Got my SimShaker 908 yesterday and got my first shock when taking off with the MiG-21. This is an absolute tremendous experience! It just adds so much immersive feeling, almost unbelievable. The Warthog stick lacks FBB but this seat cushion definitely is making up for that. @Andrey, thank you so much for your support, you're doing a great job. Can't wait for the other effects to be implemented. :-)

To get the wing tanks refueled & light out I have to drop the wing tanks first and then refuel. If I do not drop the tanks before refueling the light won't go out.

Hi, I've changed the throttle axis setting for the thrust (JOY_Z) but whenever I start DCS it resets this setting back to default. In both the input-device as well as in the diff.lua file I can see the saved setting but if I go back into controls the default thrust setting is back again. This can also be seen as I removed the JOY_Z in the rudder & joystick device and saved the profiles but these also come back when I go into the control section. The other changes made to the devices (throttle, joystick & rudder) stay as changed. Deleted the saved games folder, no change. Did also the same change from within a mission, still the same. Is this a known bug? I've searched the forum but could not find it.

it seems that TM UK has 1 left in stock... http://shop.thrustmaster.com/en_gb/pc/joysticks/hotas-warthogtm.html

Hi, Since the implementation of the diff.lua I've had some problems. 1. Unit.lua This file in Saved Games keeps the name of the control profile that is loaded when DCS is loaded. But it will only work with "A-10C", "P-51D" or "TF-51D". Anything else will start with the "General" profile. It is annoying because because I mosty fly the SU-25. I now have to go back into Controls to make sure what profile is loaded each time I come out of a mission or start DCS. 2. Joystick & throttle. I'll give an example of the Electric Power Switch, I have this switch attached to switch 20 on the throttle for my SU-25 profile. Before I could change the line in the lua file: {down = iCommandPowerOnOff, up = iCommandPowerOnOff, name = 'Electric Power Switch', category = 'Systems'},. That made the switch work as it should, push it forward and the electric power is on, push it back and the power is off. Now I have to do this in two different files (depending on the specific switch) that are in the DCS programm directory, default.lua (specific for SU-25) and base_joystick_binding.lua (for all). This also leads to two entries in the screen for the SU-25 controls for each switch that has been changed. I do not see a solution in the diff.lua file as that is recreated each time you go into the Controls screen. hsth.

Hi, Would it be possible to add a torrent link into the updater? That way the server load might decrease as we all could seed the update to the various users. Huub.

What helped for me was to set the smooth control in TrackIR (see Motion Control box top left) higher. It seems to make the software not response so direct to every move.

Hi, thanks for the reminder, that was indeed the problem.

Hi, TrackIR is giving me problems in the SU-25T of DCS World. When the mission starts the view zooms out to its normal position. But then immediately jumps back forward, almost like zoomed in all the way. Setting Slider1 on the throttle to zoom in/out does not help. The screen jumps in/out when zooming and then jumps back to the zoomed in position. When I interrupt the TrackIR signal the view acts normal. As soon as the clip makes contact again the view pops back to the zoomed position. All this only happens in the SU-25T, not in the A-10C or P-51D. I've checked all threads (I think!) but could not find anything on this. Any ideas?

Hi, As I'm looking for an upgrade my new mothernoard will be the Asus® Rampage IV Extreme. Since DCS World is more CPU load what whould be a better choice, the i7 3960X or the Xeon™ E5-2687W? Since the latter is a dual processor I reckoned it would handle the load better. I've found different information on what would be best. Does anyone have experience on how DCS will perform with the Xeon?

Thanks for your reply, it now makes sense what's happening.

The solution for the relocation works fine for folders like My Documents, My Music etcetera. All MS Office will look for your files in the right place after relocating these directories. But, DCS doesn't. After relocating the Saved Games directory you'll find that after the first time you've started DCS you'll have two Saved Games directories. Despite that the first line in the me.log says that it uses the new location for Saved Games it also creates a new one in the users directory. And it keeps both directories updated.

