  1. Isnt the sas all set up except for the arming of the pitch and yaw trim plus the depression of the TO trim button? Maybe I need to hold down the TO trim longer. When I get home I'll check the sas panel.....perhaps it's not set to weight and gyro effects when you ramp start.
  2. I'm pretty sure there aren't any mapped to the same device. Maybe the axis aren't calibrated. I haven't heard anything about axis calibration on the Warthog. I was assuming the the Warthog auto calibrates at computer startup. I don't know..it just doesn't fly right. For example, at takeoff as i rotate 10 degrees and get airborne the jet is immediately rolling a bit and yawing a bit with no cross wind. Before i've even cleared the center line of the runway I'm a good 10 degrees off center line of runway heading.
  3. I've noticed that when i fly the jet immedietly after takeoff is incredibly loose. The jet seems way out of trim and needs a fair amount of trimming in pitch and roll to get it stable in the air. I'm running my elite rudders throught the cougar base, but i haven't touched any settings in the cougar control panel or anything and i notice that cougar axis are still recognized in A10C. I was thinking that the fact that these dx axis are still active could be the reason why the jet seems way off. Is it okay to just disable all dx axis in the ccp except the rudder axis so I lose all inputs from the cougar due to spiking etc... but just leave the rudder dx axis in the ccp active and still have the rudders work through the cougar base? or do i need the the cougar fully functioning in order to utilize my pedals? I do have SAS fully enabled in the sim which was my first inclination or maybe there is something else im doing wrong here. thanks for any help.
  4. Is it not advisable to update the firmware from within TARGET by clicking the the "update firmware" highlighted link in the GUI?
  5. This is a stupid question but how do you update the firmware? I know in target their is a firmware update problem in the device windows but is it just clicking that link or is it just a matter of running the update by opening the file like you would any .exe? Also is flashing with additional controllers attached advisable like The cougar? Thanks
  6. I think my problem was with the lgb run that I didn't let the laser lock to their designated target but set the left target as soi.
  7. I've been running different JTAC scenarios. First one I engaged infantry... all wen pretty smooth.. i was tasked to engage with CBU-97's, but the jfac didn't mark with smoke with or anything and with out a TGP on board the best I could do was Hook the target location and make it SPI then dropped 2x CPU-97's (CCIP). I killed a couple of them but also took out some of my guys.. anyway it went as planned. HOwever, was trying a few guided bomb directed attacks. Confirmed 9 line with jtac, made the laser on call. Called the spot.. all looking good.. had the tgp on my target but as the then the jtac called abort. I tried a couple of times with same outcome. anybody know why that is? Also, I've set the jtac to group activate at a trigger.. and it does but i'm not getting the message that I made in the mission editor in the trigger command window. I'm forced to radio the JTAC myself. I have the JTAC, aggressors, and message from the Jtac activate all tied to a once trigger command. Is this okay, or do I have to set up 3 separate "once" instances for each AI action? Thanks for any help>
  8. You can just load preset frequencies for all three radios ( VHF1, UHF, VHF2) Just set the preset wheel to whatever number preset, dial in your frequency, depress load and that frequency is on preset 1 or whatever. For the UHF panel the load button is under a cover you have to open up.
  9. I've watched the .trk files and think they are great. Very helpful in trying to get my head around JTAC/JFAC and how things play out. However, I have one question, and this really has nothing to do with the subject of the post, but how what did you do to get that perfectly centered cockpit view while you are flying? That's the view I've been trying to acheive as default with TrackIR and I haven't been able to get it. I know its a stupid question but just thought I'd ask. Again, thanks for the .trk and .miz files.
  10. Does anybody happen to know roughly what the x,y, and z coordinates of the HUD and warning lights panel are? I'm trying to adjust the .lua for snap views to give me a perfectly centered zoomed in HUD and warning lights panel. Thanks for any assistance.
  11. I can get to the divert page but there are no frequencies. The frequencies are on the page immediately following the selection of the airfield with the corresponding LSK. When I do this in order to get back my flight plan I have to re-upload all original data from the cdu. I was just inquiring if there was a quick way to get the frequencies without losing the flight plan from the cdu. I think on the divert cdu page it gives NM from current position, but no tower frequencies unless you select the airfield.
