Then planning, preparing, conducting and evaluating the next air race is with you. :pilotfly: You seem to be most qualified for that task. -
TCR 2010: Race started tonite
golfsierra2 replied to golfsierra2's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
From the TCR 2010 web page whne the race was announced last year: "What is the overall procedure ? TCR2010 will take place in two phases as an offline event. The first phase ist the qualification. All pilots may participate here, fly a simple mission and hopefully will have some fun by that already. From the qualifying participants, only the 30 fastest pilots will move on to the main race. The original TCR was flown with one aircraft only, the Su-27 Flanker. That was the only aircraft flyable in the old Flanker simulation. With Lock-On, other fast jets were introduced, of which race control choose 3 types to be used for the qualification and the race. TCR2010 will be flown using the Su-27, the F-15C and the MiG-29S, providing 3 separate race groups. Sorry, no Su-25T and A-10 allowed, the mudders must stay on the ground this time. Also the Su-33 will have plenty time for maintenance this time. All participating pilots will compete against others within their aircraft type group, and at the end of the race we will see 3 winners, one for each aircraft type." No Su-25, no A-10 and we excluded the Su-33 as well. -
TCR 2010: Race started tonite

From the ReadMe, that comes together with each race track file: "- Save the .mis file to the mission folder of your Lock-On installation - When you run it, record your flight as a track file - Your task is: Take off from KHERSONES airbase and navigate along the given waypoints. Each waypoint marks an airbase. The waypoints are just for navigation, you don't need to overfly it, but you have to stick to the routing / sequence of airbases. Do a touch & go at EVERY AIRBASE along the flight route with the gear down, and finally land at KERCH airbase for a full stop. - You have do do valid touch & go's, so the tires have to touch ALL OF THE RUNWAYS (you clearly can hear it), just a low level overflight is not considered as a valid touch & go. - You may choose any landing / take off direction and any altitude setting. - You may change the internal / external fuel load as required. - The gear must not stay lowered during the flight ! - The mission file is classified, do not change any settings (wind, temperature etc.) except the fuel load. - The race will be considered incomplete if you fail to perform a valid touch & go at one or more airbases or in the wrong sequence. Be sure, that you did them all and in the correct sequence !" There is a touch& go required for each base, except for KHERSONES (where the race starts) and KERCH (where the race ends). From the amount of fuel, that the F-15C and Su-27 can carry internally, it wouldn't be necessary to refuel in between, provided A/B is used with care. For the MiG-29S, you could fly it as 3-tanker. So, the answer is no. This race is not only about handling an aircraft at high speed, but also about intelligent fuel management. Makes ist more challenging that way. Please would somebody of the Russian fraction translate this post and post it in the Russian section ? Thank you ! -
So you are still breast-feeding now ? Watch out, don't drink too much beer then.....

There had been a qualification before, and the table shows the race participants with the timings that they qualified with. You may have missed it, but it has been posted several times here on this forum before. -

Well, it's a race and pilots should accomplish the race track as fast as possible. I am curious about what the average time will be.... -

So what's you point ? The timings for the qualification were flown on a short track, not on this race track. -

I configured the main sound files (most used) of TS 2 so that they will work with TS 3. Just replace the folder 'default' under Teamspeak 3 Client/sound/ with the one from this ZIP-file: http://remixshare.com/dl/3wvhz/default.zip Now the 'Lady' sounds like before.....

Shoot him, there is no cure for insanity  Honestly, all these crap web pages about conspiracies, UFOs, Mind Control, abductions, cattle mutilations, time travel and such should not find their way into this forum. I recommend to close this topic. It's leading nowhere.....

3D models poly count ranking
golfsierra2 replied to golfsierra2's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Well, the impact on the FPS rate depends on the CPU, RAM and video card combination. Older systems with single core CPU (like mine, AMD Athlon 6400+) suffer from high poly models. I remember severe FPS drops when we tested Tomcatz' early Eurofighter models. One was fairly OK, more than one almost degraded my graphics to a slide show. -
FC 2.0 Mission editor, triggers and SAM behaviour.
golfsierra2 replied to Pilotasso's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
It's the opposite: GBAD has a corridor sytem which friendly aircraft should adhere to in addition to SIF/IFF. -
Many 3D-Models have been developed for Lock-On / FC in recent years, and some of them have an impact on the computer performance due to higher or lower poly count compared to the original models. This especially shows during missions, were several modified 3D models are operated in close proximity. Can we make up a list with all the models with a poly count ranking? It would be useful to optimize the computer load. Does anybody know the poly counts of the original models ?
