How to switch between 2 keyboard layouts?
golfsierra2 replied to mavyalex's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I found a free tool, that allows to use two keyboards simultaneously. Instead of toggling between two keyboard layouts, this might have potential to work with LOFC. http://hidmacros.medek.info/whatisit.php Key features * manage multiple keyboards/mouses connected to one PC * different key on different keyboard has assigned it's own command -
No problem, I know that online translation sounds funny. But at least one can understand the basic message. Thanks to all of the Russian Lock-On comrades for participating ! You all did a good job !

How to switch between 2 keyboard layouts?
golfsierra2 replied to mavyalex's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Your keybord layout is stored under Lock On/input/keyboard.ini I think the best way would be to store the current layout, rename it as keyboard1.ini, go to the options menu of Lock-On, change all the commands that you want to have with the second layout as keyboard2.ini , and write a small batch program that allows you to swap the keybord layouts by pressing a specified button, like F12. All of this is just theory, I can't do that and it never was tested / done before. And I don't know, if Lock-On accepts changing the keyboard layout without restarting the game. Just my guess what could make your idea work... -

Try this: +style -blue finds posts with style in it but no blue. style blue finds post with either style or blue in it. +style +blue finds posts with style and blue in it. style* finds posts with words that begin with style You can mix all options.

About tactics: We already saw amazing things during the qualification with pilots taking off with very low fuel, and even got rid of chaff / flare to loose weight. Finally, some guys even used the recoil effect of the cannon to slow down the aircraft during the approach phase. TCR 2010 was a race, that required flying skills and smart fuel management. Flame out 10 km before KERCH was a good option, then the fuel consumption had been managed well during the entire flight ! We saw amazing things, crazy manouvers to slow down the aircraft before t&g like 9 g turns and even rolls... It really was fun watching all the different concepts with different ways of afterburner use, extreme low level and even high altitude cruising between the air bases. I hope that the race gave some good insight into high speed, low level aircraft handling and fuel management, which might be useful in simulated combat missions. BTW: The qualification phase only was added to the race in order to limit the number of final race participants to 90 pilots in total. We knew that the race tracks would be about 25 to 30 min each, so we tried to enable us to handle the race evaluation in a timely manner. We had no clue, how much pilots actually would sign up for the race and expected a number of several hundred pilots, taking into account the number of online squadrons and members at this forum. Well, if we have had an idea, that only 44 would sign up for the quali, we could have omitted that qualification and go for the race at once. But you only know afterwards, as usual...

Hi Boulund, I corrected your call sign. As Balu already mentioned, a landing with the aircraft coming to a full stop was required for the air base KERCH. Re-read the ReadMe file that you received with the mission file, it's all explained there.

So, you missed the whole thing ? Man, where have you been the last 4 months ? :music_whistling: The race was from KHERSONES (take off) to KERCH (landing) with a touch & go required at each airbase in between KHERSONES and KERCH along a given routing (waypoints). Gears had to be up during flight, so the pilots had to slow down below 480 km/h before each t&g iot lower the landing gears. Take off / landing and approach directions for t&g were free to choose, also the fuel configuration (internal and external). T&g was considered valid, if the main landing gear touched the runway (not taxiway !), clearly to be heared. Flight speed and altitudes were free to choose, also. Time measurement was taken start: from the first visible forward movement of the aircraft on the KHERSONES runway stop: until the aircraft visibly comes to a full stop at KERCH runway. Time measurements in seconds then were rounded (.49 to 0 and .50 to 1) and subtracted: Time at landing minus time at take off = total flight time. Total flight time then was still in seconds and converted to min and sec. Time was taken with the internal clock of LO (CTRL+ Backspace). Best regards, Raven

Yes, the clouds look awesome ! In LOMAC, I think the cloud display was unfinished. You can see it with the cloud settings 7,8,9 where there is no difference anymore. You can a few clouds, or overcast and nothing in between.

While the evaluation of the race is going on, we put the qualification track files of the fastest Mig-29S, F-15C and Su-27 pilot online for all to see aircraft handling at its best. Enjoy ! http://www.modern-air-combat.de/TCR2010/ Best regards, Race Control

Of all 43 Pilots that qualified for the race, only 22 showed up in total. We have 6 x MiG-29S 4 x F-15C 12x Su-27 We now have begun with the evaluation of the race tracks files, which will take some days. Please be patient. Best regards, Race Control
