I have not seen this reported before. Many times on a head to head engagement my Sparrow or Sidewinder will destroy a enemy within 5 miles, their aircraft is in flames and Jester will call out Bandit at X O'clock. While this is not a critical delay it impacts immersion. If DCS is providing a message that the enemy aircraft is destroyed - why can't Jester simultaneously acknowledge the kill?

Thanks for the response. Since it seems feasible, I think many of us would find value in having this information without doing the required math. Appreciate your support on this.

Is there a command that we can give Jester to simply udate the Pilot with the current Target Altitude. Perhaps it is there now? If not, this would be very useful. A simple keybind command and Jester UI change would be great.

I can’t believe no one is having FPS issues with this module.
lennycutler replied to Wood's topic in Bugs & Problems
I previously reported that a get low..low...fps in some of the standard quick missions for the Phantom. This did not occur before the last update. I never get this problem when I create my own missions. I think some of the Quick Missions need to be re-compiled, or some other optimization needs to occur. When I get a slow slide show, I notice that my GPU shows very little utilization. Very abnormal, and I have no clue why. -
I tested the free flight mission for the F4-E on these 3 maps and I get low, low FPS, under 15 FPS consistantly since the latest update. I deleted and recreated the shader and FXO folders, to no avail. Only happens since the update with the F4-E on Instant Action Missions for only these maps. Note: I don't Falklands, Afgan. Has this been observed and reported by anyone else?

Update's broken the Spitfire Throttle (Fixed)
lennycutler replied to Slippa's topic in Bugs and Problems
Had this issue, fixed it on most by clearing the entry, and using the button for default binding, but had some persisant ones, but when I cleared it, then closed the file with the entry empty, then exited the program, and re-started the program, I was able then to enter the correct binding in the blank field and it took correctly. This drives me nuts, although it has been rare - would luv to know what DCS suggests we do if we encounter this again. -

Yes this started happening to me yesterday. I was able isolate the file and move it from quarentine to its correct folder manually. Ran a full scan, with nothing detected....using BitDefender. The culprit is AV8B_CPT.dll...so I am for now assuming that BitDefender is in error....and that just recently an updated virus signature file had this false positive in it. I assume this will be impacting other DCS users, who at least are using BitDefender.

Understanding CAGE-only with Sparrows
lennycutler replied to wasserschorle's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Just tried the same mission several times using a Mig=19P - As long as I counted out 4-5 Seconds before I launch the Sparrow, I hit the Mig-19 consistantly - at about 9 miles from the point I pressed the trigger. Seems like a winning technique to me even if a regular lock on the target is more ideal. -
Understanding CAGE-only with Sparrows
lennycutler replied to wasserschorle's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
I have tested the Sparrow with the following and get consistent Sparrow hits, with a Orbiting large Aircraft. 1. Heater Selected 2. Cage Pressed 3. Radar Scan shows a Vertical Bar 4. Select Sparrow 5. Keep the target in the Hud Pipper 6. Fire Sparrow. I do not use the CAA button, and my hits are on the target at 8 miles from my aircraft. I assume this is a correct method of using Flodd mode - and seems better than attempting to use the CAA button method. Not sure if this is the intended behavior by Heatblur. -
I have repeated attempts to have my Flight attack an object, first as an Anti-Ship attack....(Ship).....and also as a primary objective. In each case the AI will drop their bombs, but although they run in to attack with their remaining weapons they do not release their rockets....even when specifically requested to engage with Rockets. I suspect the AI programming has not be completed to enable their use of their new rocket capability.

I just confirmed the bug is still there in the Channel map on a quick mission p-47 intercepting FW-190A8s. I would hope the community would receive a comprehensive response from ED as to what the status of this bug fix is....what steps have been taken to address it, and what remains. As others have noted....this kills immersivenes and considering how long it has existed one has to wonder why more effective resources have not been applied to the problem....it is likely reducing sales of modules and interest in DCS World.

This is an extremely significant Bug. It occurs on all maps, in cockpit or external views, and seems not to be improved by Nvidia driver settings or internal DCS graphic settings. I thought it might be occurring when the graphics card was at maximum usage, but it occurs on my Nvidia 1070 even when only half of video memory is being use. I am using Windows 7, 16 Gigs of RAM. This does not happen outside of DCS....nor is it improved by going back to a default Video card clock speed.

Landing approach to Al Assad Airport in the Mig 21 starts off at 60 FPS and steadily drops to single digits. I tried this with a Mig 29 and there was no reduction in FPS. I have no clue why this happens in the Mig 21 and I have not tried to see if the poor performance occurs in other modules. See mission attached Mig21 Al Assad Landing Approach from the East.miz

I had the same problem, but I removed most mods including the Edge 340. That fixed it. You can copy your Mod folder to the desktop as a backup. Then eliminate one by one the Mods in Aircraft and Tech that may be suspect. That is how I determined the most likely culprit. PS...I did a repair prior to trying this, with no ill effects.

[BUG] can not open debriefing file error
lennycutler replied to captain_dalan's topic in Bugs and Problems
Debrief Dead Yes, same problem for me so far in all my F14 missions. -
It could be that your anti virus program blocked this file from being used....that is what happened to me....until I gave it explicit instructions to allow using the file, and made sure to have it list the DCS World directory as an exception to the scanning process.

Bit Defender Issue I had this problem also, but I checked my Exception settings in Bit Defender, and added my Eagle Dynamics directories...and told Bit Defender to allow for the movement of the particular .dll file it was flagging. I then did a repair, and all is fine now.

Black Shark 2 Key Error I reported the same issue above, but found this link about replacing the key by using the BS1 Key. Luckily, I still have my boxed CD of BS1 with the original key information on the manual.' So I followed the instructions and amazingly, I was advised upon starting DCS Beta again, in the module manager, that I now could install BS2. I did so, and now I have the correct key and everything works. I also did the same procedure for the stable version, and it too is now working with the new key for BS2. Clearly, the instructions on how to handle this situation could have been part of the Update Notes. But, glad it is all OK now.
