DCS: F-16C Viper Screenshots and Videos (NO DISCUSSION)
macedk replied to wilbur81's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Oh well. -
It was ok for a quick test and it was not a recreation. I used OBS to record it and I need to tweak OBS a bit more. 9 minutes was 2.9 GB in disk size. I did had some pauses but had many other things going on (google tabs galore) ;), so nothing to conclude. Overall it was fine IMO. And we have come a lot closer to simulate special D. I did have a moment of confusion at 4.39. Hence the pullup.

I'll take ED practice over far bigger companies any day. But in fairness, they tested today and found something and let's say it was a hard showstopper. The fallout of delaying 1 day...1 day, compared to ALL players let down. It is so easy to forget how we react when we are on the other side. I bet many have some comments about their customers or bosses and when the fault is on you then you might make the same argument that you see from ED. It is ok to feel disappointed but lasing out is not the way and rarely helps. Wife will just leave you faster and you are clueless ;). Do we really think an angry forum post will speed up the release ? A other game has made 100 times more than DCS and is still in alpha and people are poring money into it. So do another thing and ED is loving that you have passion for their product. Just be constructive on the comment instead of firing blindly....you can practice that elsewhere you are on it sir!

Oh no I'm air refueling a F-16 in multiplayer with 3 others waiting.... If you leave a module because you took it to the limit in public and were subpar to the aces you were flying with, You are doing yourself a disservice! Does the Apache ask a lot of your skills ?, yes it does and if you come from a fighter jet, pushing you forward like a bat of hell, then yes it is very different. BUT to master a helicopter is the real deal, you are know the holder of one of the most difficult things to keep in control in the sky. Since this is a sim, go bonkers to get the controls right. Fly it like you stole it. Then we can work on tactics and combat etc. It is a challenge and a great one. If you want points and medals then this it not for you, if you want respect and praise, keep working and get it right. In no order, air refuel an F-16, land a F-18 on a carrier and master a combat helicopter. In the apache you can even have a human with ya to mock you and keep you motivated :). Shameless plug, but no kickback(yet ;)) Go watch 104th Maverick, maybe a naturel but I suspect he took his time to get good and he is very good. At last, some setup on all fronts is required, gfx, controls, etc. Plenty of forums, videos , even by real pilots. I had myself and a dream and an idea...no help. Many years ago You have the world.....go get it

F-16 Flight hours For Danish air force was cut and replaced with more sim time. Now the situation in Europe has changed and I guess this will reverse in the coming future. We all hope for a nice juicy gov. contract, which may trickle onto the DCS team

My thought as well

Original post is from March 17th. NL, maybe a update on this. Seems fixed to me

Is it going to be worth going 3090 to 4090?
macedk replied to Digitalvole's topic in Virtual Reality
Yes and I know the vr people are struggling. -
Is it going to be worth going 3090 to 4090?
macedk replied to Digitalvole's topic in Virtual Reality
Price on product .... nope. My take, it is insane for a gaming rig. For all in one machine sure, if you are crypto content creation and running ai simulations. The new fake frame insert to boost fps will introduce inputlag. If you have a 240hz display and can average 120 fps, you won't notice. If 3 out 4 frames are fake and count towards the fps...ehh what now ? You will prolly need a new psu mb and cpu and ram to take full advantage. Dcs (sorry) is not a title to fully use the Nvidia architecture. I'm using a tricked out 2017 system and still enjoy DCS fine. nv 1080 32ram 4.5 gig cpu and ssd's acroos the board. Energy crisis in Europe and inflation, If you can wait, unless you want best gfx over, heat food, family welfare, vacation etc. :). Also brand new tech and many companies of other components are not on par yet. If you really want this, wait at least 3 months to get some decent drivers across the board. In relation to DCS it depends what you are trying to do. 10.000 units all in play and moving, contact Google for a hardline for internet and rent a Google server park. No 4090 will help. To DCS and community's credit, there is a ton of workarounds to make you current battlespace smooth. And trust me, DCS want to be good on any platform, the more that play the better. You make a killer mission for multiplayer but you are only one that can play it without stutter, what's the point. I was blessed in 2017 where i won a pc and chose parts and bulid it myself. Other companies in the tech space think we have unlimited money and will force us to buy new to be able to take part. DCS in my view is not like that. Thanks for that. Oh yeah you need a new case aswell, 4090 won't fit in your existing one... -
Been using tir since tir 3 and only issue was that I literally killed a tir 5 from over using :). I have seen a wacky profile loss 2 months ago but I put that down to windows/usb at best, not gfx drivers or games. As the wise people once said, do not go down the rabbit hole. If in doubt then you are deep in the rabbit hole :). Younger people might know this with other words, like Tiktok, youtube, facebook or instagram. Still a goddamn rabbit hole. And for you savy flight people, Cougar said it in 1986, yes he used other words. So words were said 36 years ago...36. Sidenote, we had a game called lemmings and many did not get the connection to humans. Did lemmings evolve into humans or was it in reverse Rabbit hole ...eh what "I don't get it" . hmm camo pothole that will keep you ? Best of the top of my head...sorry

