November 2009. Wer da nicht mitmacht, ist selber Schuld.
  2. Touch & Go requirement I noticed that questions arose concerning the definition of what is a valid touch & go. For both the qualification and the race, a valid touch & go is achieved when the main landing gear has touched the runway (2 wheels). There is no requirement for a 3 wheel landing, so the nose wheel doesn't have to touch the runway. Besides that, I added some mirror links for the qualification missions. The original host seems to be offline, reason unknown. Sorry for the trouble. Please post a note in Russian language over there in the Russian forum part. Thank you !
  3. Not sure if I understood your question right. The waypoint / routing of the qualification mission is just an aid, you don't have to follow that routing. But you have to do a touch & go at Gvardeyskoye and return to Saki. на видят вновь
  4. So do we ! Qualifications ends on Nov 7, so there still is time for pilots to join. Spread the word ! Thanks,
  5. Update Sunday 25 Oct 09 As of today 19:00 local, we only counted 37 participants, no track file submitted yet. Come and join the race !

  7. Honestly: I think, the 'cheating' thing is working both ways. Yes, there are pilots who get frustrated after being killed for the xy time on a HL server, and yes, the may get the impression (justified or not) that there is something wrong here.. But also yes, There are wings and squadrons, devoting time and money to keep HL servers up and running for the benefit of the community. But the same guys should do everything possible to make their job very transparent to all others, so the chance for mistrust growing is the lowest possible. 90 % (or even higher) of 'cheating' is a perception thing, that normally is not based on clear facts and likely will be very hard to prove. But on the other hand, it also is hard to prove for those that have been accused of cheating, that they played fair. Are there any good / workable proposals as how to restore trust and credibility among HL users ?
  8. I wouldn't dare....
  9. TCR Qualification Period started, ends 7 Nov 09 Gentlemen, The qualification period has officially started. You may join the qualification process now by submitting one track file each. Race control will accept files submitted until 7 November 2009, 24:00 UTC + 1 (local time Germany). Please find the download links for the qualification mission files and all the details at the TCR main page. http://www.modern-air-combat.de/TCR2010

  11. Well done, Vekkinho, well done !!
  12. Can you read my mind ? :smilewink:
  13. Is this a general statement or do you have something specific in mind ?
  14. Maybe it would be possible to generate a check value for a client export.lua, like MD5 hash values are used to verify an original file. An export.lua with the TacView option would give a certain value in return, whilst a modified export.lua will give back a different value, indicating a modification, which then will block this client from the server. A 'safe list' of modified export.luas could be created, and all others would be considered as 'unsafe'. This 'checking' tool should run on all HL servers.
  15. I don't think so. There is no need to 'rename' LOMAC. It's still a benchmark simulation, and the best balance between eye candy and physics models available yet. If the rep of this simulation goes down, it is because of what certain people make out of it, not because of the simulation. I back up Tomcatz here from personal experience in HL. And sadly enough, this is not the problem of a single wing or squad. You'll find black sheep almost everywhere, and personally I think that most of them are lone wolves, not organized in teams. But in the end, what can we do ? Nothing !? (what am I writing here ... sheep are wolves... I should stop drinking now...)
  16. How about making a black list with the names and squadrons and or HL servers that are 'suspicious' to say the least. Sort of negative ranking. I know, that proving pilots cheating on HL server ist pretty impossible, as not all the servers allow TacView recordings. One could try to record each flight on HL as track file, but would that work out ? This black list also could me misused by simply frustrated noobs trying to discredit honest and true pilots. I will look into a simple ranking system like adding / subtracting karma points of the forum.
  17. Soon, the qualification starts. Please spread the word among your friends, on your forums and on your homepages, so that nobody misses this opportunity ! Thank you !
  18. Update: We planned to have a Russian ED representative as one of the three Jury members, so the big Russian part of the Lock-On community would be represented adequately, however, looks like they are all very busy working for us on DCS and other stuff, so the Jury will be manned by only two gents. This has no real impact on the whole thing, just a footnote I'd like to tell.

  20. ace.man would you please delete that posting ? SPAM bots are looking for email addresses on the web, that is why I posted the email address as image, not as link. Otherwise this email account soon will be filled with crap and SPAM Thank you !
  21. LOL "The qualification mission is not completed if you crash your aircraft or the main gear does not touch the runway of the second airbase." Fixed that typo. Thanks for pointing it out.

  23. Virtual Pilots of the well-known combat flight simuation ‚Lock-On’ by Eagle Dynamics now have a good reason to celebrate: Almost 10 years ago, SSI / The Fighter Collection conducted the Millennium Trans Crimean Race, at that time based on the famous ‚Flanker’ Su-27 simulation. Now, the team of the German combat flight sim forum „Modern Air Combat“ announces a re-run of this event to take place in January 2010. Quite some popular sponsors are contributing to this event: 2Connect.de spends a brandnew TrackIR 5, Saitek gives away a new X52 Controller and ‚The Fighter Collection / Eagle Dynamics’ sponsors several copies of the combat helicopter simulation ‚Black Shark’ from the new Digital Combat Simulation Series as main prizes. Register yourself and win ! For more information see here: http://www.modern-air-combat.de/TCR2010 Credits to SovI3t and Namenlos Ein for their translations and Crunch for his friendly support !!
  24. Simulations come and go, we all know this. Once a 'better' simulation comes up, the old ones are abandoned quite fast, like Lock-On superseded Flanker 2.0. Now, for the time being, DCS:BS is only a Heli sim, no fast jets available yet. However, to me it seems like Lock-On is winding down since DCS:BS came up, and we already 'lost' a number of wings and squads. Your opinion / observations ?
