  1. Definitely not fog. I can't say 100% that it wasn't ice, because I haven't seen it yet, but it happened at ~5000 ft AGL and immediately after being hit. I wish I had gotten a screenshot of it.
  2. I was damaged two nights ago and was shocked to see that my canopy cracked. Did they just add this, or have I just not seen it?
  3. Not according to Chuck's Guide, page 169 (emphasis mine): "If Laser Designation Mode is set to AUTO, laser will remain in LSR (Laser Ranging) mode and fire only when a weapon is launched. If Laser Designation Mode is set to MAN by toggling the AUTO/MAN OSB, laser will fire immediately in LSD (Laser Designate) mode." I rarely use MAN mode, but from what I recall, which isn't a whole lot, Chuck is correct.
  4. Doesn't turning on MAN immediately turn on the laser though? If so, then #2 isn't conclusive.
  5. My own anecdotal evidence suggests that it is, in fact, reducing the burn through range by roughly 10%. I have not taken the time to quantify that though.
  6. Last question: there's also an OAP setting: ON or OFF. If you set it to ON, where does that offset data come from? I know there's an OAP button on the UFCP, but I don't understand how the two work together. I'm asking all of these questions, by the way, because I'm putting together a quick-reference process document, which I will, of course, share with you all. The more accurate and complete I can make it, the happier you all will be. :)
  7. Also, regarding the FUZE setting, you can choose DIRECT or DELAY. How much of a delay is applied with the DELAYED setting? That's to allow it to penetrate a target before detonating, correct?
  8. When configuring your laser-guided weapons, you can specify mode: DIR, or AUTO. I understand that AUTO = CCRP. Does that mean that DIR = CCIP?
  9. I thought it said STBY when it was ready, and JAM while activated and jamming.
  10. Here's your cookie! :thumbup::lol:
  11. >If you press the NAV mode, it will set the NAVIGATION layout for the pages, if you change them, it will be saved as that in the memory of the plane... Do you know if that statement is also true for AG and AA modes?
  12. I'm seeing the same bug.
  13. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. The other half is not being a douchebag.
  14. Welcome to the club! I lost count of the tankers I've shot down in frustration! One thing I started doing lately that has improved my tanking a TINY bit, however, is to never keep the stick still, even if I think I'm on target. I liken it to driving. If you pay attention, your wheel never really stops moving; you're constantly making micro-adjustments. So, even when I think I'm smack dab 100% on the money, I continue to do those micro-adjustments, and it has resulted in marginal increases in stability. You might consider trying that and seeing if that helps you. There's also autopilot. I find that it's a liability in the Hornet, because stick dampening feels inconsistent, but the dampening in the 17 feel a little softer (?) and more predictable, so maybe it would work better in that. And who knows...maybe engaging attitude hold is SOP for 17 drivers (if you care; I don't).
  15. Yeah, I tried pasting WPT 00 into 59, and still got the EE message. Oh wait...can you not copy WPT 00? EDIT: Oh wait, I missed the part about 51-58. So the only thing you can copy into 59 is 51-58. Makes sense. Sorry for the mix up.
  16. Whenever I select 59, it gives me an EE warning. I can't select it, or copy coordinates into it.
  17. Speaking of the patch, what does this line mean: Improved C701 and WMD7 camera track stability
  18. Screen shot It's still WIP, but I'm liking what I'm seeing. It appears that each list title will blink if there are any tasks incomplete. OSB U3 cycles between Cold, Taxi, Flight, and Landing, but there's no functionality hooked up to it yet. The eight system pages that do exist appear to be part of the Cold set of checklists. This is all observation and speculation on my part though; I haven't seen any official information yet.
  19. Way to go Deka!! I figured MAYBE we'd get static checklists, but there's no way we'd be able to manually check things off as we go, and ABSOLUTELY no way for the system to automatically update the lists in real time...but look at you go! Outstanding! I owe you folks a beer! :worthy:
  20. Yeah, I agree, but it's a tough pill to swallow when you've been spoiled on other pods that can ground stabilize/point track from 15 million miles out.
  21. If that happens again, you might try slowing to under 300 knots and attempting to raise the gear again. If it's only drag preventing it from raising, that should work, but not if there's physical damage.
  22. Try engaging Attitude hold after you've rejoined. It dampens stick input. 3 2 1 Yes, I know a real man can do it without autopilot. I'm a fake man.
  23. Can someone please explain to me what "auto-pilot based on FPM" means?
  24. Are you saying that, by waiting to engage the missle's radar, you're reducing the risk of it selecting an unintended target? By the way, according to Chuck's Guide, CC kicks on at 25km, which is 15 miles, not 10.
