  1. I can imagine, that it would be too complicated to write algorithms that calculate the 'real' burn-through range from at least four major factors: Radar emitter power, ECM emitter power, Radar Cross Section and aspect. The aspect itself would demand for an enourmous calculation power, because the aspect changes so quick. I can live with two different ranges, it's better that just one fixed range that it was before.
  2. Please see the FAQ of Flankertraining: http://flankertraining.com/ironhand/faqpage.htm - Do I have to use LoMan to install these tutorials? For Lock On versions earlier than V1.1, YES. Even though you are downloading a ZIP file, you need to install it with LoMan. Otherwise you will have the video but no sound. LoMan converts the WAV voice files to OGG files for reasonable compression while ensuring good sound quality when it zips the files for me. Using LoMan to install the tutorial, converts the OGG files back to WAV format. If you haven't already, you can download it here: LoMan 2.1. - How do I install the tutorial with LoMan? Procedure: * Download and place the zip files (still zipped) in LoMan's "addon" directory. * Open LoMan and select "Add-On Manager". * A list of the tutorials in the "addon" folder should be visible in the window. If not, select "add an addon to the list", navigate to the zipped tutorials' locations, and add them to the list. * From here, things should be self-evident. Select the tutorial you want to install and click the "Install" button.
  3. Maybe simply because Eagle Dynamics is a russian company, looking at the russian market first ?
  4. Non-registered guests can't see the forum. Did you set it that way intentionally ?
  5. This wasn't the case when LOMAC arrived. It was a few years ahead of the available technology. It was that way when LOMAC was available. Exactly that was the case. No-one had a rig to run LOMAC with all setting at high and without ending up watching a slide show.
  6. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/deploy Deployment in the meaning of the military term, basically that is the same as relocating units. So, if your unit is based at let's say Belbek, where is it moving to in FC 2.0 ?
  7. ... where ? In FC 2.0, there will be no Crimean Peninsula anymore, so where do the squads and wings deploy to ?
  8. You are planning to get divorced now ? I fully understand..... That's one of the few NoNo's a wife should never do: - Forgetting to buy beer when shopping - Throwing away the Lock-On and/or Flaming Cliffs CD - Misplacing the FHM centerfold collection - Inviting her mother to stay for a week or so ....
  9. Opened, please register now
  10. Commanders Round Table opened The Commanders Round Table is available now. Squadron Captains and Wing Commanders and their representatives are highly welcomed to join the forum. Once you registered, I will contact the wing / squadron for confirmation before activating any accounts. Please keep the number of members for each wing / squadron / unit low. I suggest that not more than 2 members (C/O and 1 representative) will join the forum. Thanks and I hope we will see some good talks over there. http://www.modern-air-combat.de/CRT/
  11. That guy was very lucky. If the hook had catched a cable, he wouldn't have survived the impact...
  12. In the meinit.xml, for the R-77 set HumanCockpit="yes" and fly it.... :smartass: <Launcher CLSID="{B4C01D60-A8A3-4237-BD72-CA7655BC0FE9}" Name="R-77" NatoName="(AA-12)" Picture="" Weight="175" HumanCockpit="yes" WorldID="4"> <Element ShapeName="R-77"> <Position X="0" Y="0" Z="0"/> <DrawArg Key="1" Value="1"/> <DrawArg Key="2" Value="1"/> </Element> </Launcher>
  13. Hi Gents, I am addressing Wing Commanders and Squadron Captains of Lock-On units here: I'm thinking about a Round Table for Wing Commanders / Squadron Captains for discussing upcoming events, exchange experiences and information and to improve cohesion between Lock-On wings / squadrons. Members would be Wing Commanders and Squadron Captains of Lock-On units or their representatives. A Chairman would be elected and manage the agendas for a six months period each. Exchange could be done via the forum on a permanent basis, while once a month we could add a hosted TeamSpeak meeting and talk to each other. Your thoughts, please... Raven Squadron Captain VJS 161
  14. Have you tried this one: http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=22 Flash-Lights für FC1.12 hosted by the vJaBoG32 (Thanks !) Hopefully, it's not the same.... Ther is an older version on the same page called AC Strobe Lights....
  15. Have you used the search function yet ? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=49414&highlight=strobe
  16. 2x3.0 GHZ is just 1x3.0 GHz, because Lock-On is a 32 bit software only utilizing one core. Try to make it 3.2 or 3.4 GHz and you'll note a difference. And please stop ranting just because you are frustated. Nobody wants to read that here and I'm speaking for the rest of the community here (except yourself).
  17. You could try some overclocking settings BE CAREFUL ! - overclock the CPU (2.4 -> 2.8 ?) - overclock the RAM - adjust higher HT rate / front side bus - adjust more aggressive RAM settings - overclock the GPU - overclock GPU RAM etc but BE CAREFUL ! Don't touch the BIOS unless you know what you are doing ! And like Fahhh said, Windows will assign all tasks to the 4 cores at will. The core supposed to run solely for Lock-On will have to do other stuff as well, as long as you don't interfere and manually assign a core to Lock-On as dedicated task.
  18. Probably a PC made in 2020. :smartass: Lock-On neither supports 64 bit nor more than 1 CPU core. Beside that, Lock-On ist more CPU heavy than GPU heavy. You could try to optimize your settings by assigning Lock-On to just one core and all other stuff to other cores. You further could try to optimize your RAM usage by adjusting your BIOS settings. Beside that, you could try to use some tweaks / settings / Mods described on this forum to increase your FPS rate.
  19. That is his problem. I never noticed that TIR will not work properly with LO 1.01/1.02, never tried it.
  20. That is not was I was saying. There is a balancing, that is the MiG-29S has a crude, short-ranged radar, way lower fuel than the F-15C and no TWS. After all, the way it is now, Mig-29S, Su-27 and F-15C all have their good and bad sides -> balanced. It could look different if you put a datalink into the F-15C, real bulls-eye function and better ECM. All that real F-15C have. But then the balance would be gone. That was my example.
  21. 2012 ? Totally BS ( and I don't mean Black Shark here). Where are the gullible people that claimed that on 1th January 2000 the world would go out of existence ? At a random point in time, men decided to count years, starting with year number one. This numbering is totally independent of any phenomenon created by mother nature.
  22. No, I don't think so. I think that the weapon / radar capabilities were tuned that way on purpose. Otherwise we probaby would end up with one side being superior over the other. Imagine a HL server, were for example the F-15C constantly would win eight out of ten engagements vs Su-27/Mig-29S. Then the majority of pilots would concentrate on the F-15C (to have a better chance of winning a fight) which contradicts a balanced mix of aircraft to be flown. F-15C with a gods eye view data link picture for example. The reason we won't see this in LOFC is that then this aircraft would be way too powerful.
  23. You are using TIR 5 software for a TIR 4 ?
  24. I have TIR 4 Pro as well. Here is my profile, settings.xml and TrackIR.ini for you for testing. Hope it helps. http://www.fileshost.com/download.php?id=47CD33671
