Oh yes - the death of the flight sim - that's been going on now for how long? 12 to 15 years? God forbid a hard core sim with a clickable chickenpit is released - it will never sell. People do not want to sit and click switch's for 10 minutes to start the engine. Right......... We are in the midst of the "Golden Age of Flight Sims" NOW. And its only going to get better. Thank You DCS!

If anyone finds a builder selling working CDU's, please PM me. A squad mate and I are looking to purchase one each for our setups.

Hellfire257's idea is something I have done in the past when we were active in World War 2 Online, I had 5 squad accounts for squad mates down on their luck, so they could play. When they were back on their feet, they re-uped their account. If there is a member of my group who voices interest in a DCS module, I will gladly buy them a copy to get them interested in the sim if need be. For the time effort DCS puts into this sim and the enjoyment that is taken from it, the money is nothing. How many copies of Harpoon or LOMAC have some people purchased over the years? Its a way to support the product you love. People buy cars and have monthly payments of 300.00 to 2000.00 a month. A one time charge for a sim like this is peanuts.

The Pharoah - Your idea would give me many many sleepless nights! The squad I'm in used to play WW2 Online. Yes the graphics were not so good, the game was buggy, but there was freedom of movement, it was not just a jump in and go frag fest and everything was player vs player. You and your squaddies could go fly CAP, or if on the ground - set up an ambush and sit and wait for something to show up. Sometimes for hours on end. During this time we all developed some very strong friendships that have lasted to this day 10+ years later because of the time we sat around and BS'ed on TS waiting for something to show up. Now granted we were all in our early 30's and up, and this style of ply suited us just fine, its not for everyone. But its a great gaming experience that I have yet to get out of another game. The future of DCS, in my opinion can develop far beyond what we experienced in the old game. The developer's here are very active with improving the flight sim and will be / or a third party will be, just as detailed about a ground element in the future I believe. I have no idea on what will happen, but the environment you described would be so immersive it would be un-imaginable! I hope your crystal ball is working tonight! S!

Frank, How is it looking to sell the CDU units stand alone?? A squaddie and I are looking forward to purchasing a CDU unit for our set up's.

Does anyone here remember being a kid back when you had to go to the arcade and toss in your quarter to play a game?? What would you spend in a day? A week? DCSs products are worth every penny they charge for it. Whatever price they decide to sell a new module for, its worth the price they ask. Ill buy it.

Why are things not scaled correctly like infantry?
basset replied to Dudester22's topic in Object Errors
I think in time the infantry / ground element of the game will be fleshed out at some point. My idea on why it is like it is now - the ground element has not been a focus of the developer. Just an opinion. -
Me? No - Im looking forward to purchasing Franks CDU.

Myself and a squad mate have same idea on the CDU.

Russian style Stick : Defender Cobra M5 USB
basset replied to PeterP's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
An update: yes they have answered my post asking about shipping to USA for the MK21 rudder pedals, about 50.00 USD for shipping. And my mistake, the response is from person in Belarus, not Russia. Not sure where the shop is in Moscow, they do reply to posts to their forums, good place to ask. -

B&H Photo/Video, the price they offer seems to change daily, It started at 450.00 including shipping a few weeks ago and has been climbing since - now its at 479.99 Its strange. I guess since Amazon is at 499.00 they raising price, maybe I'm wrong, no idea the reason, really. Supply and demand.

Push her for the VKB rudder pedals Mk.21-3. She might kill you. :) But its worth a shot.
