  1. If you are using TrackIR, it doesn't do anything IIRC. Before I had TrackIR, I would need to use this key bind to be able to get the yellow crosshair to click in the cockpit. When I hit it again, I was able to move my view around with my mouse. When in Track IR, the crosshair is always there because it is tracking your head movement and the mouse is free to click on things.
  2. I set up a dedicated machine to do this over the weekend. It worked really well and the replays are clean. No Issues. Ive chosen to record my pit view live and then record external replays using the server tracks. Thanks for the help
  3. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I don't mind using server replay tracks, but I don't want to install a second instance of DCS on my PC. I have a spare PC running various things for my home network, but isn't necessarily powerful by any means. (i3 with 4gb ram) It is an old Dell Optiplex desktop running Server 2016 on an SSD. I mainly play single player with maybe 20 or 30 assets total on the mission, including the SC. I usually populate the carrier deck with at least 10 or so static aircraft too. I use single player for carrier case I and III practice, AAR and AG practice too. Do you know how much resource is required to just host a mission? I have no experience with this and don't want to ruin the experience just so I can record. I would only be running this server for recording purposes.
  4. I like to do air starts 10 miles behind the carrier to practice my Case I recoveries in the F14. If I have a particularly nice landing I like to watch the track back. I notice that when I watch the track on any other AC it works fine but if I watch back with the F14 it seems to start out well and by a minute or two in to the track it starts to do its own thing, fly in circles, land on the water, and seemingly nothing ive done is played back. I don't have this issue with other aircraft. I am running OB 2.7. Is this an issue others are having? If so, is it something that can be addressed.
  5. As the title says, when I switch my HUD to Landing in the A or B, DCS CTD. Anyone else having this issue?
  6. I highly recommend transferring all purchases from steam to standalone. You will always have the updates sooner, the sales are better and usually go for an extended period of time. I think steam limits sales to 1 or 2 weeks max. IMO there is no benefit to running the steam version when all your modules can transfer to standalone.
  7. I just saw that someone posted that their PC time didnt change automatically and that setting it to the correct time fixed the issue. Maybe this is happening to you as well?
  8. Ok, Id start by trying out some other servers as a test (I think you can try out some hoggit servers for new players). You can also create a simple mission, go in to multiplayer and then play that mission online and have buddy join up if you can to test things out. I am interested to see if its just the online environment (something you host) or if its the something about the GR server that is messing things up for you. I am sure if its a GR server there are a lot of assets to load in their missions. Do you have a strong network connection? (Run a speed test. Google search "Speed Test" if you havent done one before) Make sure you are always wired in if possible. I doubt a Graphics Driver would cause this. I am running almost identical hardware to you other than the cpu (2600) and I do not have any issues with this. Good luck. Let me know if you have any other questions, I may be able to help
  9. Strange. I feel like if it were a hardware issue, it would be happening in SP for sure. It would makes sense that it could be network related simply based off the fact that its happening in MP only. Did you try different MP servers? Have you tried hosting your own mission and seeing if it happens there? Are you able to recreate the issue every time or is it truly random? I am sorry if I am no help here, but I do not know what to look for in the logs.
  10. Have you tried running a repair yet? Does this only happen during multiplayer? https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/repair/
  11. Hi, Ive been away from DCS for a few months. Is there still no way to remove the pop up IFLOLS in game or do you still need to edit a file after each update?
  12. I had this issue for a while. I ran the throttle to a powered USB hub in to a PCI USB card. Seemed to fix the issue and have no had ghosting since.
  13. Is your carrier moving forward or standing still?
  14. I dont fly VR but to change the default head position, tap the 5 key on your numpad, set the position how you like it then hold either rctrl or ralt and press 0 on the numpad. This will set your default view. I cant remember if it's ctrl or alt but only one will work.
  15. Is it possible to have the probe removed by default so the air starts that I have set can already have it removed? The only way I know how to do this as of now is to use the ground crew.
  16. Yeah, go to C:\Users\*Username*\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\ and you will see the mapping files there. You will need to go in game, choose the module you want to edit in settings > Controls then say you want to add the map for your throttle, choose the throttle column header then choose load profile, navigate to the location above and choose the lua for the throttle. For example, my F15C throttle profile looks like this: X56 H.O.T.A.S. Throttle {F3F60470-6117-11ea-8005-444553540000}.diff.lua Repeat this for all modules you want to add mappings for. I am not sure if there is a way to do this in bulk, so if anyone knows, please add
  17. The file edit a few pages back works well and is a solution for the meantime if you really want the overlay removed. I have not seen IC issues yet either.
  18. This is not a bug as far as I know. This was the same in the previous builds. If the comms menu is open, you can not use the mouse view or close the menu from the track as far as I know. It would be helpful since we are going to be using the comms menu a lot more now to interact with the carrier. This makes getting good replay shots difficult. If there is a way around this I would like to know as well.
  19. Is anyone else having an issue where if you copy and paste a static unit and then click to reposition it, it snaps to the center of the boat? This was no happening before the update.
  20. Not sure if anyone will know this or not, but I am wondering if the background image for the F18 module was taken in game or is that a special rendered image? I can not get that quality of image in game so it has me wondering how they achieved that quality.
  21. I got mine from here when no one had one. https://www.mypilotstore.com/MyPilotStore/sep/11071 This is my Xbox Controller Profile. X thottle down. Y throttle Up, triggers for rudder, left stick for stick control and right for view. B is landing gear I think. Feel free to mess with it, but it got me buy until I got my HOTAS. Controller (Xbox One For Windows) {7180B0C0-FE0D-11e9-8001-444553540000}.diff.lua
  22. Thanks so much for the detailed reply! I have a spare Dell Optiplex sitting around from work. I think it has 8gbs of RAM. Just for hosting a server for DCS do you think it could get the job done? It doesnt seem like the VM you have is too spec'd out and it would be dedicated to this task.
  23. Welcome! Always great to have new people in the community. Can I ask you for some details on the VM that you built and how powerful your machine is/how many resources you allocated to the VM? I want to build a server as well and this is a great idea. I wanted to know how much power is needed to run a server and what your experience was performance wise with the VM. Before I build a machine myself it would be great to have some insight!
