New Build... should i get haswell????
SAM77 replied to SAM77's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Looking at the haswell price I thought what if I tried a 3770k. 1. i7 3770k 8GB G Skill Sniper MSI Z77 G45 Gaming ---> $700 2. i7 3770k 8GB G Skill Sniper Asus Maximus Gene -----> $760 for around the same price as a haswell rig I can get a 3770k system. What do you think???? Should I still go for the haswell or pony up a lil bit and stick with Ivy????? -
New Build... should i get haswell????
SAM77 replied to SAM77's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ok having seen some reviews its a bit hazy whether I should go for a haswell setup. Using parts in my sig I need to build a new gaming/music production system. I don't plan on overclocking right away but i do intend to at some point. I have three options, just need some help deciding. 1. i5 3570k 8GB G Skill Sniper Asus Maximus Gene -----> $650 2. i5 3570k 8GB G Skill Sniper MSI Z77 G45 Gaming ---> $590 3. i5 4670k 8GB G Skill Sniper Asus Maximus Hero -----> $740 There is new case included in the prices for each option. -
Hi guys need some opinions on this new build. Looking at 3570k 8GB G Skill Sniper Asus Maximus Gene Questions Should I wait for haswell and prepare myself for bugs and problems or go with the tried n true Ivy platform???? From reading forums 8GB seems adequate. Is this still true??? All other components will be made up from the old PC. I got a new psu already. No sli n no crossfire. PC only used for gaming and music production.. Your thoughts much appreciated. My thinking is to wait for Haswell to drop prices on the Ivy CPU n mobo. Thanks in advance

ED's move into WWII simulation - a newcomer's perspective
SAM77 replied to MACADEMIC's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Yes Yes Yes Please ED fill that void and many IL2 guys will leave and run here. I use to play IL2 religously but once BS came out that soon stopped and I couldnt go back. BS2 is here and I am loving it. I cant wait for the P51 and maybe somewhere down the line we get a late model german fighter and a couple of AI bombers (B17 n B24) ED I truly believe that there is a big financial gain to this and as previous posters have mentioned the void needs to be filled -
Oh yes please the DORA :)

The end of free PC hardware market in Europe.
SAM77 replied to Pilotasso's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Its not looking good for any country that doesnt have a strong manufacturing sector or resource sector. Its gonna get a whole lot worse for those guys in the coming months. S&P downgraded France credit rating France has better eco creds than the UK Being in the EU is dragging them down and Germany is not going to let that happen to them.... -
My 19in LCD 1280 x 1024 is getting fixed and I got a problem with what to do and what to choose. Samsung is covering labour but I will have to cover parts. I havent got a price yet but will get one soon. How much should I shell out to fix it if I can get a new one 2 options Samsung 21.5in S22A300B 1920 x 1080 =====> $170 delivered Samsung 20in S20A300B 1600 x 900 =======> 155 delivered Secondly if I get a new monitor Which one do I choose??? I was leaning towards the 20in 1600 x 900 because of my AMD 5770 Not planning on buying a new vid card (6870 is $200) until I build a new rig and that wont be anytime soon. Can pick up a 2nd 5770 for $100 to crossfire to take on the extra res of the 1980 x 1200 (does the crossfire help out in DCS with that????) I am willing to part with the money for the Xfire novelty as well but only if it works and doesnt drop performance like I have read. I should get the 1920 x 1080 and turn down the settings but wanted to know if there were other positives or negatives. Many Thanks in advance

jpm1 you rock for the vids thanks man!!!!!!!! Godzilla the new King!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just love how its so composed on takeoff. Its unnatural lol

Huntsman are nothing to worry about. You get them from time to time. Have had one in my car whilst driving not much smaller than the example shown in your vids. They are ugly lookin buggers and even though I know they are harmless i stopped as quickly and safely as i could to get the bugger out. In houses they will usually hide in the corners of your ceiling. Givin you a quick wtf!!! when you turn the light on. Harmless!!! chase away with a broom they are not aggressive in anyway to humans unlike the funnel web which when provoked will let you know it wants to kick your ass. We have redback (black widow) and funnel web which are way more nasty. They are the two baddies that all schoolkids know to stay away from. The funnel web is the baddest and you have to be extremely stupid (stick your hand in holes hence the name funnel etc...) or just unlucky to get bit by one. Spiders in general i dont worry about but cockroaches my god i will run like a woman for the baygon then become Colonel Kilgore when I am armed. But it still sucks for me cause i hate the bug spray smell and try and use the least amount possible. (If it kills them it cant be good for you)... F*#%^& roaches

In the faq the release date (May) for the boxed version has passed for Australia. Just wondering approx how much time I have to tweak my pc to run DCSA10
-
Yeah!!! When you explain it like that it is easier for me to understand the enormous amount of work Imagine if you wanted subs as well. Theres just too much to do, too much money involved and not enuff computing power at affordable prices for the consumer. Wish I could be born 50 years from now. It could be the reality for the kids of 2070.

I'm confused. Was taught that air(gas) and water(liquid) are both classed as fluids. Behave the same hence fluid dynamics covers aero and hydro???????

Isamu from Macross Plus (avatar) 77 Is a number that has been lucky and bad 4 me but it sticks out to me for some reason. Isamu77 from my IL2 days. On comms people started using SAM for short because E-Sa-Mu was a bit long. I decided to use Sam77 for all the Eagle stuff and use Isamu77 for IL2 (dont play any more)or SOW when it gets here.
