One advice for all that would like more instantenious movement - grap yourself few friends and buy yourself a paintball session. You would soon realize that the picture portraited by arcade fps is plain wrong. You have to plan your movemenet, you cannot magicali stop a run back the same speed. And this is without body armor, backpack.....

Wrong. You can hide emulated drives by runing virtualization software. This I think is the main reason virtualization SW is not allowed. there is a big difference in 'runs without problem' and officialy supports. Requirements for OS yes, but not for hardware, as virtualized hardware is not supported.

Or, they could incorporate TrackIR module, and also make their own, which supports freetrack, like BI studio did with Arma2.

VERGEEV Group campaign RELEASED!
winz replied to FGSchtuzer's topic in User Created Missions General
no need to apologize ;) I'm just trying to clear the mist about 1.0.2, as people rejecting it can miss few good stuffs, especialy the new sound engine. -
it's far from perfect, but it's a hell better than in Ofp and arma. It gets complicated in close quarters as the collision detection is far from perfect and the animations too stiff. But the momentum has to be there, as planing your movement should be integral part of your field operation. The last thing I wanna see is soldiers changing direction or, god forbid, bunny hoping around, because they have no mass. You cannot change direction in split second irl, despite what fps shooters try to teach us. No it's not. I never was in an army, but got some hiking experience, and with good load your movement is anything but instantaneous, it's in fact pretty damn slow :) And after few hours march it gets even worse. 1)Something such complicated is not achievable in lockon - you cannot load and unload infantry from trasport helicopter. You cannot even stop a unit, once it's activated, it's activated for good. 2)You don't have to touch scritps, you just have to use simple commands like fly in height, moveincargo. And afaik, you don't have to script your way out, just use 'unload transport' waypoint. The H is there to tell the a.i. 'look this is a safe spot to land', as terrain analyze is prety cpu heavy and with varying results (the heli will try to land even without the H, but this can end in a disaster). This is pretty efficient way to be able to force the heli to land anywhere on map, something you cannot do in lockon.

Because in an arcadish shooter your camera is floating in the world (you are just a point in the world, nothing more). The weapons and hands you see in mw are not in any way conected to the world, they are there just for the effect. Other players see a model where your camera is floating, but what that model does is in no way restricting you. Im ofp, arma, armaII, you have a real body, that has it weight and momentum, try run around in 20kilos of gear and I guarantee you that your movement will be ever more slugish. It's not. You just place units and assign waypoints, as in lockon. In arma2 you can get complex functionality (like ambient life, combat, patrols, artilery, uav), just by placing a simple modules. Scripting only kicks in when you wanna do complex stuff, like units behaviour based on some conditions (finite state machines), which is way beyond anything you can do in lockon. This would be really nice, but some user created missions offer decent randomization of events.

VERGEEV Group campaign RELEASED!
winz replied to FGSchtuzer's topic in User Created Missions General
Where did you get that info? Just because few people ran into problems (caused mostly by not following instructions, using old shortcuts, uac + admin rights), you came to assumption, that 1.0.2 is faulty? -
Did you tried it without those mods? My wild guess would be those high res clouds mod

VERGEEV Group campaign RELEASED!
winz replied to FGSchtuzer's topic in User Created Missions General
ofc, this only applies if you live in the usa. You take off from parking place and fly to your first waypoint. Then the commander will take off with his Mi-28 of the runway. you follow him during a trip near the border, when you are done he will order you to land at your parking spot and refuel. After few minutes wingmans Mi-28 will take off from runway. Like? I haven't got any problem with buying this campaign. If you look around, the problems with buying were on the users side (forgeting to add international country code to phone number, not checking spam filters...) Most problems here come from people who doesn't know what country phone number code -
Exactly :D The same place, tha same mission :)

This mission aims to teach you one thing - Check your fuel before lift off ;) edit: Sniped :P

winz replied to shea1980's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
applies lead when firing with cannon at a moving target. afaik it doesn't affect vikhrs (as it is a beam rider and your laser is allways pointing at the target) or rockets. -
I have had such big fps drop in similiar situations aswell. For me, the lights effects were the FPS killer. Every time there were several aircrafts casting light on static structures the FPS dropped drastically and it looked like a cpu bottlenech aswell (stable GPU temperature + cpu running at full throttle). Maybe you can give that a try. You cannot tune lights in options menu. You have to edit LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\BlackShark\data\scripts\options.lua change ["lights"] = 2, to ["lights"] = 1, edit: Unfortunetaly, this has big effect on your ability to fly in night, as illumunation bombs/rockets do not work with light set to 1.

I think this F15C tutorial pretty much sums what the pilot sees. it pretty simple for them, find, lock, fire.

How do I verify a Serial Number with Starforce?
winz replied to Rodney's topic in Payment and Activation
It is possible, 1)go here http://proactive.star-force.com/2.0/activate.php 2)Enter the serial number in the first field and click 'Serial Number parameters'. It will show you all details about the serail number, including how many activations you got left + previous activations. -
Well. I tried. I looked in the IEEE library (the only one I got access at the monent), and guess what, nothing. Ok, let me ask one thing. Let for a moment forget about thermodynamics laws. According to the links posted here, these technologies aren't really new, they are here for years, if not decade atleast. There are technologies that are younger and they are quite widespread, even if their spread costs are pretty high (i.e. third generation mobile networks, ftth). And according to the links, it's construction isn't really expensive, you don't need a top-notch factory with sterille enviroment (like for i.e. microelectronics). The patents are registered to their rightfull owners and not to the evil oil companies that people accuse of buying such patents and puting them in the shelfs. And the market is there, I mean, a free eternal power source has certainly a wider market than a 3G mobile network. So, low initial investment, no aditional reaserch required, and a super wide market, if you ask me, from a business standpoint, it's a goldmine. And no sane man would refuse such opportinuty. So tell my, why I cannot buy such devices? I mean really buy, from serious resellers, with warranty, manual and such. Give me one logical explanantion other than 'it doesn't work'

You are the one here making religion out of science... We are all full of #### and you are the only visionary and saviour here. Guess your ego is also powered from ZPE. I want reasearch papers, not some wild articles you googled out of haste or wiki links about people who are afraid of publication of their of phd thesis.

You realize he was talking aboult laws present in our spacetime. Talking about big bang in this matter is irrelevent, because these laws were created by the big bang (as was our spacetime). Those people were not linked with wild companies trying to sell 'revolutionary' 'worldenergysaving' gizmos to 'simple' people. Everytime you see a gizmo like this on a page, it's directly linked to some product somebody is trying to sell. Einstein did not ran around yelling at people 'come sit in this rocket for $49, it will fly faster and thus you will age slower'. He made experiments to prove his theories, he published research papers and let them be tested and criticized by other scientist. If I want valid, believable, scientific research in the field of gasoline fuels, I will not turn to Shell's marketing department, would you? I would like to see published reaserch papers present i.e in IEEE library, and not on some hastly-wordgenerated-webpage. (honestly, how can you believe sombody who's claiming, that he had done the scientific breakthrough of milenia, if he even cannot make his webpage right)

I like how they add trademark after 'Magnetic Power Modules', certainly adds credit to the whole article. And 2004-2005? That's 5years ago... if it is a new, worldbreaking, technology, where is it? Or they only ship it to africa, like cold fusion generators?

Or with a flare dispenser filled with signal flares instead of the CM ones :D
