I have no idea. I was never in the military and am not a student of military tactics. What you say makes total sense. That being said I have seen a lot of aircraft with moving map systems. If jamming GPS is such a common tactic you would think that moving map systems would not be worth the trouble and expense to build and develop.

We are getting a bit off track. Are they still working on this or not? Who was working on it? Was it third party or DCS?

Force Feedback - Which device(s) do you use?

If I am exaggerating it is under. Seriously, the stick is terrible. -

That's like saying the car could be good if you just replaced the engine, transmission, suspension, tires, and electrical system. Better to just get a MSFFB2 and have it work correctly right out of the box. Yes a MSFFB2 has less buttons and hat switches but how many do you really need on the helicopters anyway? I use my X-55 stick and throttle for fixed wing and my MSFFB2 and X-55 throttle for helicopters. The ONLY reason I still have my G940 is because I need it right now for the pedals. Once I make a crossover box I will have it hooked to my G29 usb cable (see below). http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=187 After that the G940 stick is off to eBay to let some modder fix. My MS stick though..... I would not sell that at ANY price. I have almost thought about buying 1 or 2 more on eBay as spares. -
The Garmin is what I was referring to. It would be nice to have in an Su25T, Hawk, Tiger II, Mi-8. Anything really.

All that text and this is literally the only thing you added to the conversation. Not trying to be rude but please don't muck up the forums restating what was obviously stated on the previous post.

Put a piece of electrical tape over the sensor. Problem solved.

What is the command to show frames per second in DCS. I am about to install a new graphics card and try some new software and I want to see if they make any difference. Is the command the same for both 1.5 and 2.0? I will need both.

Thank you.

Can this be done for the Abris as well?

I would like to export the Shkval on the Su25t to a window on my main display. I would also like to do the same for the Ka-50. Can someone please post a how to for this. If it is not too much trouble maybe for the A-10A and C as well.......

So is this even being worked on anymore? No updates for 4 years now.

I was wondering if anyone had heard any information about the GPS unit being developed for DCS world. I have not heard any information on it in a long time. Is it still being worked on?

LOOKING FOR UPGRADE ADVICE

Thank you. I have 2 comments just for clarity. I use Windows 10 as my main OS and the VM has Windows 7. I don't game from my VM, I only use it to surf the internet. I figured let a virus hit my virtual machine and keep my main OS safe. That was the idea anyway. I hate to ask again but is running AVAST on my main computer and my VM causing an issue? I would regret losing the ability to use my MSFFB2. Even though I am currently using a Saitek X-55 I find that stick difficult to fly Helicopters with. In fact I find it has too long of a throw. I have a G940 to but it is the biggest piece I have ever used. I am considering going back to the MS stick. Thank you for the replies. They are appreciated. As for the 8 GB card... I think I will do a 4 for now as even my 1 gig card will play DCS. I think next year I will just build a new PC. -

Thank you. I would point out however, the 1080Ti I am considering is an 11 Gig card and the 970 is a 4 Gig card. The CPU you suggested, I would have to get a new motherboard and RAM correct? -

One more issue I am having Sometimes my computer will just freeze and lock up for a few minutes then release. I have VMWare installed with a Windows 7 OS. I am using a 5 TB hard drive. I am not sure if the issue is because the hard drive is not partitioned properly or because reading from both the "real PC" and virtual PC is causing a buffering issue....... I also have AVAST free antivirus installed on both the real and virtual PC. Maybe that is causing an issue. I just don't know. I do know it is annoying having my PC freeze up for sometimes up to 15 minutes. If you have experience with virtualization I would love to hear from you. -

Is it going to be worth getting the GTX 970 for now? Should I install the other 16 gigs of RAM I have or will I even need it?

I have a G940 and a MSFFB2 and let me tell you....... the MS stick is so much better it's not even a contest. I don't understand how Logitech screwed the G940 up so bad after MS perfected it back in the 90's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The stick had too much slop to make it effective for anything and half the controls on the throttle did not work. PIECE OF JUNK. IF you are considering getting a G940 consider yourself warned. -
Please note I see this is a Saitek product. This has been listed this way (Logitech) only because that is the way it was listed on Amazon. Has anyone tried to use this for DCS. I was thinking it would be great for targeting control systems. I can see using it with the Su25T, Gazelle, or A-10A/C. Maybe you fast movers can even use it for your fancy radar. I think Saitek may have inadvertently busted open a market for flight gear here. Anyway let me know. :) https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Saitek-Farm-Vehicle-Panel/dp/B01M1B2MJX EDIT: I can even see an after market for "cards" for this equipment (for when you change aircraft)

Why So Few FFB Sticks?
ZQuickSilverZ replied to martinistripes's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Nonsense. The MS FFB2 had a MSRP of $109. I can tell you it is heads and tails above the G940. That is coming from someone who has owned both products (and STILL owns both products). I bought it new and it still works as good today as the day I bought it. There is no justification for these sticks to cost $500.00 USD except that stupid people are willing to pay it. Logitech charged an MSRP of $299.99 to sell a stick with absolutely horrid build quality. It's main selling feature was the fact it was FFB. The fact that Logitech implemented this so badly when MS mastered it over 10 years ago should be an indicator of the state of HOTAS manufactures these days. Feel free to attempt justification for a $500 hunk of plastic made in China with horrible build quality...... I know it's coming. -
