The best argument for DCS Su25
ZQuickSilverZ replied to ZQuickSilverZ's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Corrected and thank you. -
I saw this today in my e-mail. The stable of helicopters for DCS World continues to grow, and we have some great new helicopters in development like the Mi-24 and Bo-105. Now we just need some screenshots. :)

North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco
ZQuickSilverZ replied to ZQuickSilverZ's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Maybe this is what I was thinking of. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/600266/ -
I thought I had read somewhere that this airframe was in development. I checked the unofficial roadmap and did not see it. Does anyone else recall this airframe being in development?
-
I did not know where to post these but I thought they were really neat and wanted to share.

I was thinking more like a coop mission for a squadron. Say 10 people trying to drop a bomb on a target and defending against several AI aircraft. Doesn't that sound like fun?

I happen to come across this screenshot in this Forum. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160234&page=65 Truly stunning. I would LOVE to see something like this in DCS. It is so iconic.

Wow....... bit confrontational isn't he?

Great, me either. Isn't that what I said? I thought you might have been able to figure that out for yourself.

TRIM NOT WORKING
ZQuickSilverZ replied to ZQuickSilverZ's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
2.0.x I have never heard of this "trim bug" and have never experienced it before. Any easy fix? -
Yes I understood that to be the case. I am simply trying to track down the information he sourced to justify its entry on the list. I am looking for details which were provided by another poster (in this case you). I would say the link you gave made this a pretty successful post on my part. :)

USMC Trev I think you missed my point. I am sure you are aware they are releasing a WW2 themed map and working on many WW2 air frames. If I am running a WW2 themed server with period specific vehicles I would not want the pilots using GPS. The first handheld GPS unit was not even released in the United States until the Magellan NAV 1000 in 1989. Are you saying you want virtual pilots in a virtual WW2 setting having access to technology they should not even see for 44 years? Obviously in an online mixed period airframe environment turning off GPS would be a bit silly.

Any ideas of a release date? Will it be free or a for sale product?
-
Well that was a real Revelation. Thank you for the information. :)

I have heard a rumor that Eagle Dynamics is working on a mod to allow a stand alone handheld GPS to be used in the cockpit. Six questions. 1. Is it true? 2. Will it be a fully functional or simplified? 3. Will it be a 3D model or a 2D display? 4. Can it be disabled at the server level? 5. Will all DCS level aircraft be able to use it or only "approved" airframes. 6. Will it be used in FC3 level aircraft? I feel this would be a great addition to the sim. I do think it's use needs to be limited in a multiplayer environment to aircraft that could have actually used the technology during it's service life.

I just read in the DCS:Roadmap about a Ka50 update. Anybody have a clue what this "update" might be? #4 *201? *Modules - Ka-50 Update (Unkonow) (201?)
-
I recently updated and found that I could not trim the helicopters. Is anyone else having this issue?
-
Perhaps we need to review the concept of a "simulator". Is anyone else interested in a "sim" where the developers don't take realism into account?
-
In all seriousness I swear I read someone was working on an OV-10 Bronco on these very forums. I would like to buy that. I love the visibility that aircraft offers. I found this MOD http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/600266/ I would also like the Harrier but I have heard that is canceled.

I would appreciate any suggestions. I consider this an "evolving document". This will be cleaned up and zoned out when it is finished. This is just a preliminary prototype.

I appreciate that. This very video is where I learned how to set the rotaries to begin with. However following this video I am simply getting inputs too fast for it to be useful. His seems controllable in the BS. Maybe that is because he is in a DCS airframe as opposed to a FC airframe, or perhaps it is because it is an earlier version of DCS World. I am still in need of assistance if anyone has any suggestions.

I have 2 questions actually. 1. I am trying to set "Ripple Interval Increase/Decrease" to Rotary 4 and "Ripple Quantity Select/SPPU Select" to Rotary 3. The problem is I am simply getting too many inputs over the range. I need an input say every 1/5th of the range for Rotary 4 and every 1/3 for Rotary 3. Right now I am using the directional axis option. It works but it changes the rotary in game so fast as to be almost useless. 2. How do you set a modifier in the X-55 software. Here is an example. When playing Black Shark and setting my controls using DCS when I hit my thumb button it trims. When I hit the thumb button AND the pinky button (the modifier) it resets trim. How do I make the X-55 software do that?
