  1. Premium version has an extra thumb hat (instead of a simple button on standard version), a ministick (instead of a hat) and a push/pull secondary trigger. It also comes with a spare hat that could replace the ministick, a button that could replace the thumb hat) and a cover for the secondary trigger, in case the user wants to remove it.
  2. MCG/MCG Pro are perfectly compatible with the Gladiator K base; there's even an updated firmware that would allow running the MCG grip on the Gladiator K base. The problem is that the MCG and MCG Pro are too tall and their head is too heavy for the Gladiator K base, which runs on plastic gimbal and soft springs. Combo is not advised, but also not forbidden :)
  3. Here you go: http://ftp.vkb-sim.pro/Documentations/VKB-Sim_Gladiator_MkII.PDF
  4. If you mean by that that you have to push too hard on the grip to move away from a certain point and getting uncontrollable oscillations because of that, then no, not true at all.
  5. The purpose of connecting a joystick and the rudders at the same Black Box is to create toe brakes by combining their axes. So connect both your joystick and rudder to the same Black Box, flash it to the latest firmware, reset it to default and calibrate it (include the rudders in the calibration too). This should make them work together. Pay attention at the firmware you're flashing as they are different for orange and black Black Boxes (firmware for black Black Box has an MK2 in the name of the file). The rudders won't show up in the device list of the configurator if you choose to combine them through the same BB. The only grip from VKB lineup that won't work with rudders without some extra adjustments is the MCG Pro grip WITH twist module (too many axes). Check VKB's youtube page for flashing and calibrating procedure. Only the grip has to be flashed, if the rudders are in the same BB they don't have to be flashed or used in combination with extra software.
  6. Because other systems are out of VKB's control and they can't guarantee that it'd work on anything else other than VKB products.
  7. By default, with the red LED off, the ministick is a HAT with 4 ways (could also be programmed to 8 ways) plus short push. Longer push turns the red LED on and also switches to axes mode. So basically, by long pressing on that ministick you switch from buttons to axes and back.
  8. +1 for not try to drill to enlarge the hole. Have you tried to swap the locking cylinders from the grip to extension? If it still doesn't work try this: insert the end cylinder (the one with threads) from the left side of the grip until the cutout meets the shaft inside; hold it with your finger. Insert the other cylinder with the screw from the right side and tighten the screw. At the end both cylinders are supposed to get inside the hole; if any cylinders sticks out at the end it means it's not properly locked.
  9. Change POV Type to LoRes4w in Profile / POV panel. Then press on the Action tab and hit the Set button to save the changes.
  10. Try to re-seat the grip on the base. Would also help if you'd clean up the 3 contact pads on the base with a bit of cotton and alcohol.
  11. I wouldn't get worried if the files would've come from ED servers, but it seems like the installer is torrenting the files and I'm not sure if the servers hosting those are reliable.
  12. Virus detected in Open Beta exec Tried to install the Open Beta last night; Malware Bytes is marking the exec as Ransomware/Trojan. I let it delete the file and repaired though DCS software. Same result. Any clues?
  13. Follow the guide (link with timeline: ) to make the axis visible. Also check the zconfig.ini file (in the same folder where the configurator is) if it contains these 2 lines: Test Misc Enabled=1 under [Common] and User=Devloper under [user]. If they're not there just add them up and save the file.
  14. No, they actually have the same connector, RevB (3 pins on the grip, 3 connector pads on the base). But the MKIII has improved electronics with higher speed and less wires inside the base, new 4 sets of cams (Avia hard and soft centering and Space hard and space centering), new set of springs, LED on the case, upgraded case and dust cover.
  15. The original #10 (soft detent) and #30 (hard detent) are what it's called a 'progressive load' type of cam. From the new MKIII set the Avia-S (soft detent) and Avia-H (hard detent) are similar with them (but not the same). The new Space-S (soft detent) and Space-H (hard detent) are considered linear cams.
  16. You have a connection problem - either clean up the contact pads on the base or check again the connections you've made.
  17. GFII came originally with 2 sets of cams, hard and soft detent, both with progressive load. GFIII comes with 4 sets of cams, avia and space, both with hard and soft detent. Avia set is similar with the original GFII set, except of the material built with. Space set is brand new and yes, it is what you're looking for, linear, without that aggressive curve at the end of range. LE: Actually the new GFIII Avia set (Soft and hard) is different from the original #10 and #30.
  18. There are a few options helping the grip centering perfectly: - use the hard detent cams (#30); - use stronger springs (a min. of 1x30 or 2x20); - loosen the dry clutches completely; - use a wider deadzone. In your case, if you're using the same cams and springs on both axes and only the X axis has issues returning to the center it could mean that the damper on that axis is too tight. Here's a video showing how to replace cams and springs on a GF MKII base; I linked to the time when the dry clutch is adjusted: There are also people preferring a very sensitive stick so they use light springs (#10 or #20) and soft centering cams (#10); in these cases the grip won't be returning to center by itself, you have to push it there. Also, you could program a button in VKBDevCfg - press it and the respective axis drops to 0. Link for this variant: http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3653
  19. VKB is close to releasing their own mounting system, not only for HOTAS, but keyboard, mouse, phone, tablet etc also.
