really liked this one Greb. Love the night missions. I liked the multiple target coordinates.. Took me longer than it normally takes to get to taxing, but I just went the Programing an additional Flight Plan on the CDU route. Got airborne, hit the "Setup" STPT, switched over to Flight Plan 2... 4x Target SPI.. Nice.. liked it a lot. I also liked the the bullseye calls of the ground armor because you had that predator up there..Apart from giving a heads up as to the ground units location, it also gave it some more atmosphere. Really good Greb.. keep'em coming... really appreciate the time and effort.

This one sounds interesting. Can't wait to fly this one.

Greb I just flew the Runway mission. Again, hats off. Nice mission. I didnt take along IAMs and changed out the MK82air for just Mk82s x7. I love CCIP bomb runs and this mission was nice for that. Lined up on the runway heading, RIP Single/7xRipples/300 ft spacing. Had my wingman soften up the AAA for me just prior to my run in, still took some scratches. I didn't think the runway would be decommissioned, but 2 bombs fell a bit short and managed 5 bombs down the center line in my single pass. The only enemy aircraft that managed to get airborne had just taken off and they were 2x SU25's which my wingman and myself took care off. I included some screens, plus there was an allied 25 that got it's nose blown off and was still flying and managed to make it back to home plate and land safely. Anyway.. really enjoyed it and appreciate it..keep'em coming.

Just flew this MT. Really nice mission. Very busy. A lot of directing the 2 and 3 guys around. Lots of threats. Evaded a couple of SA6 launches and thought I evaded an SA10 but apparently too close to the blast radius and it took out a couple of systems including my Chaff dispenser. Had already input the coords.. picked up as soon as i slew TGP to SPI i believe the tasking was a comms tower. Put a GBU38 directly at the base between its support legs.. smoke but still standing.. lots of AAA...Second 38 was a hung store so I Pickled off a GBU12 and that thing landed way left.. So I was assuming the tower should have been toppled not still standing. .so I figured I'd use the GAU-8 (Just CM rounds) but after I pulsed off a 2 to 3 bursts all that AAA downed me. Is that tower supposed to come down or was the smoking tower sufficient to mark it as a kill. In the debriefing the GBU registered a kill on a building but the impact crater of it was at the center of the tower. Anyway.. nice mission. Really liked the unpredictability of it( I could have looked in the ME for the possible threat locations, but decided not to ) I can really see how this one would appeal to be flown as a multi. Also, it ran perfectly.. without a hitch.

In any mission i've flown i've never had a FAC mark with smoke, just WP, IR, Laser spot.
-
I have a mission where the FAC gives me a Type1: Soldiers are danger close to opposing soldiers. Cleared hot immediately, no data link, no mark. Have to use coords given by FAC to locate based on distance from friendlies. Its a mission i've been working on while learning the ME but the FAC call is an ancillary to the primary goal of the mission.

I don't see how this is possible with LGBs. Don't LGB's essentially guide on the high intensity focused Laser point. If you spot one target with one laser release then spot another target release another bomb on a different target then you would lose guidance on the first bomb or maybe the first bomb will begin guiding on the second laser spot. I guess you would need independent lasers on the aircraft or multiple FAC's on the ground laser spotting for you, but i don't know if this is possible in DCS or IRL.
-
Are you thinking about JDAM munitions? DCS does employ GBU38/31 IAMs. You could designate multiple targets using the TGP and release multiple JDAMs in succession which will guide on those different designated targets.

I ordered a set of MFD's from provantage about a month ago and still they are on backorder. :( I want to go the small Lcd route as well.

I'm in N.America and I got mine through Amazon. And yes.. update the firmware, and it this is one plunge i'm sure you will be glad you made. -
Full clickable A10 cockpit on Ipad

I was debating on whether or not to get this app for the iphone to use it to input CDU lines. -
Haven't looked at the trk, but did you arm the laser?

Please help me with CCIR/CCRP unguided bombs!
DocSigma replied to Conure's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Actually, I'd think these are the munitions most commonly employed for a CAS aircraft like the A10. These and a couple of Mavs would probably be the standard loadout ( and less expensive). I personally love using these munitions, and try to only use guided bombs for static pre planned targets. If I was planning missions, and i had the ability to use supersonic a/g platforms I'd go with those for precision deep interdiction strikes and leave messy stuff to the Hog. -
Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
DocSigma replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Since it appears that ED collaborates with military on some scale to generate these sims, I would guess you could eliminate from the list of possible aircraft or helos to be developed next a slew of vehicles that aren't a significant part of any countries military and not likely to have any practical use. Therefore, I would put money on the Hornet. 1: not being phased out anytime soon, fairly ubiquitous around the world, Dual role aircraft, Carrier and Land based ops. -
I can liv without it. I always think of myself as flying the jet not a ghost. However, legs there to put clipboards with mission parameter notes and the like would be nice, but not at the expense of button occlusion. If anything just add a clipboard button switch to the F10 view window.

Just one more JTAC for you Night Owls!
DocSigma replied to Greb's topic in User Created Missions General
Hats off Greb. I loved this mission. I pretty much flew it with all my primary and secondry instruments dimmed as well as my HUD intensity dimmed. I really enjoyed it. I even had a rear main O2 tank fail and I started to black out... had to switch the O2 from normal to emergency and all was good ( mission is long and no way was I going to black out and dart into the ocean). Took out the targets.. I heard a lot of banging as I released my bombs and initially thought it was the charge ejecting the GBU off the rail ( I played with it and was curious if I could hear a sound.. i dont even know if bomb ejection is implemented yet), but when I flicked on my NVG's and looked out the canopy my wings were shot up pretty badly, unless that was flak from my own bomb ( i was pretty low when i released it)..got back to home plate, landed. Great mission. Long but goo. loved it. -
keep RPM's the same while you trim to get it level at that thrust. If you change the thrust you of course have to correct by trimming for added or decreased airflow over the wings while in level flight. And use auto pilot as mentioned above once you've got the aircraft trimmed.

I haven't tried this yet, but I don't see why you can't go into the FP and edit the FP that has your mark points since they are sequential. I'd understand by marking and turning the cdu mode to mark but if you create a flight plan with A,B,C. etc... and load that up then yo should be able to edit that FP.
-
If your markpoints or targets are sort of clustered in a small area, definitely go with just turning the dial from FP to Markpoint, but if you have targets fairy spread out and and you fence in from a reasonable distance.. say 15 to 20NM I would go with marking the targets then creating a new FP with markpoints A, B, etc.. as STP's and loading up a new flight plan. If you have to go defensive and lose SA having a FP there for you targets would be ideal.

It works perfectly. I do this to run my Elite rudder pedals which are gameport. Target recognizes the Cougar +Throttle+Pedals as a single device along with the Warthog joystick, Throttle, MFD's etc. as individual devices. It's prefect since i still love my cougar and use it for other sims on occasion. You don't have to configure anything it' already detected and recognized.

FC2 TARGET Profile for TM Warthog
DocSigma replied to CHSubZero's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I've been working on one and using Vipers latest FC2 profile he did for the Cougar, but figuring out what to do with some of the mappings on the throttle ( Ant and range rotaries aren't there on the throttle ) is holding me up, but i have the stick mapped already since it is pretty much the same as the F16 stick. -
You have to run it as an administrator. I get this all the time when i forget and just open it. Right click the shortcut > Run as administrator I know this is a must under Win. 7 and Vista.
