Ok, I understand about the dark textures and it's all fine. You wouldn't need cockpit lights in daylight of course. The question is about the lights when it's really dark, like 2 AM. I'll post the screenshots again. This is instruments illumination in daylight 9 AM and this is instruments illumination in night 2 AM Why they look so different?
-
The dark cockpit in daylight is a minor problem, the thing is that you see sh*t in the night.
-
Issue with the cockpit lighting. As Kuky mentioned when you turn it on in daylight it renders the cockpit panels black with nice red illumination. Trouble is that in the darkest night it is very weak, practically you can't see anything. Screens attached. I read about the 4 lights in the manual but that doesn't help the situation.

Nope, MFD graphics of the stock planes are steady as rock here though 6 DOF is much more wide now. just HUD is indication is moving (disappearing) like it should. BTW, still no luck with the dragging chute - the only way so see it is by pressing the brakes and shows up while brakes are applied and speed is less than 150 km/h. The brakes are uber effective though so no need of it ;)
-
I think he means that the MFD indication is off the radar screen, when you move your head around. BTW, others asked about it as well - can this be fixed? Because the 6DOF doesn't affect the MFD for the MiG-29 and Su-27/33, only the HUD because it's focused in infinity.

Rgr that, it's all good. You can still use it in similar manner - approach low and fast, over fly the target and do a loop with moderate G and then drop it on the way down after half roll on the dive.

Yes, I meant CCIP, thanks.

Question about the nuke - now to get a drop authorization you have to fulfill 2 requirements - barometric altitude more than 4000m and dive angle more than 45 degrees. IRL tactical nukes from fighters are meant to be dropped from immelman - low level high speed ingress, vertical pull where the bomb is released automatically and opens a chute at the top point. Now I know this is not possible to be modeled in LO but what's the idea of this limitation in the mod - avoiding self damage?
-
Just 70% curve, the rest is default - no dead zone, 100% saturation on X and Y. It really makes a difference between idle and 90-95% - much slower acceleration. Kinda feels more realistic IMO up to that RPM. If you kick the throttle full forward it accelerates same as for linear function. Any chance of adding Bulgaria in the countries? Along with Romania with their Lancers and Serbia we're the only ones in Europe that still operates this legend. And it's not just still flying but giving 24/7 NATO air policing duty.
-
I'm experimenting with some curve (70%) of the thrust axis. It can't change the total engine acceleration (instantly pushing from idle to full power it takes about 3.5 sec until it's reached) but can make me work harder with the left hand.
-
Is the engine acceleration tunable? Because right now it's too high. Th R-25-300 engine is from old generation and is known with poor acceleration, also AB takes longer to lighten up to full power but I think this is minor. Engine RPM though should increase/decrease much slower following the throttle movement.

Normally you climb out without A/B and at 10k m level out and kick it - this is typical profile for max Mach with the 21. I hit Mach 2 with no problem. It's just getting better and better - just tried the tactical nuke, look what I did to Sochi :D

Yes, I understand that FC2's code limits you a lot but in any case your work is outstanding. I really feel in early 70's with that plane :) About the center tank - I know that but right now the tank is not even touching the pylon. It's very minor, saw it and thought it's worth mention it. Is there an option in real life for manual deployment of the chute? Also, I made a simple 1v1 mission with a Norway F-16 MLU but it appears as MiG-21 bis.

You have modeled 21's radar in a very smart manner. I understand that FC2's code gives a lot of limitations but what I just saw was impressive: - only one range - 25km- pretty much the ideal max range that RP-21 is able to "see" snything - locking range of about 17-18km - target designator moving only in range (up-down), for left right you have to maneuver the whole aircraft :) - no look-down ability, no look-up ability i.e. just no radar elevation - no VS mode or any other automatic lock feature BTW, are you sure about the BORE mode? Also, if you can get rid of the radar frequency change would be also good because the RP-21 is not a doppler radar. Few items I noticed: - the drag chute doesn't work, though the brakes are mega effective :) - the gun pipper is broken - it's way off from the aiming circle all the time, thus only funnel sight - the center drop tank appears a bit off from the pylon Other than that - truly amazing mod!!! The aircraft handles just great, especially I like the landing - waaaaay faster than usual :D

First impression is - speachless........... Few shots

I second that. I never thought a 3rd party add-on could go so deep and bring this flying legend on my desktop that way. Amazing work beczl

Thanks, that worked

Can someone please mirror it because it gives me file not found both with IE and Firefox.

Фланкер, что это за мод?

The US got around 20 MiG-29's from Moldova in 1997, most of them have not been airworthy. I've just seen pictures of them been loaded to C-17's, then in 1998 I read that launches of R-73's have been conducted in US and that the most interesting things have been the jammer (yes, there have been 9-13S among them) and the HMS. The Pentagon's official statement was that they are getting them to avoid the planes to reach Iran, especially the 9-13S which are able to carry one nuclear bomb RN-40 on the inner left pylon. I never ever read or heard anything about the 29's in the US. I thought they would form an agressor squadron with them but I guess they've realized that it's much cheaper to use the german and now bulgarian 29's instead.

The oxygen problem seems to be going deeper. After the restriction to fly above 25k ft now the entire F-22 fleet is grounded till solution is found. http://edition.cnn.com/2011/US/05/05/raptors.grounded/index.html?hpt=T2

Problems with F-22's oxygen system - till the investigation ends the operational ceiling has been limited to 25000 ft. http://www.defensenews.com/story.php?i=6041977&c=AIR&s=AMEurl

Seems like a MANPAD to me.
