  1. Dcs don't host pictures, so I can't post any. Sorry.
  2. I left the sim, went shopping and a coffee and a chit chat. When I came back the chopper had crashed ??? WTF ??? It ran out of fuel...
  3. Are you so far in the ring, that you don't see it ? TSD is default 15 KM and that is low compared to most Sams EDIT: Rings shows up for me fine.
  4. Ahhhhhh !2 feet 0 vel. Have video proof but people might think I'm active pause....I was not.
  5. Sounds like the product program is interfering with DCS. Close program and launch DCS and see if it works now. Invert works for me on tm warthog lg wheel lg gamepad tm cougar st pedals.
  6. New try 1. To me the transition from forward (50+) to "hover" , for me it just falls off a cliff, that leads to a major increase in collective and since collective by numbers are high then low etc...it is very hard to control. 2. Since we dont have feel of ascend or descend then I go by indicator and the numbers and visual . 3. Casmo and the other real life people, you might have it dead on but you remember the feel an that does not translate to a simulator 1 to 1. 4. I'm in control until the cliff over moment, then I start to react and with too much input and poor cp/g , he is going to be scared and sick 5. It might a lack of skill but my major hang up is the transition between forward flight and hover mode, as I said balance moment. In a racing game, they got the tire sound way wrong and coming from a racing sim where that sound ment loss of traction. My friend first time around was way slower than me because he didn't know about the offset between sound and grip in this game. He's "feel" was based wrong, once I told him that this sound in this game was not equal to los of grip, we went back to the naturel order So i don't get it or I a not skilled enough. I can control the bird but for me it takes a lot effort that dosen 't compute to me. To me there is no sweet spot. I believe this a pin point machine and the only time I have been in a helicopter real life, it was steady as a rock.
  7. Please make the team make a sound file of their response and not in text
  8. Thx I will keep trying
  9. 1. Takeoff, all over the place. I'll add slow down and hover 2. Taxi, forget it 3. Controlled slowdown and land . I know it is a very sensitive control thing, every minute thing causes a change. It is about getting under control and why it might run away from me. I'm a missing a super trick either in control or my handeling ? ( will provide a video or track) Disclaimer: On speed flying in the Hornet or any plane was something I had never giving a thought, got my head around that and not always a 3 wire but now I get it... Sound is a main thing, are we complete on the Apache sound ? Love the challenge
  10. Ongoing project

  11. I couldn't advance power lever. Rotor break was on. check that
  12. I still see funky stuff in flir on the tads...but it is early days and it is progressing in the right direction @kharn thx
  13. Games wise, it is going to bee too good or too bad. I go for too bad with option to turn a knob or to, to learn something. Also think temperature, day in the desert where all is hot the contrast is minimal. Flipside is 10 guys walking on frozen ground, they will stand out as beacons. DCS wise ....it is a bloody big task to make the hole space Ir realistic. Our pc's would grind to a halt. So we get close to the real thing and sometimes better. Just play the cards you are dealt, because you will never in DCS get into classified territory. Real stuff can be great if it works as intended. Don't think DCS will start enforce random errors as standard. The balance of winning too hard or too easy is key. But you have very skilled and very unskilled peeps trying to be the best. Hard balance to juggle.
  14. I'm using Wags trackir profile from when ka-50 was launched.
  15. Hi all 1.Apache only, skins should make real world envy(optional) 2. Set on a map that all have stock So more can compete without having to buy a new terrain) 3. We need to be moving in all directions and yes backwards flying (over this, under that, slide left/right and backwards (use forward stuff for reference) 4. Timed of course (fast high risk or slow and complete) 5. crew size is optional put there might be extra points for a good cp/g heckle... Optional stuff on my mind. 1. human gunners to distract the pilot (not to hit) 2. streamed and having live spectators (maybe only the other competitors to heckle on the fly (anyone out of normal order can kiss their online life goodbye) Elaboration on that, we were 6 people live on a il-2 dogfight between some very skilled people and it was great. Main goal is that to have a ton of fun. (prizes for all sort of things) Must stress this is the pitch nothing else. You all have a chance since I will be commentator and not competing ( "easy way to get out of being a subpar pilot....what u saying bro?" and so on. .
  16. I might be up for that. You hover and I do control mapping, when i come back... If you not on the dime ..it's crime Where you from ? I'm fluent in English with heavy local accent
  17. Thanks
  18. Ok dialed in somewhat....(control/keys etc.) Sore muscles and many brain farts later. Time to just do it and see what happens. Perfect no, but I did what I set out to do and didn't brake the square monster of monsters I flied to fly and not to make a video. The video was an after thought. Cutouts are 4-6 minutes of flying to and from. If I can then you can better if you put in the work... Enjoy!
  19. After pressing CORD I missed the press of T1. We should start a tsd bonza of inputs screenshots
  20. Thanks guys
  21. Hi all Seems to me some of the "logic" from the F-18 crept into the Apache...sigh 1. So I've added a point and want to add it to route ? 2. If I go into atack faze and make tgt points and go cord page i can pick and choose. Where I'm coming from. Old f-16 sim guy and the basic F-16 mfd is logic (to me). Is the logic ? 1. Action -> category -> select point -> confirm or 2. Action -> category -> select point -> done and put in system. I guess if I get the logic, I can make it work. (dooh) but you know what I mean My F-16 dms switch magic does not apply to the apache .. Sorry if all over the place...I talk better than text..be a million
  22. Thx and I am lurking on the Casmo discord Don't have the Syria map. Do find it good fun to see Casmo, when he goes into "nervous flier mode", when flying with randoms
  23. @RodBorzaThat was the video i thought was made by RedKite. I'll go back and fix that post Thx for the input
  24. Thanks. Yes and no, The curve helps a lot but the pedals are worn. They are not spiking and I been away from the dancefloor for years . It was a "Phil Style" video on the spitfire and curves, that got looking deeper into that
  25. Hi all. For the start, like many others, had a hard time controlling the bird. What helped me was, acquire knowledge and keep trying. First for me was my actual controls, check for center play and make deadzones (my Warthog is from day one and rudder pedals are the saitek/now logitech.) My rudders pedals were bad, so 6 million screws later, cleaned and lubed. They are not super smooth but better after cleaning. Biggest thing was to put 25 curve on them. Tral and error, it is a grind but those hours pays of in spades. Will there come a day for me when I don't fly with the control window up ? I have 12 hours and so far no. I could have a hotas command for on and off, if I get a Casmo moment ;), but for know it stays on. Flying wise, slowing down demanded a lot more input and attention to detail, So practice and anticipate like you have never done before. Systems, still working on my cp/g setup, watching a lot of videos. Frustration: yes there are bugs, but 80% is just bad handeling. Flying a helicopter is hard. Night, I'm not even close to doing nights but it will come if I put in the effort. Fun and tough so far for me. Thanks for the opportunity DCS
