I second VMFA_Blaze's opinion. Lock-On might see a final update with a patch 1.13, but that's the end of the road. The new engine of the DCS series is the new game platform for the next 5 years or so. As long as there are no fast jets available for the DCS series, I won't buy it. A-10 is the next aircraft to be released, which is no jet fighter either. Taking into account the relatively complex work of modeling a new aircraft for DCS, which I guess will be released every 6 months, it will be around 2011 that DCS will provide the variety of aircraft as we now enjoy with Lock-On / Flaming Cliffs. Until then, DCS is a non-player for me.

Read again the text of the screenshot. It says that you have to manually add some lines to the Graphics.cfg file. Looks like the data files have been installed, but your Lock-On 'doesn't know' about them yet.

Well, I think it's your browser setting. Nothing that ED can do about, because the 'life span' of a cookie on your machine depends on your own settings as well. I set my browser (Firefox) to 'remember me' which equals unlimited log-on time, and it works well. Haven't logged in since months... Don't have to... I'm always 'in' . So which browser ? May be we can figure this out ...

Should be enough to copy the Lock On \ Input folder into the new installation. Usually, all controller profiles (like the x42.ini) are saved in there.

For releasing a weapon other than the cannon, usually a 'target lock' is required and the target must be 'in range' to get the weapon computers 'launch authority'. For A2G weapons, you have to switch to the aircraft's A2G mode and have to select an appropriate weapon. Same applies for A2A engagements. There is no alternative than to get familiar with the weapons and attack modes of the aircraft that you choose to fly. Lock-On is no arcade game or shooter, ya know.....

Which aircraft ? See the Lock-On manual / keycards http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=36 for details or look up the key settings under options/input. All the key settings are listed there and can be changed.

No. AFAIK, all AI aircraft that are made flyable by modifying the MEInit.xml will have the same cockpit and the same FM, which is not that of the aircraft you are trying to fly then. As Vekkinho said, you will end up with a Su-27 Cockpit and Su-27 FM.

For a seeker lock, one has already to be very close to the bandit. Firing an ET in override mode, it requires some skills to predict the right lead and actual launch distance to make a kill work. It can be done, especially with less experienced opponents, but it isn't easy and often unreliable.

I know. AFAIK, nobody has managed to create a fully new cockpit for LOFC yet, the closest you can get is making a mod like the ADA mod, but you can't relocate instruments within the cockpit layout. It's fixed, hard coded.

The best working cockpit modifications were done with the Armee Del'Air ADA Mod. You can find it at http://www.lockonfiles.com. I recommend to contact the guys who made this, they have been through all these problems before and know what can be done what can't be done.
