Most ppl who dont like it dont have it set up correctly - either the zoom is too fast along with the Y axis, or everything is too fast. I have my speeds set down to .8, with 100% softening with almost nil to no movement from the zoom and Y axis whatsoever. These are the two axises that cause headaches and motion sickness (for me, anyways...).

Z87 motherboards: from 80 bucks to 350?
hitman replied to JayPee's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I delidded my 4770k and used ICdiamond as TIM. Im on air cooling using a Noctua HSF, 4.6ghz on air. I dont see temps above 70c under heavy loads...unless Im using prime95. After that it gets maxed. I keep it at 4.45 just to keep temps down. -
Cant complete Mission 15 in the campaign - help please?
hitman replied to hitman's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Ive managed to complete almost all of the campaign under 1.2.7, and this is the only thing Ive managed to see stop the campaign cold...and thats kind of the problem because Im not sure if this is what my problem is. I circle for a while, everyone else returns to base, and when I do I dont get a mission complete. I know Im missing something...and if its just those 2 infantrymen, then that would be my guess. -
I seem to have a bit of a problem with this mission. A couple of insurgents near the river are either immortal, or are positioned in such a manner next to the river to make them impervious to everything, and they cant be killed. After I destroy the convoy thats escaping to the west on the road, Im not sure what else to do, and I cant find any enemy combatants that arent immortal and standing next to the river. Those two units kill everything until they run out of ammo, and its pretty frustrating. Any ideas? Hints?

Trim the helicopter for 75 kts, which is the best glide speed for the Huey. Add collective as necessary to keep the engine from overspeeding, start your deceleration at 100 feet, and start pulling hard on the collective at 15 feet. Lots of practice there...

Has anyone used Shadowplay successfully?
hitman replied to hitman's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yes. I got it to work, finally. It was my screen resolution, apparently doesnt like a triple monitor setup. -

Thats the thing - I have tried everything to get it to turn on. When I hit it, all I get is the green light/red slash indicator stating its not recording for a second. I wonder if its because of my monitor resolution... -

So how did you manage to get it to work? All I ever see is a green light marked out with a red line, so it isnt recording for me. -

Im looking for something that is a bit easier to use than fraps, and Nvidia shadowplay looked like the best thing for me, since it saves video automatically to h.264 (or whatever). Never seen it working though. Ill check out Xsplit, but Id like to know if shadowplay actually works. -
Ive been trying to get this recorder to work ever since it was released, and its perplexing me.

If it has A) successfully employed A2A weapons, B) employed A2G weapons, and both are smart weapons, then its a good chance the F-35 has combat avionics installed, whether or not the units all have HUDs. Everything you see in the HUD can also be displayed on any of the MFDs.

Wasnt trying to be rude, merely underexaggerating your statement thats all.

You mean 4 miniguns, 38 rockets, and over 10,000 rounds of ammo isnt enough??

There is a toggle switch for the 40mm grenade launcher in the cockpit. Not saying its modeled, just saying its there.
-
Yeah I was wondering that, Ive googled pics of the cockpit before asking. Ive seen a few of them installed correctly with the 12 oclock at 12 oclock position, and most of them installed the way its modelled currently.
-
Copilot side oil pressure gauge is cocked 90 degrees CCW, with the 12 oclock position resting at 9 oclock. Was the gauge incorrectly installed by a new avionics employee?
-
Well it has to vary according to the hardware mounted. If its 90 degrees pointing forward and down, you stand a good chance at shooting the hard points for the flex mounted guns. You aim it around 20 degrees up, you clip the rotor blades. You aim it more than 60 degrees down, you clip the rocket pods. Then again, you will have mechanical limitations due to the hardware attached to the gun itself, like the bolt housing group or the barrels themselves. There is also a mechanical block that allows for stowage in one specific manner (in the case of the UH-1H and the M134, it looks 90 degrees aft, 45 degrees down pointing aft).

There are different me how the guns are mounted to the ship. Different rifles, different mounts. Some guns are mounted inside the cabin, while the minigun is mounted outside of the cabin. They also vary ship to ship.

ED SIMS SCREENSHOT AND VIDEO THREAD!!!! (NO USER MODS OR COMMENT)
hitman replied to rekoal's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Im not sure, but this mission was made in 1.2.6, and the above screenshot was in 1.2.7 in the same mission. The same bug allowed our medevacs and civilian aircraft to retain the door gunners, rocket pod mounts and flex gun hard points on the model. Everything was backwards, so to speak. -
Most joysticks are twitchy, and some are twitchier than others. My Warthog doesnt need a dead zone for any axis, but if I were using my old X52, I would definitely set up a dead zone and curves. To give you an idea what those settings do: a dead zone is the amount of play your stick has vs the amount of play you want to use when in game before it registers as movement from the stick. If you naturally have a little bit of play, you will want to use a dead zone that is equal to the amount of play you feel you need, so it wouldnt feel so twitchy. Curves tell you how fast the input is at a given curve - ie a flat curve means you will have a minimal registered input throughout the entire axis, vs a well rounded curve may register the most movement at 90 degrees, and the least amount of movement at 0 and 180 degrees. If I didnt make that clear, then perhaps someone can explain it better.
