Why do I lose missile lock in F15?
golfsierra2 replied to Victorious1's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Not sure how the AI pilot functions, but this might be the case: You lock the bandit and then get your Launch Authorization for the AIM-120 because the bandit is in range for the missile. You fire, but the AI pilot turns cold, notching, breaking your lock. Because of the broken lock, he turns hot (into you) again, then you are in range for the IR missile (which does not indicate a lock at the AI pilot's RWR) and you can lock him again, firing another missile. By these maneuvers, the AI pilot comes closer and closer. Then you switch back to radar mode and the AI pilot already is so close that you can maintain your radar lock and fire AIM-120s. This is what I think has happened. -
Haven't played Lock-On 1.02 for a long time, but AFAIK it isn't possible. It's the same limitation that prevents TacView from working with LO 1.02. Any inputs from LO 1.02 champs ??

Why do I lose missile lock in F15?

What kind of missiles are you firing ? There is a difference between ARH/SARH and IR, concerning their range and the modes that you can use to launch them -

linking 2 PCs: hardwire, or wireless
golfsierra2 replied to Flyby's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Installed a network with 3 power line adapters at home and it works great. Connected my DSL modem/router to one of them, and now enjoying Internet access and online gaming from every power outlet. I can recommend Allnet 168205 200 MBit adapter. -
If you upgraded to Catalyst 9.1, this could be the problem: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=37549 With the new Catalyst driver, DCS:BS won't start at all, and I think that it might have strange effects on Lock-On FC as well. Just a guess but If you use Cat 9.1, I recommend to reinstall the previous version just to see if the problem is gone.

Can you provide more details about your machine ?

I don't think so. As long as your radar is searching and you don't have a target locked, the antenna beam follow all aircraft movements, so the beams will be moving, too. If you have locked a target, the antenna beam will stay fixed pointing in that direction, and the aircraft is moving around the antenna beam. If the aircraft movement is exceeding the upper/lower or left/right limits of the antenna, you will loose your lock. That is what I noticed flying my MiG-29S

Think positive... Each of them represents only one of a wing or squad, so calculate 13 x 4 (average) pilots = 52

OK gents, now to something completely different ! Let's see if you not only can fly and fight, but also write some rhymes. Here is my contribution as a starter: A fighter pilot from Saki, He used to drink a lot Raki. He flew very fast, He flew very low. Now he’s grounded for doing malarkey !

In principle, all jets are flyable in Lock-On. In the MEInit.xml, the value HumanCockpit has to be set to "Yes", that's it. The Russian aircraft are all with Su-27 cockpit then, for the western types I don't know offhand.

If you log in at the web site http://lockon.co.uk/ you still can see your serial and how many activations are left (if any). Beside that, did you save your registry key before ? Saves you an activation key if you re-install Lock-On FC on the same hardware rig.

DCS: BS International customer not able to purchase
golfsierra2 replied to Airway's topic in Payment and Activation
This recommendation only is a workaround, the problem is with ED and the fact, that - despite it's technically and procedurally possible as British based Protx already has added this option to it's features offered - ED has not yet added Paypal as a payment option. It only depends on ED's decision to subscribe to Paypal as a verified account holder and by that, Protx and Paypal will be valid and safe payment options. See http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=36840 -
I'm asking ED to add the feature of the "PayPal Express Checkout" into the Protx payment options. Technically, it is foreseen to work as indicated below: "Protx has integrated with PayPal Express Checkout giving you the opportunity to add PayPal as a payment option on your payment pages! This facility is available to merchants who are a certified PayPal Business Account holder. If you do not already have a PayPal Business Account, then you can apply for a PayPal account now. This additional service can be included in your package at no additional cost. Standard PayPal transaction fees apply. Protx will only charge you our standard transaction rates, according to the Protx package you choose." Source: http://www.protx.com/paypal.asp If ED is not already a certified PayPal Business Account holder, I recommend to get an account now. For West European and US/CA costumers, paypal is a trustworthy, common and wide spread payment option. I can't see a good reason not to add this option, but many good reasons to do so. ED, please respond. Community, please support this idea by posting here.

ED-Files: I want to believe
golfsierra2 replied to golfsierra2's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Maybe that is the reason why they don't hear us - let's ask for a patch 1.14 then ! -
For some of them: Loop = true; sound is played in a loop, continuously Front = false; no sound if you see the aircraft in F2 from the nose, gives the direction in which sound is emitted (front, rear or both) Inside = 180; Same loudness inside and outside Outside = 180; Volume = 1.0; sound file is played with 100 % of the original sampling Radius = 1000; distance at which the sound fades out

Thanks, Rob. This is another good reason for a patch 1.13. Make Starforce Win 7 compatible !

Patch 1.13 and missile performance in FC
golfsierra2 posted a topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Speaking of the patch 1.13, I finally figured out what's wrong with the missile performance in FC and found the source that ED's programmers used to design the guidance systems: http://www.crc-mindreader.de/FC/MSL_Guidance.wav -
Any plans for a patch 1.13 or 1.2?
golfsierra2 replied to RedTiger's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I think that a patch 1.13 for FC was discussed at ED. And likely they looked into several options concerning - the amount of work that they would have to spent to fully fix existing problems vs available time due to other commitments / projects - the sequence of priority of current projects (of which 1.13 would be at the bottom) - a low cost / low effort patch 1.13 as the minimum option, only changing some parameters without reprogramming / developing missile/seeker models etc So I'm still convinced that there will be a patch 1.13 at a point in time, but don't expect too much of it. Maybe they just change some parameters altering the overall missiles performance, but not the physics model. Maybe they even fix the online-AAR-Bug (which I think could be done, because the AAR-simulation itself is available, it can't be used in MP due to a MP problem) Patch 1.13 will be done, but as a low cost, low effort contribution. In the end, it will not bring any money for ED, only motivate the community as the market / customers. -
ED-Files: I want to believe

Exactly !!! ROFL ! -
Sorry to hear that, m8. But I think that the CA planner team has learned from the previous hick ups and will do much better this time. Give them a chance !
-
OK, so what tactic should this be ? Mass launch of AIM-120s ? The last missile fired doesn't have a much better kill probability than the first one. All fired in a very short time, almost same distance and angle... most of them wasted ! If the first hits, it would have been enough. If the SU-33 jockey manages to escape the first one, he likely will evade all others too. Beside this: The ET entering from the lower right corner of the picture may result in a blue-on-blue (or red-on-red in this case) kill. The Su-33 is in between the shooter and the enemy F-15C. concrete, would you explain the meaning of posting this picture ?
