I'd heard this one as "Biggles, the RAF ace," but Pierre will do just as well :D

Great link, zakobi :D

Honestly? By the looks of it I'd rate it yet another anti-Russia piece of shite. "So it goes a little like this. We're like, y'know, chilling and all and then the Russian dudes show up shooting everyone and everything and blowing everyone up and yeah, just like that. But it's like, life y'know? What can you do about it..." I'm not Russian and I'm not too into the politics practiced around these corners but fact is, as bumfire said, it looks retarded.

Carly Simon, now available in rock edition.

Was actually thinking Pink Floyd, either Comfortably Numb's lyrics or Is There Anybody Out There itself. Oh, The Wall... :D

He could be many things, but not dumb. It's quite easy to deduce that he's worth more alive for billions of reasons, from PR to Human Rights, and I wouldn't be shocked if he guessed that one too. Leaving no other option to the SEAL team and making one last fuss before giving up the ghost is something I'd quite expect him to do. If you can't win, the least you can try to do is to rain on the victor's parade, simple logic in any game, and it doesn't take a genius of a journalist to spread the fun-breaker to the masses. By celebrating his death as a FIFA World Cup Final late goal and claiming it was the right way etc etc you're just supporting their effort in leveling moral grounds between "us" and "them". How, when or even if aren't a crucial matter in the large scale of things - undercover organisations are usually trained and organised in a way that allows every small branch to operate independently to a fair extent. He's indeed the head of the organisation, but so is Queen Elizabeth the head of state the United Kingdom. All the information surrounding this operation, the preparation and its aftermath is the same as nothing, just blurry contradictory gibberish from unofficial sources, and sometimes even from official sources. It doesn't matter what's actually truth and what isn't, this is just a game of propaganda, it's all about who's more convincing. Even if we do hear the truth, how can we possibly confirm that it is actually the truth? Each person will believe in whatever they want to, it's forum/pub table speculation brought to a bigger, better illustrated scale. It's a great way to see how "human" people are. Up next: Osama Bin Laden was hiding in Alderaan and was killed accidentally during a Death Star live fire exercise.

That Tu-154 video... Wow. :shocking: I've been to harsh landings (killer wind scissors and a tiny twin-engined transport - fun) but that's just beyond anything I could ever imagine. And not only the aircraft took the roller coaster ride in one piece, the pilot managed to bring it down. Safely. Unbelievable. -
Mean, but yeah:

I'm afraid to tell you that it's nothing more than a rumour, and a very old one. The government, in best Brazilian fashion, decided to postpone the announcement of the decision... again. As far as I remember there's no real prospect for the announcement of the decision, so once more we're left without any proper information on the subject. On the other hand, the big names have been pretty quick in starting negotiations for two A330-MRTT. One with a VIP area. Just to carry the president around. Nevermind the A319 they acquired in 2005. They are obviously in a desperate need to upgrade, how could they even stand flying in an aircraft that's six years old? To do so would be unhuman. And people still think we're a serious country... -
No dates or any strictly precise information was released, so accusing anyone of manipulating information is pretty childish. To me, the only ruling fact is "Osama Bin Laden is dead", anything else is indeed believable but not to be taken as fact unless strictly said so by trustable sources. And I'm afraid that, after that dodgy covering of the events in Fukushima, there aren't that many of those left. Just my 2p.

Maths 101: "Little Johnny got kicked out of class today! The teacher asked him, "if I gave you 20 pounds and you paid 5 to Joanne, 5 to Jane and 5 to Katie, what would you have?" Apparently, "three blowjobs and enough left for a kebab" was the wrong answer." :D

Awfully sorry for your lost, Yuya. Best wishes to you and your family, may your uncle rest in peace.

True, but it's asimetrical thrust at low speed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's very likely to end up as a very ugly stall, I think. There's a crash in Brazil where a pilot was flying a propeller-driven EMB-120 Brasilia as far as I remember, set the engines to reverse in-flight, lost an engine, ended up in a snap stall at low altitude and crashed, no survivors.
-
Wouldn't guess it to be something very advisable at all though. Anything happens to an engine and you're pretty much f***'d - a nice stall with no altitude, no?
-
Just in case, the quality is a tad better in this one, for anyone interested:

No bloody idea. But you know, turned out to work quite well :D

I'd kill for a Tiger.

Where are the cannons of these aircraft?

Huh. Right. I need to sleep. Badly. -

Don't think the Avenger has any. Those covers have been around for a fairly long time - for instance, you can see them clearly in classic British designs such as the eternal Spitfire and Hurricane, in this particular case a layer of red fabric. Basically it's just teared open and that's it. -
:megalol: AWESOME website, found it from a friend :D: http://www.fubiz.net/2011/03/30/dear-blank-please-blank/

...and the band never quite managed to record it. One of my all-time favourites, simple yet brilliant. You can't not love Bowie... R.E.M., featuring Thom Yorke. One of the coolest romantic songs I know. Smashing. Catchy.
