  1. RIP...this is quite a sad year for aviation indeed, too many have lost their lives this year..Hopes and prayers are with them.
  2. they probably picked it up put the gear back down and flew it the next day knowing Russian gear.
  3. Roads by Portishead.
  4. well, one of the pilots that was killed was the founder of the group(Lech Marchelewski,4200hrs) and this was his farewell flight, the other was a younger pilot, and as you can see it didnt turn out so well. The crowd was silent, then cries could be heard along with prayers following. The only person still speaking was the commentator, who cried out "mother of god, what has happened, jesus christ,i cant live through this" ,this was one of the harder maneuvers with all four planes crossing from 4 corners simultaneously, parts of one of the planes fell into the forest, while the other plane fell onto the field.Theres probably going to me more info at a later time, but thats the jist of it.
  5. same reason the Russians dont do it to us,common courtesy :D From what i can see the first pic looks to be some su-24s,the other i can only make a guess and say they were some sort of trainers, maybe some L-39/59 ..but my guess is as good as yours.
  6. The gun is replaced with the smoke system on the Blues bug.In terms of the aggressor bug i couldnt tell you.
  7. your not gonna see the blues flying superbugs for quite some time,if ever, they are getting some C model bugs though IIRC.
  8. That was made by Kato, along with all the other bugs, this is a new mod that we are testing. It will be released to the pubic when it is done, when that will be i dont know.
  9. yeah i got a cougar, and aside from the nice durability of the metal, the stick is a piece of crap if left un-modded,i just found out that i have to redo the antenna pot cause its broken out of the box.IMHO the money that you pay for this thing it should be working out of the box without you having the open it up and make changes, thats just ridiculous,i mean its a good stick for a starting point if you get it cheap, and get one of the mods (that runs around 400$ to 600$) depending on what you want to get,but honestly you shouldn't have to go through all this trouble to get something that should work "out of the box",i got one so i could mod it later on, i prefer my Microsoft Precision 2 over the cougar until i mod it.
  10. no,it had a very pronounced serial number, also it didnt have the snowbirds written on it.I didnt end up driving out there today, had to help friend move,by then i was already tired from being out in the sun,and i dont think that i could have handled being in the sun since i already pretty burned.
  11. no,i dont recall seeing that bi-plane,lthough i did get there an hour after the show started, and saw a bi-plane,but it wasnt the one you talk of.I did see the DA40,but just passing it by,i did check out some new twin engined aircraft i havent seen before, looked like a 4 seater-twin engined Katana of sorts, don't remember the manufacturer though, one surprise,i can say,was a cf-41 (ct-114) "tutor" i think the serial was 336-337 or something like that, dont really remember, but i can tell you that it had the snowbirds paint scheme(minus the actual snowbirds name, logo) but everything else was the same, maybe a former snowbird?,who knows i may have been seeing things as i was out in the sun for a while(got sunburned),overall there were some cool things to see, like the DH-112 "venom" flying with a t-33a,can tell you that the venom was way cooler then the t-33, although they are quite some years apart of course, but the venom did some really nice high speed passes.B-25 was nice to see along with a pony that did a heritage flight with the 15,they did say there was gonna be a viper demo from CO ANG,but they didnt do it today, tomorrow, they said,so i might have to check that out as well..would have taken pictures, but i dont have a camera..
  12. Well,i thought this was appropriate without posting a new topic, anyway,i just came back from the front range airshow out by DIA,was nice, had some nice planes there, west coast demoe team was there with a 15,CO ANG had one of their vipers there along with a couple ofther older jets, http://www.rmrfi.org/airshow.htm im probably gonna end up going again tomorrow if any of you in the area wanna go,the airport is 6 miles SE of DIA..let me know if you guys r interested in going..
  13. i would too,but instead i would give it a couple of smaller push props,make it faster:D
  14. Yeah that would be pretty cool to do,i would defiantly be interested, although i have looked around a bit,but cant seem to find too much on qualifications, and job openings.
  15. well if the US gets rid of human pilots in the upcoming future, then that will mean that all of us" virtual pilots" should be the first option,in terms of piloting these aircraft,it'll be just like a flight sim :D ..
  16. Call me old fashioned, but i would prefer to have a HUD in that thing. That brings me to another personal opinion. The new jets are so clean now(external stores) that IMHO start to look kinda dull,we wont see stores on future jets anymore it seems,i like seeing all the hardware that they can carry, like the Hog,Mudhen, and now especially the block 50-52+,i like the way the 52+ D model looks with the dorsal spine and CFT's, add the weapons stores to that thing ,and the enm runs away screaming in terror of the fact that the military has an excess of bombs that they're trying to get rid off before the expiration date.Thats what i like about fighters these days,of course times do change and we will see the " clean is deadly" look, and more efficient i suppose. But i just start to loose interest in them.
  17. Are your talking about the Spanish CASA transports? we have a few in the Polish air force http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CASA_C-295 ..Well i guess you guys could live without newer fighters since your surrounded by allies, but it would be nice to get new ones..
  18. nice pics, did a little reading on Slovak air force last week, was trying to figure out what they will buy to replace their aging fleet: "Procurement of 18 multi-role fighter aircraft by 2007 - candidates are used F-16A/Bs from Belgium or new F-16s or Gripens. Procurement of 6-10 new trainer/light attack aircraft - candidates include Hawk, L-159, MB339 and M346. Seek an upgrade for 10 Mi-24s after the Visegrad nations joint programme collapsed." That fire must have sucked to put out, looks like it went into AB and burned out perhaps, that JP is pouring out the back.
  19. there going to be any demonstrations? perhaps like a mini airshow or is it just flights in the 17.. would like to stop by and check it out if possible:D
  20. Hey Iguana wanna go to DIA and check out some of those D4 under ground facilities?! :D ..I mean i've always been a believer of things like this and have never put it past the govt to be involved, would be nice to know the truth of course, but like i said i wouldn't put it past them.
  21. well i read about this a while back, there were discussions,at the time, about how it worked and if i remember correctly the engine has to be at a certain speed before it works, meaning the air has to move at the correct speed through the engine for it to(combust?) i know that they use lasers' pinpoint accuracy to ignite the air(in a sense). Cant rememeber much more info, take a look around online its very cool stuff.
  22. Now all you guys have to create after, is the split-throttle to go along with it.
  23. i was just wondering if we could get a comparison in size to the cougar grip..i have fairly smallish(not a midget) hands so i was just wondering about that..
  24. it says that this will be the 23 & 24 of june not this weekend.