Missions menu Since this weekend we now have multiple planes in DCS World. I like the path ED has taken for future developments. It will be much easier to overlook the total environment. For the training there is a menu to select training per plane. I feel that we are going to need a menu to select missions per plane also. Maybe even with a submenu per plane for user created missions.

Right, downloaded 4.97 Gb, seeded 5.12 Gb back into the community. Now the time has come to enyoiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Any thoughts how the add-ons are going to be sold? As I do not have a credit card I could not buy the beta version and had to wait for the box. So I hope there will be some other method of paying besides a credit card.:smilewink:

@Pfadfinder: These bat files might be helpful for future backup & restore of your settings. Just change the name of the disc where you want to keep a save copy of your settings.

yes, I understand. But you don't have an index specific for that part of the manual. With matching page numbers. I like to print it on A5 paper and put them in small binders. Now I have the same large index for different maps. Page numbers throughout the document can change and the one index will change for one or more of the smaller parts. Having separate manuals would overcome that problem. But, as the thread is called, it's just a wish or idea. :-)

Searched other threads but didn't see it mentioned before so apologies if I've missed it.. In my opinion it would be better to have the Flight Manual in multiple parts. The main chapters as they are now would be a good starting point. That way you don't have to print all 670+ pages for changes in specific parts. You would have an index specific for that part. A smaller manual would be cheaper to print and easier to use as a reference. If they would also be offered as separate manuals at the DCS online shop it would also be simpler for DCS to decide when to put it on the market.

Thanks for the quick response. I use a similar tool, GPU-Z, and as you can see in the attached picture it shows that the two cards are connected and that SLI is enabled for 4 GPU's. So why is it that the newer NVidia drivers report "SLI connection not found" when the software is installed?

Hi, I've searched a lot of places but no answers (possibly the wrong places...). My setup: Windows 7 64bit Ultimate. Asus P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard. Intel Core i7 Extreme 965 @ 3.20GHz. 12 GB memory. 2 xGTX295 (first model with 2 PCB's). In Matt's signature I see also GTX295 but not sure what model and/or driver he uses. My problem: the answers from ED about strange effects in DCS all point to update to the latest NVidia divers. Fair enough. But... When I install up to and including version 197.45 I can disable/enable SLI in the control panel. And in the SLI performance option I can select: - use globals setting - single GPU - force alternate frame rendering 1 & 2 - 3-GPU alternate frame rendering & 2 - 4-GPU alternate frame rendering & 2. The alternate options always give strange video effects like blue shimmering. Globals settings (SLI enabled) or single GPU are fine. Now, for DCS A-10C I wanted to update the drivers to the latest version as recommended by ED. Version 257 - 266 all don't offer SLI enable/disable but SLI disable or use 3D viewer. With the 3D viewer selected it shows four GPU's connected. Version 270 - 275 report "SLI connection not found" at the time of installing the software! And again, it's disable or 3D viewer. In the selection box however the global setting is gone for all these latest versions. It's just single or the alternate settings to choose from. It took me some time installing, uninstalling, cleaning etcetera 8 different driver versions but so far no good. The latest I could find on the NVidia forums about problems with the GTX295 is from last Februari. But no solution. So, my questions are: - has anybody else had this problem - has this card (particular model) been overlooked by NVidia - what version of NVidia driver does Matt use.

Updated training missions for v.1.1.0.8
hsth replied to EvilBivol-1's topic in Mission and Campaigns
Thanks very much, you guys seem to work weekends to please us! Can't be appreciated enough  -
After install of version 1.1.0.8 the training mission for Landing stops when setting the ILS frequency. That is to say, there seems to be no signal to the instructor that the dial has been set. I checked it again in version 1.1.0.7 and there it works correct. So I did the complete un- & install procedure but still the same. In version 1.1.0.8 the instructor does not come back.