  12. I've been reading the manual trying to get info on how to get ATC frequencies for the various airport towers via the CDU. I've only been able to obtain them by keying in a divert steerpoint via the Nav page. When i do this and hit the FSK correspoinding to my airfield i get the frequencies but then in order to get my flight plan back I have to re-upload original nav data which takes a little time with my eyes in the cockpit and not out while im flying. There has got to be a quicker way to call up landing strip frequencies whithout clearing all the flight plan data. Anybody know how this is done? Any help would be great and much appreciated. Thanks
  13. I'm trying to map the wheelbrakes to the paddle of the warthog on the stick. I'm not running any custom map through trarget. I've been just trying to set it in the axis assign box in game and it won't autodeect the axis and I don't know the axis of the paddle on the stick to assign it manually. Thanks for any help
  14. I think this is awesome. Hoever, I'm having trouble saving my changes. It keeps telling me i don't have permission to overwrite files. I'm using W7 Utimate. Did you have the same problems and if so how did you get around it? thanks
  15. Perfect. That's exactly what I was looking for. My neck thanks you so much.
  16. I'm having trouble and really straining my neck using track Ir to get decent top down views of both the left and right consoles to either side of the pilot. Ibe tried snap views but there aren't any that show the entire thing just a very small zoomed portion of it. Is there a way to modify them or a keystroke I'm missing? Thanks for any help?
  17. Yes! I love it but I now want more switches. Barring a huge footprint I would have paid alot more if they designed the same throttle but extended more in the front to encompass the ahcp left control switches. ( just fantasizing here)
  18. I love it. Just the lack of Play on the stick compared to the cougar is heaven. Don't get me wrong I love my cougar and use it for sims like fc2 and to piggyback my elite pedals off of for Dcs. The o e thing I'm not liking though thus Far is the coolie hat On the throttle. Seems a little clumsy for me but I guess it will take a little getting used to before it becomes comfortable.
  19. I don't think its a hardware issue, but after installing the Warthog I now have both the Hog and Cougar hooked up to my cpu. Everything works great except now in FC2 my microstick isn't responsive. Will not move the TDC. I haven't changed anything in the profile I"m using ( It's Vipers FC2 for the Cougar v1.1) or any axis assignments from within the sim. When i move my mouse the TDC moves as if i'm using the microstick. I have the TDC slew commands set under the mouse column in options/controls to X and Y respectively. Thats the way I had it set up before and the microstick slew the TDC. Any help would be great and very appreciated. Thanks.
  20. Im having a problem getting the microstick to work. I've been using your profile for quite some time now and it's been working prefectly. I recently hooked up the Warthog to my computer with still the cougar plugged in and everything seems to be fine. I still use my cougar for sims like FC2 but since the warthog is hooked up the microstick isn't responding in the sim. The mouse x and Y axis are set to X and Y as before and when i move the mouse the tdc cursor moves buy my microstick isn't doing anything.
  21. I think since you ran Dcs with target running you remapped the stick and need to reset the warthog to defaults by erasing a few files. There was a post explaining how to reset the stick for those who ran target while running Dcs. You didn't write over anything but those new user made files that were created need to be erased.
  22. Fc2 wouldn't have a lua file for the warthog like Dcs does. The warthThog is a replica of the actual stick and throttle so the mappings would make sense to match the actual plane. Fc2 has multiple aircraft with different hotas' that aren't = to the hogs hotas. You have to emulate your prefered mappings to your liking with target by running it in the background. Sort of like CCP for the cougar does when you hit the big green button. Target is an emulator. If I understand it correctly.
  23. Thanks for the explanation. Very much appreciated. Now I understand the convenience of the quick fly functionality from within target.
  24. I've played with the software, but haven't gone as far as running a config file or loading it into the stick. Really just familiarizing myself with the software. The reason I ask this is that currently I'm using my TM Elites for rudders connected to my Cougar (works nicely if you only have gameport rudders for use in A10C) and I'd really like to use the Warthog with FC2 instead of my cougar. Currently I'm just moving the hardware around on my desk depending on what sim I'm going to fly. I noticed that there are stock files in TARGET currently, such as a files for BS, IL2, FC2-F15, etc.. but no stock file ( or I guess .TMC) for DCS A10 ( makes sense since the mappings aren't finalized yet).
