you need to alter the views .lua file located in the config/views folder. I'm not at my computer to give you mine but i think Hassata has done this and has a thread explaining what line does what.

strafing a column of moving vehicles would be good.

Awesome Sandman. Like yourself, I use a two monitor setup and neither one is touchscreen so my helios profile is all touch. Great work.

Although I sympathize with the few people who feel let down that there favorite plane is not on DCSs development horizon, I think a lot of this animosity towards DCS at the announcement that the next aircraft they are working on is a fixed wing from the US is a bit ungracious. I think we all are aware at the overall lack thereof of military flight simulator development, that is anywhere near the fidelity and quality that DCS has and will produce, is scarce for the average lounge chair pilot. To say that you will not support future products from DCS because a certain plane from a certain country is not the centerpiece is just doing the community a huge disservice. Although I sympathize with those few 636_Castle makes some very valid points. And just for the record, even if DCS decided to do an aircraft I had absolutely not a shred of interest in on any level, I would still purchase the sim in support of what few devs are out there willing to put the time and resources in to develop an extremely hight level of realism flight simulator. I don't want to have as one day my only flight sim option to be Hawx 10 or whatever..

Welcome. I second what everybody else has suggested. Since the sim is still in beta i think the best way to get started is learning the startup procedure and gradually learning where everything is in the cockpit and just flying. I think the finer points of navigation weapons deployment etc... can be learned as you go by referencing the manual, this board, and what you tube vids are currently out there. Again.. welcome.

the shore mission 6-how am I supposed to land this thing??
DocSigma replied to Zag's topic in Mission and Campaigns
You could always have diverted to an airbase with an ILS. Using the CDU under the divert page, it will reveal nearby landing strips with ILS and TACAN frequencies if applicable. -

I just recently received mine from provantage.com... It took a little over a month for them to ship to me from the distributor, which i'm assuming was Thrustmaster, and they were the V.2. I'm not sure if it took a month because they were out of stock or it was a distributor side delay, but they may have gotten a bunch in and may have some for immediate shipment.

IIRC the warheads on AA missiles detonate on proximity to their target so the go off at a distance to the aircraft and do focused concussive and frag damage. I've always wondered if while in the cockpit fore of the loud engines, you would actually be able to hear the incoming missile detonate behind you.

Can Helios be used with a non-touchscreen? I'd like to eventually use Helios to fill in the empty space on a secondary monitor but it's non touch screen and was wondering if the buttons or instruments are clickable by mouse or just touch on a touchscreen? Thanks.

I got my hands on an additional 22' LCD. I'd really like to make use of this monitor, however it is lacking a base allowing it to sit on a desktop. I've been trying to think of something that I could use as a base for this monitor. I tried looking at the manufacturers site for a replacement base, and i've looked on online for one but have not been able to find anything. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what I can use to substitute for the base so it might sit on my desk? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

That panel is awesome! Firstly, are the switches on that panel functional?

It's probably the toughest thing to pull off on a regular basis and even tougher without a precision stick. I use a Warthog and still with the precision of all it's axis it's still really difficult. The only advice I can give you ( and take this with a grain of salt from someone who is not nearly as good at it as some others on the boards) do whatever it takes to eliminate any lack of precision in your flight stick, don't guide on the refueling boom but rather on the tanker, and most importantly..... practice, practice, practice until your sick of mid air refueling.

I support this message.

Is it worth it currently to upgrade from a 5850? 0?
DocSigma replied to DocSigma's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thats a bummer. Have you ever tried just running the one monitor and the two MFDs on a second? Since 5850's have come down in price since the release of thte HD6x series I may just try and pick up a second one and run in cxfire for the added 1gig of vid memory. -
I've installed the 11.1a drivers, and in CCC under product summary/information these drivers are registering as 10.12 drivers. I'm sure I installed the correct driver, and just want to make sure I'm not the only one seeing this. Thanks

DocSigma replied to DocSigma's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It looks like your system is similar to mine. How is your performance running 3x monitors at that resolution? If you don't mind me asking. -
For the most part I've been pretty happy with the performance I've gotten over the past year with my current build along with the current vid card that's in there now. Is it worth it to upgrade from my current 5850 at the moment? Im only running a single monitor, but will be adding a second to export just the MFD's to one monitor. I've been getting good performance with A10C at 1920x1200 with no complaints in terms of FPS. Thanks for any input.

Yeah.. it does look that way, but you never know.

Here is a small, or rather, attempt at a mission. Don't really have the editor fully down, but I figured instead of ground based targets, I added ships. At the very least its decent for getting it done in one pass and there is a mid air refueling option if you want and possibly an AA engagement or two depending on how the AI fares. Note: the tanker only will be available if you complete your objective. Scramble v2.miz

Awesome.. just awesome. Great job!

I don't think there is HUD drift override on the A10C IRL, but I know there are people here who actually work on the A10C IRL who can answer this question for certain.

What I do is place the incoming missile on the beam and descend while dumping CMS to increase airspeed(increasing energy) and turn into the missle when to increase it's TOF (time of flight) when it's very close. With this I usually defeat an incoming SA or AR SAM. If my airspeed isn't where it should(no energy) it's tough and I'm usually getting a nice view from while i slowly descend via parachute. IR missles are tough to defeat in the A10. I usually just try to maximize energy and increase the missles TOF while expending Flares.
