Wow, just realized Gadroc, you are in ohio. What part? I would love to see how a sim pit looks in real life.

Only time you really need to be on the stick is during evasive maneuvers and some for targeting. The trim system is intended to be used for probably 90% of flight time.

go to hardware store and buy a 2" PVC pipe and 2 caps. Take WH off base plate and attach to PVC cap put cap on pipe. Bolt other cap to WH base plate and slide on pipe. You now have an extension for your WH. You can also easily rotate the grip for more comfort. I would connect the bottoms of the legs so they are all connected together like the seat base. They will be easy to snap off individually as is.

Nice to see Helios taking shape. Cant wait for it. Now I have to find a way to build a simple monitor pit as a desk will no longer work. Got a 22" touch all ready to go.

What is Platinum? Is it after FC2? Is it self contained or do I need to buy LOMAC, FC2, and then Plat?

I pay taxes. That is my contribution to the payment of the national debt. I vote for presidents that are not looking to give away money to people who do not work. Not my fault that the president lumped on another few trillion dollars in debt, I didnt vote for him. I do think we should charge for protection though. If Iraq and Afghanistan do not want to pay for our help, they must not really need it. The F35 should cut military spending when complete. Instead of needing parts and crew for at least 4 different aircraft, you only need 1 airframe. That would obviously decrease costs.

Much simpler flight models make it possible to have those graphics. More scripting and less AI also allow less CPU load.

I agree wind will effect direction. OP's second post states, "I do that everytime before going to hover so I think this is not the solution,my tail position(rudder) is in opposite of direction where my helo is going". I took that to mean physically. Wind will not physically move the hydraulic flight surface. Go into mission editor of affected mission. Set wind to 0 and refly.

Do you have a mission for this challenge?

Country has been through depression before. This one will not implode us either. Sorry I meant China so communist. Over the development time of the F35, the illegal aliens using our tax dollars from government programs has leeched more money than the F35 project most likely.

Yeah, weird that the pilot needs to take over to pickle the bombs, but can launch the A2A missiles just fine without going off AP. I have multiple windows and screens in my home computer and I have a single integrated mouse interacting with all them. I also have touch screens. So I have the same interface as the F35. What would be so difficult about a sim pit? Enemy is interacting with his gauges and MFDs just like the F35 pilot is. iPad can do one thing at a time. Fighter pilots need a bit more than that. Of course it is a lot more cluttered, there is a fighter jet connected to it, not some silly tablet game. No one attacks the USA because we have so many capable pilots and jets. What good is your SS if you are dead, or if a socialist country takes over? I dont think a pilot with a couple dozen flight hours makes a very effective combat pilot. Even sticking him in a sim to make up for the flight hours you docked him would not equal what normal fighter pilots are accustomed to right now. Sim time is great for learning systems, but is not so helpful when needing to interface with those systems in high G maneuvers.

.Net API Wrapper For Logitech G940 LEDs
power5 replied to MajkStone's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I would love to be able to have my LEDs change color when pressed. I use them for the aiming and AP in BS and have to check down to the actual panels a lot to see if they are pressed. I know nothing about writing software languages though so I need a GUI interface like the logitech profiler. I cant believe it has no LED functionality. Something simple. Press the button and it turns red, press again and it turns green. Or option 2 press and it turns off, press and it turns green/red. Or option 3 press and turns green, press and turns red, press and turns off. Simple. Only problem would be syncing with game. -
A10 were called in to take out the choppers in the search and rescue mission.

For those of us who just like a flight simulator!

Wow, you think you are actually killing someone in the game? -
Verifying correct procedure for taking aim
power5 replied to lineman55's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I just use auto turn to target button on aim panel. I get to hover pointing in general direction of target. Slew shkval around till I find my target. Lock on, then engage auto turn to target. Helo puts target in sight and I fire. Turn off button and find new target, or keep button on and helo will turn as you slew. -
I worked around the slop as well. Not that big of a deal to me. Its actually kind of nice at times as I can just press the stick slightly in the slop zone and am able to get the helo to slightly change attitude. Works nice when flying low and the ground starts creeping up. Just lightly pull back in slop zone and let go and stick stays and now helo is not on a collision course with ground. I would not go back to non FFB for BS.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
power5 replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I have only a vague idea of how radar works. Does the F35 show the pilot the launch location of where the SAM lifted off, or just where the radar signal of the SAM station is located at? So the pilot is looking at either the radar station (or decoy station) or he is looking at the point the SAM lifted off the ground. The latter being the better target point for his first JDAM I think. -
Only argument I have for you coolts is this. Yes, you get to learn the sim before hand. I have learned a lot of the systems but I only have maybe 20-40 hours tops in game. I am not trying to become an expert though. When the sim is released it will not have hundreds of new missions and campaigns. It will have many of the same missions and campaigns from the betas. So, if BS got boring after playing the same missions over and over, so will A10. Especially if you have already mastered most of the campaigns. So, you will have paid $60 for the beta and got most of the game under your belt before the unbugged retail version. You dealt with bad mavs, bad flir, bad gbu12s, bad PAC, bad EAC, bad canopy, bad seat height, and all the other bugs of the beta. Instead if you wait, you spend $60 to get the much less bugged retail version. You can dive right into the training missions without having to figure out what button needs to be pressed to get it to continue, or any headaches like that. Not to say I regret getting the beta though. Its just like buying most title's release versions on launch and fighting through the early adoption days of endless patches and hotfixes. Only difference is this is called a beta pre purchase bonus and not a launch day version. By the time both marketing options are smoothed out to perfection, you have beaten the game and done all the surprising and exciting things and all that is left is pwning noobs by camping on a sniper hill overlooking the spawn point. :D Again, not regretting my purchase, just posting my thoughts. They are mostly not worth the read so sorry if you spent your time reading. :P

Ahh but at least you admit it will hit it. Would hate to spend the money and miss the decoy. Just throw out a few more jdam and hit the SAM site as well. Does the F35 radar pick up the launch site or just the radar point? -

Did you watch the video? When you and your wingman's bubbles intersect, you are invincible. Cant wait to see the air quake servers if you can fire missiles backwards without any course deviation. -
I do not need to hold right mouse button to uncage. I simply hover over and scroll back. Should work if you do not have mouse look enabled.

I never had a single problem with vista 32. Never used vista 64 which was the one which supposedly had all the problems. I love win7 though. Main reason is no damn UAC and easier networking.

Awesome photos. I love old cold war imagery. Why is there a sub stuck in concrete?

Wind does not affect the rudder. From external view he is saying his rudder is not centered.
