Superb! As someone who mainly fly's on my own, the whole Jester thing is something I am particularly looking forward to. This is going to be a great and classic module.

Roger that.

Been trying to nail this for a long time. i think I have got it now. What do you think?

aha this really........oh wow!!!

I am making a video and need someone to provide a classic American voice piece. No pressure My typical, and awful British ascent doesn't cut it. I want you to say " two one hornet cleared in hot, bridge" Any takers will of course be credited and if this video goes viral i will give you plenty of my riches. If anyone needs some classic British actor voicing I will of course recuperate. For a very large fee and fresh fruit in the dressing room. post here or DM me. Thanks.

Nah, what you are seeing there is the real Hornet still in early access. That's how good Eagle Dynamics are.

Thanks Steven.

I can do my refuel no problems. When I am done I press comms Flight then F3 (go to) then there is only the option, Return to base nothing else?

I'm trapping 3 or 4 wire now consistently. Nobody change a damm thing.

I make the odd video for my YouTube channel and wanted to record one of my incredible case 1 recovery landings............ehrm...cough! However recording in VR to the standard that most ppl expect is not that easy. So, I thought, the easiest way was to blow the dust off my trusty old trackIR that has been an integral part of my simulation life over the years and just record it that way. It's been many years and the setup was a painless experience. It was quite novel being in the DCS browser in 2D (looks great btw). When I sat in the cockpit or to be more precise looked into the cockpit from about 2 feet away I was shocked at how.....disconnected I was.. It looks great but man oh man. I tried flying around and It was just awful. I did persevere and try a few touch and goes but it was like having one arm tied behind your back and doing something you are so familiar with from a different corner of the room. If that sounded rude that's your fault not mine. I can't do it. I think it would be interesting to try it for a long period of time without trying VR then going back to VR and see what that's like but I am to scared in case I get stuck in some sort of limbo thing and don't like either. Uhhhh!

Thanks Jim. I have heard that ED are quite keen on this sort of hardware. I remember Wags talking about this or referencing them in a video at one of those big computer/sales/cooperate get together things. ED are a seasoned company now and have been around for many years, I'm sure you know. In my experience they are well in tune with what we all want. Unfortunately they are not this massive conglomerate company we all like to think they are and resources are limited. They are still dealing with a major release that is in early access and lot of stuff is still being worked on, just not at the pace we all would like. That's just a long way of saying don't get rid of them. It's all early development stuff. You are at the forefront of that ;)

Ah, I see. Apologies. Many thanks much appreciated.

That doesn't work. No option to refuel in F3 comms menu when close to the tanker.

What others have been saying. It is very frustrating at first. Avoid using trim. I don't use it all in the Hornet for AAR and can't think of anything worse when what you need are precise micro movements. The key is formation flying and throttle control. When I am in close the throttle is the main component for movement.

I saw a folder in DCS for these. I presume someone at ED are working with these guys to get it functional within the sim. Has anyone else got them apart from the chap who can't get near his computer?
-
Yep, same here. Good to see it's being looked at ....so to speak ;)

I was just about to ask the same question. I think changing those settings are more dependent on how good your eyes are at long distance. It's going to be a very personnel thing for VR users. I'm going to mess around with those figures and see what I can come up with because I have to wear glasses for driving etc.

Don't worry I'm still doing that on a sunny day.

There is a whole module that is in, or will be developed dedicated to carrier ops. In the meantime I would suggest getting this mod by VFA 113 (chap called Jar) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=211557 It's a great mission for practising case 1 recovery with good radio triggers etc. It works well offline but really shines in MP. All the best.

That really struck me too. Elbows are almost tucked in. I was thinking perhaps this pilot must be particularly big or something but he would have to be REALLY big in that case. I just read about zooming back to far etc. That's a good point I will try that when I get a chance.

Great job. I'm getting a significant improvement in fps. Many thanks.

Also great to practice proper navigation.

Yep read about that no worries.
