  1. Can you share your G940 set up please. Curves, saturation, etc
  2. This looks promising...... http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/paccus-fluid-head-force-feedback-hawk-joystick-interview,1.html Let's make 2016 the year of the forcefeedback flight stick. :)
  3. Has anyone heard of any FF sticks under development. The G940 is just not getting it done........ My flight has been all over the place and I know it is due to issues with the stick, as I had much more stable control using my MSFFB2. It should be noted I fly helos which are a bit less forgiving than fixed wing. I am thinking about "regressing" to my old MSFFB2 stick until an alternative comes along...... I am sorely disappointed in the G940 on every front...... Bad rotaries, pedals, and throttles that spike, bad hat switches that register less than half the time, bad slop in the flight stick. This is the only Logitech product I have bought that I have been disappointed with. I am typing this on a Logitech wireless keyboard right now that uses solar to keep the batteries charged. Works perfect. I use a Logitech G700s wireless mouse that works perfectly and Logitech speakers that I have no complaints about. I don't understand how a company I have used and been satisfied with for years can make such an inferior product that fails on so many levels. I would like to add it is ridiculous that I have to resort to using a joystick manufactured in 1998........ That cost $109 new and works perfectly. I don't understand how Logitech could botch something up so bad that Microsoft got so perfect 16 years ago (came out in August). Anyway, rant over....... if you hear of any FF sticks under development please point me toward them.
  4. I have a Windows Surface...... guess I am out of luck :(
  5. I would be interested in your overall setup because I run an i7-3770 @ 3.4 with 24 gigs of ram and a gtx 650 with a 23 inch 1920 X 1080 monitor. I only get about 15 - 22 FPS. I would not mind some pointers in getting this sim to run in the....... 30's I have considered "upgrading" my monitor to a 1080 40 inch TV after the 4k's get a little more widespread (trying to get it cheaper). I just wonder if that would actually make a good screen though.
  6. Sorry for the delayed response. A combination of my job and my wife being off work for an extended time has kept me off the forums. I am glad GC2 works so well for you. I would also recommend that instead of using a keyboard key you consider using a button on your hotas. I realize hotas "space" is at a premium but if one button does tons of actions in my opinion it has earned its keep. I, for example, use the same button on my throttle for voice (team speak) and voice command (GC2). Of course I use the pinky button on the flight stick to switch between the two modes.
  7. I am loaded up with work today but I will certainly drop in tomorrow.
  8. I would sure like to set a time and date up for new Sabre pilots to meet and greet and share all the secrets they have discovered, share tips, and ask questions. Anybody down for that?
  9. Say it isn't so.
  10. Sounds like fun drawing coming soon.
  11. I thought about the same thing. Sometimes expectations override common sense. :) Here we are sort of conditioned to expect sales a certain day of the month in November. I will know to pay better attention next time. Thanks for the suggestion Bob-68. The REAL tragedy here is I might have to redesign my sig....... LoL.
  12. I read the dates wrong on the November surprise sale. I thought for sure the sale was on Thanksgiving and the day after. Kind of like a Black Friday sale. I wonder how many other sales ED lost because people overlooked the actual date due to market expectations. I am not blaming ED or anything I am just curious if anybody else made the same mistake I did and missed out on the sale. I totally wanted to get the Sabre. :( I even posted it on my sig... see below.
  13. No. I have had a rough 3 years. I got laid off, attended school, moved, started a new career, got a new puppy, and a ton of other stuff. I had to put my "dream" desk on the back burner because I had too much going on in my personal life. Things are starting to slow down a bit for me now though. :) Until I start college.
  14. http://www.fatshark.com/product/1748.html Interesting.
  15. Not one suggestion almost 3 years later? :(
  16. I thought I would give an update. I did in fact get into IT. I got my CCNA and now work for a telecom company configuring routers and switches. I have accomplished in 1.5 years what it took me 10 to accomplish at American Airlines. My wife's job was contracted out but they offered her a new position. I am doing pretty well these days.
  17. Has ED fixed this?
  18. So you are saying that the camera solution would be something similar to picture in picture? That actually might work.
  19. Not that hard when it is so close to your face. Also not hard if the screens are angled.
  20. I am a bit confused. I thought that the screen actually extended outside of the users peripheral vision. Is this not so. I am sure I read that.
  21. Thank you. I have now enabled music in the GUI menu. It was nice to slide that bar from 0 to 100. Thanks again.
  22. Ahhhhhhh there it is. I knew it was coming, just a matter of time really. :megalol:
  23. Was? You mean is, and is is part of the problem. Headtracking has not evolved in years despite the availability of other solutions. NaturalPoint's solution from YEARS ago is still the only game in town. Anybody that thinks accelerometers and gyroscopes will not work needs to go play a Wii for 5 minutes then reexamine their position. I agree TrackIR works well, but it has a few problems that have not and probably will not (judging from the companies lack of action over the years) be addresses. First is the issue of the wire. I got a wireless headset to eliminate the tangling issues (Turtle Beach Z300, works great by the way). The problem with that is I am still wired to the desktop. I know many of you will say just unhook the TrackClip..... well the problem with that is the TrackClip is so cheaply made I have to tape the back of it with electrical tape to keep it closed, otherwise it just wants to pop open. My TrackClip is a Frankenstein of glue, electrical tape, and cheap plastic. Another issue with the wire is it hits my headphones while in use, believe it or not it is pretty loud. That itself is pretty annoying. Then there is the loss of tracking whenever I look down. At this point there are 2 solutions that would make me happy, for NaturalPoint to offer a wireless HIGHER QUALITY TrackClip pro or (more preferable) to go to another device that hooks to your headset and uses accelerometers and gyroscopes to take care of the FoV issue that plagues me during flight sessions. I am not saying TrackIR is not a good product. You are right that it does it's job pretty well. My issue is they have not done a thing to address community concerns or evolve their product over the years because they have a monopoly on the head tracking market. People will bring up the free head tracking options but the fact is those solutions are poorly supported and are actually just workarounds, not dedicated products. There is no other RETAIL company for NaturalPoint to compete with and the customer has been paying the price for it for years. I don't want to beat a dead horse so I won't comment further on this unless someone asks me a specific question. I just wanted to clarify my grievances.
  24. First off I have used MS Game Commander voice recognition software and you are right, it does work great, even with my deep southern voice. That is a solution we can use NOW. No need to wait for the tech it is already here. Second I get the general concept of a VR pasthrough (something that lets you momentarily see into the real world) but can you go a bit into the mechanics of how that would work.
  25. I am down. I think waiting for multiplayer cockpits would give it that extra punch to make it more memorable though.
