Are you serious? Chernarus is 225 square km, thats 15x15km. Are you realy trying to suggest that it is ok to almost fire vikhr from one end of the map to another? Even if Arma 2 is the best infantry sim, it has lots to be desired in the terms of long range engagements. You can see further in DCS than is the size of the Arma 2 map, that's why the scenery has to be so sparse and low-poly. Also, what has scenery and map size to do with gameplay?

The aim of a simulator is to simulate, not to make fair, balanced gameplay. If you are aiming for a balanced gameplay, then you have to make sacrifices on the simulation part, because real war isn't balanced. A10 vs ground troops will never be fair, the same way Su27 vs A10 will never be fair. How can you make ground troops fair againts something that is designed to kill them?

Not really. Because living world is only one of many things military doesn't care about. The next thing would be graphical effects. AI would be propably the next one. There are lots of things a military sim doesn't need, but DCS has. As for the gameplay element. The tools for immersive gameplay are there, the deployment campaign showed that it can be done, even if some mission had it's problems. Also the campaigns in FC 2.0 weren't that bad (I personaly enjoyed all :) ).

I got my X52 only recently too, so there might be easier solution But, in the profiling software: 1)Find the rotary you would like to set-up (i.e. Rotary 1) 2)Click on the Arrow next to it's name, and select 'Directional axes' 3)You can now define keystrokes when rotating the control in either direction. And you can use the 'sensitivity' bar to define how many keystrokes should be pressed when rotating the control from one end to another.

Take Falcon 4.0 i.e., it is a decade old game. Now, compare it to DCS: Bs, or DCS: A10C... Do you still belive that it will take only a less than a decade to elevate sims to the level you describe? ;)

If you're just looking for something more action-pack, then look. But don't try to transform BS to that what you're looking for. Some of us are really enjoying it, and don't find it boring at all.

I disagree. The last thing I want to do when I'm sick is to do some research whether or not the product stated as cure for my disease actually works. I have no degree in medicine and most of my biology knowledge comes from high school, there for I'm in no way competent to judge if something might or might not work. That's someone else jobs before the product hits the market. And when the product hits the market stated as cure, then it must have some laboratory testing done that'll prove it's actually a cure. Standard drug has to have extenstive laboraty testing before it is allowed on market. Why should herbs be any different? If you cannot prove its an actual cure, then sell it as nutrition complement. What monopolization? You'll still be able to sell your hocus pocus herbs as cure, but you need to proove that they are a cure. Let's drop any kind of customer protection then. Why have extensive aviation rules for companies? People should be able to decide themself which companie is dangerous and which are not. If general public is competent enough to judge something as complex as the effects of medicaments, then they should be able to handle aviation safety quite easily.

Yeah, that's why life expectancy was 1/3 of what it is today. Because those herbs cured most common diseases, like secondary bacteria infections during flu. Herbs and natural stuff are great for prevention, for immunity and healthy life style support. But are worthless againts diseases that were killing us for centuries.

You sure? I've a three years old computer, yet I'm able to run it at high settings. That's why SC2 starting to become the biggest RTS e-sport, because it doesn't involve tactics and is only about building more units faster... Starcraft II is the best and most polished clasicall RTS to date. Comparing it to something it never ment to be is pointless. The only AI that cheats in SC2 skirmish is very hard and insane, while only insane cheats in resource gathering. The rest of them don't. The very easy AI takes for ever to build up. If they beats you, then you got outplayed. It's similiar to when you get shot down in flamming cliffs. It's hardly the AIs fault.

No. The difference between XP and 9x line is that 9x line is a 16/32bit hybrid OS that work as an extention of the underlaying dos core. Dos core was written in basic. That's the reason while you can boot back to dos in 9x line and not in NT line. XP uses NT 5.1 Kernel. NT is written solely in C/C++, is a pure 32bit OS, and is not based on dos. It is a totaly different OS architecture. You can take XP as a next step in 9x line only if you take it from the aimed market perspective (home users). Source wise is XP core is based on the NT line. XP and 2000 are much much much closer than XP and 98. XP was also the sucessor of 2000 in the market of workstations.

I loved first mafia game, it has a great slowly unfolding story with many twists and great atmosphere. With beautiful graphics. It had free ride and an extremely challenging and funny free ride extreme. Now mafia II has like 9hours of gameplay. Story that starts up nice but is hastelly finnished, the scriptwriter (for both mafia I and II) left in the middle of the development, because developer reduced his script by a lot. Freeride unlockable only by 3rd party mode and virtualy no replayability, with already 2 DLC on its way. If you ask me, it's a huge letdown for the fans.