I like the new Top gun movie but love the old one. Points for me: Original Top Gun. 1. I had never seen footage that good and up close from an aircraft carrier. It was amazing. 2. Cool story (at that time real was an option and the "mig" number and undisclosed combat location was fine. 3. Sound was amazing and it is just a cool jet (First fighter love, later F-16) 4. Story, tempo and characters was great, the tie in with Goose's wife was short but on point. 5. At the time I believed and would relate to the magic of movies, I was right there. New Top gun: 1. The things that are comparable with the original film are done ok not great. 2. Story, just no, because the world is now an open source and I bet that many of us old Top Gun watchers have sucked the internet dry of any information on F-14 and Carriers. 3. The feels scenes are done well and many of us old dudes can relate to be the seasoned guy ;). 4. You ask me to forget Top Gun and look with "fresh" eyes, Sorry I'm not that good. 5. It has good moments and is not a bad sequel but imagine they took out the reference to Top Gun, then it would be a very bad movie IMO. But I'm very biased as I see and follow a lot of military aviation. And to the young ones, you lucky B#¤%¤#%s, I whish I had this platform in my youth :). To DCS, you are not there and will never be but you guys are the closets ones, keep it up.

correct as is Can't add apache from the mission editor
macedk replied to Harry_Bumcrack's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yep and we have all seen things, in the computer world, that makes no god dang sense but it happened :). I like anyone else is frustrated when a new patch breaks a working thing, but that does not mean I can't relate or understand. -
What makes the Apache the most difficult helicopter module to fly?
macedk replied to Schmidtfire's topic in DCS: AH-64D
To help you, I will give you an compare to work from. Flying Apache is like balancing 5 eggs on each fingertip, while under the influence of 18 vodkashots....Blindfolded. Even with curves it just takes a lot of small corrections. If you have the controls windows up, in my finding, if the red cross is more than two crosses width from the perfect control input, it feels like a massive over correction. Also compared to a fighter jet, A helicopters control surface is really really small. Some call it agile , some will call it out of control :). I find that the curves can compensate for my lack of skill but if too much the helicopter feels like flying a brick. One of my things is predicting the moves of the apache. Practice a lot -
1. Real world is not simulated here. Real world combat is a lot tougher than in whatever sim! 2. yes there are hick ups, it is a super complicated system, remember they are living off this product, they try their hardest to make it work. Bluntly: good work makes for food on the table. 3. It is now moving at a pace where us "we want it all" And we can not keep up anymore. It took DCS a lot longer that we hoped for but we are getting damn close. 4. I'll never forget the p-51 launch, all called for realism and once we got it, damn it is too tough to fly etc. Well they had real world data and their own friggin plane. We got what we asked for and we still bitch.... 5. Think twice before just running off with a thing. BUT if something is not right, yeah give em the beans but in a nice constructive way. We build together. Just be nicer overall.
