiking is usually coming from a bad connection inside the base - just unplug the white connectors and plug them back firmly. While in there, check if there are no broken wires and if the wires are not getting caught by moving parts.
  15. Most probably hand brake not calibrated, please recalibrate following the guide.
  16. You're upset and it's understandable - sorry you've been through this, but from here to 'crap qc' is a long way: the rate of failures reported to the number of sales is minimal. The VKB products are designed in such way so the user could easily access the internals and replace/fix parts if necessary without sending them back and waiting weeks to get them fixed. Regluing the magnet, for example, is a 10 minutes job - would you prefer to send the joystick for repairs and wait for 2-3 weeks to have it back? I know this shouldn't have happened in the first place, but it did, like it could in any other product out there. I also don't agree with your 'horrible product support' statement; on the official forums, the Hotas Discord or Hotas subReddit people are usually getting customer support in just a few hours.
  17. Another thing to try before loctiting it: release the fastener, then while gently pressing on the grip tighten it back. This is just to make sure the grip is not rising before getting secured. Do the same with the grip and the extension.
  18. By default, the center push button of the ministick is just swapping modes (from POV to axes and back) with a short click. This function could be changed in the native software so a short click would be a button (regular button, which could get assigned in game) and a long click would do the POV-to-axes swap. Original function is Button Alt and the new function is TempoB.
  19. The POV function is default. Pressing the center button swaps it into axes mode (indicated by the small red LED turning on).
  20. The adapter kit would allow installing most of RevB grips: KG12, SCG both right and left hand, F-14. MCG Pro grip would work too, but the combination is not recommended as the grip is pretty heavy for Gladiator's gimbal. MCG Ultimate grip won't work as it's too heavy.
  21. Remove the PCB in front of the dry clutch, remove the bolt that's tightening the dry clutch and you'll have only the nylon pads hanging from one side. Push them back from the free side, they're elastic and will bend as much to allow squeezing something like a toothpick with a blob of Nyogel between the pad and metal barrel. Repeat a few times until there's a thin layer on the metal barrel; you don't need too much because the space is very tight and it will spill out when the pad will get back in position.
  22. This, unfortunately, is not possible. Position of the grip in relation to the base can't be changed.
  23. Gladiator MKII and Gladiator K are out of production. The NXT is the latest iteration for the most affordable VKB line of products. The new base has kept some elements of design from the original Gladiator base, but everything else has changed: the gimbal is different, made from more resistant materials, fiberglass reinforced. There are fewer and smaller PCBs inside and only 2 wires.
