  1. Yep, what you said. It's getting beyond tedious.
  2. Yep this. No, we are not gonna get a fully working ground radar with "lazer" bombs and a fully working air to air radar that matches all current intelligence with a new top secret weapon that you saw on YouTube once, back in 2016. . Wind your expectations in and ride the Open Beta like a true warrior.
  3. It's a perishable skill. If you leave it to long you lose all that muscle memory.
  4. It's all about the keyboard.
  5. I tried it in VR and it really gave me a sickening headache. I hardly ever get any VR induced sickness but that really knocked me big time. Please implement it for both eyes.
  6. Great points. +1
  7. Brilliant. Well done everyone. So cool to these guys passing on all this incredibly interesting stuff.
  8. So how many hours have you got logged? :)
  9. For those that have done over 100 hours hats off to you . When I consider how much time I personally spend flying the sim and I have only clocked 35 hours that 100 plus mark is mind blowing.
  10. This might help. Look at the video. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=210897
  11. You need to program that in on the EW page. Give me a minute and I will dig out a thread that explains how to do it. You also need to have Master Arm on. It's not complicated and there are some very good reasons why it's done this way.
  12. Good question. I don't know the mechanics of the AWACS within the simulation. Can you expand a bit on your approach? A good tool to use after you have flown your mission is a fantastic program called Tacview. Which is fully supported by DCS. (apologies if you know all about it) this will show you a much more detailed view of the situation and much more information to help you analyse your missions after you have finished them etc.
  13. Yep, I know what you mean. Great trap btw. Your advice on the ICLS is bang on. I can land on the carrier but it isn't always a smooth ride. I think I trap about 6 to 7 times out of 10 and 3 of those will be a 3rd wire. The main thing is I really enjoy doing it. The concentration levels really take me away from everyday life especially in VR.
  14. I'm defiantly turning to early in the groove. However I am turning and holding that 30 degree angle of bank. I guess I am being to rigid.
  15. Fair enough. I know what you mean. I spend most of my time A2A refuelling and Case 1 recovery. Keeping me entertained.
  16. I thought it would be interesting to see how many hours you have clocked up in the Hornet so far.

    Thanks, Wags.

Wags and all the ED team people have made me realise my childhood dreams. My dad served in the Royal Air Force throughout my childhood and as such I was brought up on fighter squadrons in Germany during the cold war. I got to witness Tornados taking of in 4 ship formations and loads of other aircraft when I was 9-13 years old. The shear noise was incredible. We had to stop class in school to let this happen. I have always flown simulations on ZX Spectrums, Commodore 64 and of course PC. Now I get to fly Spitfires, Harriers, Hornets and the A-10C in Virtual Reality. Dreams come true for me. Thank you so much!

    Learning to fly...

One of the best things about this thread is seeing people trying to help someone without saying RTFM. Great stuff what an awesome community.

    Learning to fly...

Lots of sound advice in this thread Dave. It can seem overwhelming and of course it is if it's something new like anything else. Start really basic like getting your controls set up. This does take a bit of time. Then take it one step at a time and enjoy the fact that you are about to start an incredible journey that will lead to years of pleasure. So from setting up your controls to a massive life changing leap. That's the best I can do. I will be quite happy to talk you through anything you are finding difficult. Just PM me and I will help.
  21. Yep, The revealing thing about that for me is the level of detail ED are trying to achieve. Incredible stuff.
  22. Yep, really useful for pdf files etc.
  23. Ha Ha indeed! ;) Yep good point. I want it.
