  1. Just a little FYI, what your priorities are for the map are not everyone else's necessarily. A hell of lot happened in the area being concentrated on first. I get that it might not be of general interest or maybe even personal to you, but it is to others. Buy it or don't buy it, pretty simple. And just generally in response to the whole thread, ED have repeatedly now said the whole country is coming as development progresses, so its rather pointless anyone complaining there personal focus area isn't at the fore. Maybe I'm more easily pleased than many other DCS users appear to be, but I've always enjoyed getting modules and maps at early access, and reading each patch notes as to find out what new toys and bits I'm getting next. Same will happen with this map. I'm particularly looking forward to flying over the Hindu Kush in the future.
  2. He has no idea, just like everyone else.
  3. Correct, you can delete.
  4. Thats working, thanks @Solo_Turk
  5. I've just done a DCS re install on a new computer last night and my Normandy map is missing from my module manger so I can't install it at the moment.
  6. I've just been installing DCS on a new computer and my Normandy is missing from my module manager to. Edit, seems to be a known problem,
  7. This. In a hot start, the radar is not turned on at spawn.
  8. Sure. If Wessex uses its alternative spelling of C.O.B.R.A.
  9. Are you slewing in the hud, or in the TGP. Hud slewing is always very quick. In the TGP the further zoomed in you are the slower the slew.
  10. Don't know exactly where it is in a steam install, but on a standalone install, its in here, D:\Eagle Dynamics Beta\DCS World\bin-mt
  11. It's automatic. You don't have or need a TOI key. A steerpoint is automatically a target point for weapons.
  12. One reason could be you're using the single thread executable and not the multithread executable.
  13. Thanks! Been wondering about that for ages! At least I know the more important part now, of why its actually SB, if not why they decided to be different!
  14. Something about the F-15E RWR that I would like to know, why do all the other US planes seem to use 29 for the MiG-29/Su-27 family, but the F-15E uses SB? There must be some reason!
  15. E2.... (for Wombat I'm guessing).
  16. You can get away with a 10nm pull up in the F-15, and the SA-15 won't even fire. At 9nm the SA-15 will fire, but the advantage is the JDAM will reach terminal parameters, I don't think it quite does at 10nm, but was good enough for a hit in this example.
  17. It sounds from what you wrote, The target wasn't being detected by anyone elses radar, so wasn't being shared through datalink, Then appeared on the HSD due to your radar seeing the target.
  18. I had no idea Virpil had deadband enabled by default in their controllers, Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Not only has it made the Apache wayyyy better, but AAR is also so much easier in Jets! Thanks
  19. Here's a really easy way of getting a steerpoint onto a target of opportunity, 5 button presses....
  20. I've never over G'd in normal flying, however I did spectacularly when I switched back to in cockpit after watching my Jdams impacting a few days ago, and was moments from hitting the ground. The resulting snatch back on the stick bent both of the wings and made for an interesting flight back and landing.
  21. I will preface this with horses for courses, but my own personal opinion is different for what its worth. I have many hours in all 3 of the virtual planes dcs gives us you mention, but using your example of 4 different targets within a couple of miles, if you are set up already to use jdams in the Viper, all you have to do is move the tgp over each target, and press weapon release, no other button is needed. This is due to the SPI logic that is also present in the A-10, which i much prefer. I thought i wouldn't like the Mudhen because of the Hornet and same manufacturer, but i don't dislike the flow in the Mudhen anywhere near as much. I'm actually enjoying the Mudhen way more than I thought i would! Anyway, each to their own.
  22. Yes, but its just the same if you create the steerpoints on the UFC once you spawn into a mission.
  23. Using the example you quoted from @davidrbarnette, no way is it quicker to drop a jdam with the Hornet. The Hornets workflow is truly horrible, everything that takes one press in the Viper takes at least 3 in the Hornet. This is not true, any weapon that lets you use CCIP, DTOS or VIS mode (I'm struggling to think of any weapon that you can't use in one of those 3 modes ) does not need a steerpoint anywhere near the target.
  24. Does anyone know how to in weapon memory mode, copy the coordinates from the nav on to a Jdam? In the manual it says, I am presuming this means that if you have a '2.A' type of waypoint it should be possible to upload it to the bomb, but I can only see how to transfer using the Tpod, How do you change the source of the transfer? Edit, nevermind, have worked it out.
  25. That's weird, I find the Vipers workflow the easiest and most streamlined of all the jets, by a long way. Funny how different people perceive the same thing! Or you just simply use the Helmet to cue the Tpod, much simpler..... It automatically becomes your SPI and you can deploy weapons instantly.
