  1. Oh - that makes sense! Thanks.
  2. Just saw this Tweet from ED - "KC-135 now has bubble wrap." What does that mean???
  3. DCS:BS is a "stand-alone" sim just like DCS:A10 - buy both while you're at it -- both are the best sims on the market today... Note to ED - sales pitch here ;-)
  4. Thanks, I remember that thread .. haven't seen it in awhile.. But, I'd really like to see the F-15E... just hoping... :smilewink:
  5. I like this solution too (the "ptt switch on the Warthog throttle") and/or the Mouse option (for those who don't have a HOTAS Warthog). My .04 cents.
  6. An excerpt from this Q/A of the DSC:A10 Review with Wags http://www.gamingshogun.com/Article/8965/DCS__A-10C_Warthog_Review_-_PC.html 3) Any hints on what aircraft you guys are planning to simulate next? A) The next DCS aircraft will be a fixed wing US fighter. ======================================================== My guess is the: F-15E Anyone else wanna guess?
  7. I use the Pinky Switch + Stick L/R (aka Aileron) action to control the rudder
  8. Try matching the checklist with the Startup Training Mission and see if there's anything missing. I'm not personally aware that anything is missing ... there have been many startup checklists posted by other users during the Beta days... try a search for that too. Also, when you go to work - aren't you supposed to work and not study A-10C checklists??? LOL j/k Enjoy!
  9. True that!
  10. In Win7 - Goto the Control Panel | Uninstall a Program - find DSC A-10C and the version will be in the last column...
  11. WarriorX, Thanks so much!!! I just totally forgot where to set that View option... damn I'm getting Old!!! Thanks again for the quick reply!
  12. Need help - Setting the "Friction" slider to the View Zoom on my TM HOTAS... Only done it 4 times now, but for some reason I just can't remember -- old age IS a factor here ;-) ... I just can't remember where to configure it... Detailed instructions would help (if possible) Thanks !!!! U guys are the greatest!!!
  13. Yep, True That! Edit: Didn't realize "mavylex" is in Francais... my bad...
  14. >>Damn I wish I was an A-10 pilot! Don't we all!! However, if you're under the age of 30 and have 4-year degree - u can apply for OTS (Officer Training School) then apply for UPT (Under-Graduate Pilot Training) and hope to get assigned to A-10's... Of course, that's info that I know of from the 80's [early 90's] -- not sure if requirements have changed since then. But, there's always the chance.... GL
  15. Thanks -- I never knew he made General - and I'm not surprised either...
  16. The 1st A-10A kill was from Capt Bob Swain using his GAU-8 as he couldn't attain a lock with the AIM-9 due to the background temp and how low the helicopter was ... if I recall correctly. I used to work with him when he flew O-2A's at Patrick AFB, FL - then became a Guardsman or Reservist (I think he left Active Duty to be a American Airlines Pilot [don't remember]) -- great guy and very easy to work with... long time ago....
  17. Lobo is correct - there are plenty of aircraft that don't have the capability to pump fuel when inverted in a Neg-G situation .. not sure if it apples to the more current F-16/18/15/35/22 fighters - but the "older" aircraft do have that limitation -- if you read the appropriate [for the aircraft]its Dash-1 it will have a "Warning" item that mentions the limitation. Just speakig from experience ... ex-USAF... But, how cool is it that it's implemented? !
  18. Thanks so much for the quick reply!!! Sounds like promising news.
  19. What does it say? Just the basic info pls....
  20. Yep, we have to "give-and-take" where necessary... Remember, we're really not the boss LOL!@
  21. That is freaking awesome!!!! The best looking rig I've seen so far... My wife would kill me if I tried to set that up in the Living Room (which is where I have my setup now - dining room table)... Love it!
  22. Not sure what's more dangerous - being a Maintainer (crew chief) or a "Stick actuated Operator" [AKA Pilot] - both jobs are very dangerous... j/k Hope the new BetaXX will be out soon - something to look forward to anyway...

  24. Then having to safety-wire anything in that cold was always a real PITA -- hard to do "properly" with gloves on...
