  1. OOPS.. Sorry for the Post/Thread. First of all, it's under "Engage/Disengage Route Mode" .. not AutoPilot ..etc. But more importantly is the fact that for whatever reason, my hotas button is not working correctly. If/When I push it hard enough, Route Mode DOES engage/disengage. But I find it odd that I have to press it so hard. But that is my own problem and NOT an issue with the Ka-50 or any patch/update. Sorry Folks.
  2. It has been a while since I last flew the BlackShark but I haven't changed my Hotas Settings/Profile. I always had my Hover Hold and Route Mode settings programmed to a specific toggle. But today I noticed that Route mode did not engage. In fact, when looking in the Controls, I don't even see Route Mode as an Auto-Pilot Option anywhere anymore. I did have my waypoint selected and the necessary Auto-Pilot buttons selected ... but it simply appears that the Route Mode function doesn't exist any more. Can someone please shed some light on this for me ? What am I missing ? Did a recent patch eliminate Route Mode ?
  3. What OS are you using ? For that matter, what is your System's Specs (re: Mother board, Processor ETC) ? This information may be needed to resolve your issue.
  4. I agree with King Hrothgar. To me it seemed moot that a Powered USB Hub would make any difference but that in itself immediately eliminated ALL my issues with my new X-55 Rhino. Also, with regards to repetitive (random) keystrokes, you might simply need to double check that ALL the Thumb Wheels are put in their Neutral Detent Position (assuming you have programmed them at all). I have a several different HUD Profiles (X-55 Hud Software) for different DCS Mods/Aircraft. Of these, I have created Bands for the Thumb Wheels/Rotaries. When I close out DCS, if any of these Thumb Wheels are not in their central/neutral position, I will get all sorts of Keystrokes or Icon Selections on my Desktop. Clearing those profiles from the Taskbar thingy, OR neutralizing those wheels, will stop the random keystrokes. But again, this is all assuming that you have first connected your HOTAS via a Powered USB Hub.
  5. Has the Server(s) been updated to match Today's DCS Update ? Some people are unable to jump in due to "Connection Interrupted" message. I'm guessing this is directly related to today's update.
  6. Trying to post my time.
  7. Finally, I am at least able to include a LINK (see previous post) to my screenshot. I have not been able to simply INSERT an image into any of my post attempts even though my screenshot is uploaded to 2 photo sharing accounts and the links/urls are good. Obviously I'm missing something. Anyway, I hope the above Image Link will suffice, let alone the pitiful Lap Time.
  8. I'm almost embarrassed to submit this time but its the best I could do without being bumped off the course by other pilots. LINK TO SCREENSHOT
  9. Hello again Shahdoh. While I still have to submit a Time with hopes of Qualifying (today if possible), I have found the Skin I'd like to use. I have been given permission to use a skin created and uploaded by Whiplash822 of DoW (Dogs of War Server) called "31st FS, 308th FG, Flying DUTCHMAN" . HERE is the Link as well as the URL. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/894409/
  10. Really ? You didn't think the way they Leaned into the Stick on the turns was realistic ? Or the way they were thrown from side to side on the turns looked real ? I AGREE !
  11. Very Cool skin and the history that goes along with it. Great Thread !
  12. Race Entry Application Hi Shahdoh I would like to register. I will PM my post times asap. Pilot Name: SnowTiger Mustang Livery: ANY (I have no idea what is still available but I'm not fussy).
  13. I hear you Ultra. I too have seen vacant servers when I go on. I think mostly because I am home all day while others are at work (or have a life !! LOL). If you check DoW's website, I'm pretty sure you'll find that they have a regular "furball" every Friday or Saturday evening (not sure which - have to check myself). In the meantime, I agree re: Mountain Convoy. I only flew that one once and really enjoyed it because it's super challenging bombing in those tight valleys. Anyway, since I am almost always home, I am often available all day but especially between 10am-1pm EST and would gladly hook up with you on there. You are welcome to PM me to make suitable arrangements to meet if you like ? Have a good one.
  14. Great Link/URL. I agree .. it appears to have tons of relevant information. Thanks for sharing.
  15. I'm not aware of any "special events" or out of the ordinary (Note > I am NOT a spokes person for Dow so I don't know Anything !!). However, it's fair to say that there are special events 7 days per week on each of DoW's 2 Dedicated Servers that run their well-made Custom Missions. The price is right ... ie FREE and the service is good (they keep their servers well maintained and running with very few and usually short delays or issues). PS> Again, I'm only guessing ... but it is possible that DoW might consider Special Events providing more people would consider Donating towards their cause, enabling them to create, set up and run events. Currently it's all volunteer and most of the Admins work for a living at their respective places of employment. So I encourage all those that enjoy frequenting DoW's servers to consider a donations as often as possible. In fact, I encourage ppl to donate to any servers/server admins they participate on. Of course, all of the above is purely My Opinions ONLY.
  16. Holy Crap do you ever come close to those railings etc. Nice flying Shahdoh. I have to tell you, having this Course has been a huge bonus for me while learning to fly. I continue to fly it regularly, but I haven't been able to come close to your time's yet. But then I haven't rev'd my engine quite as high yet either. In fact, I didn't know you could go that long like that without blowing it up !! Hopefully I'll do well enough to qualify though. Either way Thanks Again for creating this excellent Race Course. Chris aka SnowTiger
  17. My idea isn't to effectively change anything. Just the ability to customize Town and Airport names would be great just so we could create real world missions. I don't think geographic accuracy is necessary (at least not for me). But if I could rename a few of the existing cities I could create completely different missions based on other places on earth ... without having to do anything to the mesh. I get it though. It may well be easier said than done and give an inch and we might ask for a mile. I'm NOT complaining about anything now or about to in the future. I'm grateful for all that you have and will provide in future. But it seems to me that we can already ReName Air Bases ... Can't we ?
