Thanks for that I will try a higher setting later and see if I notice ant difference. it's hard to tel any difference with fps when locked at 45fps but I can notice the performance drop myself

Bignewy Do you get any sort of benefit from having the view distance on ultra? I have mine on medium and don't see any difference on anything higher apart from fps drop!!

Yes the 1.5 Beta has the missing trees, this is an installation without any mods, it was ok until the update I have the no tree shadow mod on the 1.5 and that's ok but I know this hasn't been updated. So it's not to do with the no tree shadow mod. I have also downloaded the 1.5 beta (up to date) onto my laptop and that has missing trees too, I fly a lot from Beslan and where you're parked up there is trees in front of you which standout a mile now there missing. I haven't seen them missing anywhere else as I fly the Gazelle a lot and that doesn't work at the moment so I haven't spent a lot of time flying, my jet seat doesn't work either think the sim shaker software doesn't like the update for some reason but that's for a different thread. I am now using 1.5 at the moment but as I use the Oculus rift I find for some reason or another the sim runs noticeably better on 1.5 beta so I hope things get sorted soon!!

Well yes and no!! I have a fresh installation on my laptop that I use for mission building and the trees are missing at Beslan airfield. I had the no tree shadow mod on my main computer and the trees were all present until I updated, the no tree shadow mod is also installed on my DCS World 1.5 and the trees show there too at the moment so it can’t be that

I have trees missing too!! have done a repair but they are still missing i have only noticed this at Mozdok airfield at the moment

I think you need num lock on as well when using the num keypad!!

This is confusing, if you go to the steam website you can get the Gazelle for £17.99 it's $49.99 in the DCS eshop!! I don't class this as a sale!!

V-sync does nothing, that is taken care of by the rift, if i select full screen it does nothing for me but if you want full screen L Alt + ent key will give you that although the screen is stretched. The full screen stops you from clicking out of the sim area which is a common problem in dcs when using the clickable cockpit, there is an option you can select in the VR tab to keep the pointer in the sim area but that doesn't work for me either

Can anyone give me some idea on how to use this mod? I have downloaded and installed into the relevant folders, I can't see the weapons in the load out section in the mission editor!! What am I doing wrong? (Found it now thanks)

If you like windows 7 you can run windows 10 almost the same as 7, if you install the windows 7 start menu app and use the 7 style desktop you'll never know the difference

I don't notice too many artifact issues, if I fly in areas that are to demanding I get wobble on the graphics so I avoid areas like that. It may not be perfect but it's night and day for me, my system isn't too bad i7 4790 @ 4.8g 1070 GTX, 1TB SSD, but it struggled, I couldn't have shadows on at all but now I can have shadows on medium and it looks and runs great. I also seem to be able to fly from most airfields with out any problem, I couldn't do that before. The only time I get micro stutter as you described was when I had the pixel density to high or flying over wooded areas, i have tree shadows turned off and use 1.8 PD and don't seem to get stutter

This has worked great for me I can't believe the difference!!! I had the graphic settings so it was acceptable but could only fly missions from Batumi or Mozdak on the Caucasus map with shadows off. Now I can put most of the setting on high shadows medium and it's as smooth as butter unbelievable, this opens up a lot more of the map for me for creating missions it's great. If I spent around £500.00 on a new graphics card and it made this amount of difference I would have said the money was well spent. I am using this with DCS World Beta, I can't seem to get it to work with DCS World but this could be me, I'm going to look into this today.

I've tried all the above tip's and thanks for that but still don't seem to get them to work, have found that the right engine works ok it's just the left that's refusing to work. When I move the throttle forward it doesn't move in the cockpit but when I press the Ralt +home the throttle in the cockpit jumps forward to idle then when I move the throttle forward it now moves forward in the cockpit. Anyway I have mapped a different key that I find easier and use that for now

Yes I know the startup procedure, you used to be able to start the engine using the warthog throttles instead of using RCtrl home etc to start them, I'm trying to start up in VR so don't want to use the keyboard if I can get away with it. But thanks for the comments!! I use the Thrustmaster warthog HOTAS too

Yes got that bit wrong but I still can't get the throttles to do it!!!

Hi Have looked for an answer to this but can't find anything, I'm learning the startup procedure but get stuck when starting the engines the throttle won't start it, I have to press LALT + home and LCTRL + home, that works ok but the throttles won't do it. I have tried to bind the throttles but you can select anything but the throttles to start the engines, when I did this sometime ago it worked fine, is this something I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for the quick response, I will check that I haven't assigned myself as no2 didn't realise I could do that? But I don't think I'm too slow, the wingman follows me out ok but sometimes follows me down the runway. When I have two wingmen, 2 will sometimes follows me down the runway but I can squeeze past him, when I take off he continues to taxi, but then 3 starts to taxi down the runway? This will always result in a crash

I can't find now how to slow down the slew speed when using the TGP, I can slow it down when using the maverick, I could do this before but can't work it out now?