  18. Actually, I meant to include - the ability to ReName Towns/Cities etc as well .... in my last post. So YES to toggling LV as well.
  19. I thinks it's great that the Nevada map/terrain is being produced because that is a terrain/geology that is currently missing in the Caucus map. I can only hope that DCS World 2 will continue to allow us to ReName Air Bases to whatever we want AND it would be great if we could turn other Bases On/Off ... or ... even to be able to place and airfield wherever we want. By being able to turn Bases On/Off and/or to be able to relocate bases ... as well as re-naming bases allows us to create missions "Anywhere in the World" ... with a little bit of imagination.
  20. I also have ADSL but I have never gotten more than 0.8 MB/s !! That isn't a whole lot better than the Dial-Up bandwidth I got when I lived so far in the bush I had to come Out to go hunting !! Usually it's more like 0.5 .... either way it blows. It is annoyingly and painfully slow regardless of file size. When downloading Files (eg: User Files etc) from DCS Website, I/We can use Mirror Servers such as Eastern or Western USA. Those provide "normal" download speeds. But the DCS World Updates are extremely slow.
  21. I know this is an Ancient Thread/Post .. but it is still relevant IMO. Why is it that the best download speed I have ever gotten is 0.8 MB/s ? Other than Re-Purchasing everything via Steam or otherwise, without involving Steam at all (which I would prefer), is there ANY way to increase these ridiculously slow download rates ? PS> The Dial-Up era has long since past !
  22. I just finished uninstalling and reinstalling DCS World and All my Mods a couple days ago. Since then I have been trying to restore my Hotas Settings for Each Mod. I had previously saved each and every plane's Stick, Throttle, Rudder Pedals and TrackIR Profiles on a specific Hard Drive. Prior to Uninstalling everything, I actually made a copy of the folder that contains all those Profiles ... just to be safe. Each Plane's Profiles are saved in their own respective folder and all those folders are saved under a master (parent) folder. While trying to restore these settings using the standard procedures (at least as I know them) I have not been able to get them to take hold. I select Each Column and delete the Stock settings for each (including the AXIS command columns) and then I import each of the profiles into their respective columns. I can close out the Options and do whatever .. fly, exit World ... whatever .. and then come back into the Options and SEE all the Profiles and Settings in their respective locations AND if I press any button (Throttle/Stick .. whichever) that specific button or whatever shows up .. ie. obviously recognized in the Options. HOWEVER, when I double click on any/all of these there is NOTHING listed in the "Add Assignment Panel". If I then try to reset or reselect the button it shows that button is already taken ... of course by the correct setting/button but it does not show it in Red as being a Conflict. Nor should it. But the settings just don't stick in the Assignment Panel. When flying .. SOME of the settings work correctly and some don't. I just don't get it. I have done everything I can think of without any success. Has anyone else had this issue and managed to resolve it ? Anyone have a solution for me ? I'm going to scream if I have to start all over fresh with all these settings and profiles AGAIN ! PS> Oddly, none of my reinstalled mods have yet requested my Serial Keys ?? And I have been Online and successfully logged in and flown on a server last night (which I was previously unable to do .. hence the complete uninstall/reinstall).
  23. That's an interesting solution. If there was a Scoreboard for Individuals and Teams etc, similar to Battlefield's "Battlelog" which keeps track of all sorts of player information. Yes ... it would be great if the Log Book was working properly, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. As well, I own an "actual" Pilot Log Book (was my father's) in which I can keep track of my flight hours for each aircraft. The problem is ... that it's like Book Keeping for Taxes. I'm gung-hoe for the first few weeks and then I start letting it slide.
  24. I can't say for sure but I'm confident that the corrupt file issue is on the Provider's end of things. But then who knows. My first download was from a German Server (not sure why I did it that way ?) and my second attempt was from USA HTTP. My third (single file only) was from USA FTP. This latter download was successful. So whether it's the provider's side or something between there and where I am ... who knows ? I'm very sure it isn't anything on my end, but then I haven't been having much success with DCS lately. I have and did play lots of other online stuff (eg: Battlefield 4) but not since flying again. I was flying allot on the DoW Servers without issue but after a small DCS Update, I and a few others were unable to connect to DoW or any other Server. That's where I have been stuck for several months now and only now decided that I have to completely uninstall and reinstall. Until now, I have been reluctant to do that ... for obvious reasons (i.e. giant pain in the ... bum).
  25. Thanks for the reply. Since my post, I actually re-downloaded ALL of the Install Files and attempted installing again. Unfortunately, it wasn't until after I had downloaded all the files again that I received a program from DCS Tech Sup't that allowed me to check each of the files for corruption. As it turned out, the 1st .bin file was corrupt. So I downloaded that file again and was successful at reinstalling World and All but one Mod. I had BlackShark 1 from years ago and purchased the BS 2 Upgrade a couple years later. Unfortunately, that creates extra folders that are outside or (seemingly) independent of DCS World. I was under the impression that I should be able to install just BS 2 Upgrade "without" first having to install BS 1 but for some reason, the Mod Manager is insisting that I install BS 1 first. So I guess I will just have to find something else to fly for a while until there is another sale (after just missing one when I was prepared to invest more) so I can get the Full Version of BS 2 and not have to pay full price. So beside that, it appears everything is working correctly. I won't know if my original "Connection Interrupted" issue has been resolved until I have had a chance to update All my Mod "Input" files (which I was smart enough to save). In fact, I save ALL of my Saved Game files but I am going to copy those over to the new install "One at a Time" ... with hopes of not corrupting the new install !!
