  1. Post a track, Ill take a look at what your doing wrong.
  2. Think you have the key commands messed up. The R/Ctrl Home throttles up that specific engine, the R/Alt Home key turns the other one on. Do what I did, it works, and I learned how to ramp start the A-10 in a few minutes. Watch the tutorial, but keep a pen and paper handy, and write down which buttons/switches to push IN ORDER, and draw a simple schematic of where the switch is located in the cockpit. You should have one anyways, since references are always needed. You dont have to draw the switch, just a simple diagram with which step that switch should be pulled, and how many clicks.
  3. Do you have shadows active planer or full? Civilian traffic turned off? Water texture to medium? The biggest issue with this sim are these 3 things. How many polys does a building have? 6? The trees are just sprites and only 2 dimensional, and Ive noticed in DCS series the light blob takes a huge chunk of resources as well. Its the eye candy, not the rest of the stuff. Another performance killer in these sims is that they are designed for single core use. A-10C uses multi-cores, but its not exactly on-par.
  4. Theres a lot more to resources than what the task manager shows you. Your video card for starters barely meets minimum requirements. Your hard drive is slower than usual desktop hard drives (5200rpm vs 7200rpm). Your laptop is bound to run hotter than a desktop, and that right there is the biggest performance killer for laptop gaming. Not only that, but your cpu cycles are lower than a regular desktop simply because they arent designed to use up even HALF of those desktops were made for. For example: An INtel laptop quad core wont even touch the speed and performance of a Q6600 Intel quad core because the power consumption is around 54w for the laptop, while the desktop will use 90+w. Not only that, but BF3 and MW3 type games have small maps, and dont have to draw every single building, tree, clouds, water, etc etc... within a 100km radius. You just cant look at your system resources and say hey, Im only using 80% of the computer, somethings not right. I had a laptop for a grand total of 1 week prior to getting this desktop, and it was an Intel i7 with 4gbs of ddr3 1600 ram and an AMD 67xx video card and this SSD I have on this computer. It ran slower than fossilized dino turd. Not even Alienware laptops are worth getting for these sims.
  5. You do that. Thanks!
  6. /me is tired of flying my high res A-10C in jalopy terrain. /me calls it Hooptyville.
  7. You seem to give a shit quite a bit. Get off your high horse.
  8. I loved reading the comments! :D
  9. Anneal and reheat treat it.
  10. If the 690 is the fastest GPU in the world, then why bother looking at ATi?
  11. Context or not, thats what a rocket IS.
  12. Yup...today Im Buzz Killington.
  13. No, a projectile relies on external power to launch it.
  14. I wonder if they will reclaim and restore that aircraft. There isnt much rust on it as far as I can see!
  15. Actually, rocket is just a type of engine. About as simplified as one can get...you fill up a bottle with half water and pressurize the bottle with compressed air, you got a water rocket. A chemical reactor engine. Yada yada yada.
  16. I solve that problem by staying single.
  17. Are we talking about the throttle tension slider switch on the thumb side of the throttle? I didnt know that thing served a purpose...
  18. Technically speaking, if its exhaust nozzle is only divergent, and is solid/liquid propellant which creates its own oxygen for combustion, instead of dino gas, it is a rocket motor, hence a rocket. A missile is an object in flight. A rock is a rocket is a bullet is a penny flicked is a missile. Semantics.
  19. My 570 works flawlessly with A-10C, dont know why anyone would want overkill like that...
  20. I never seen one of these things before! Kinda scared the shit out of me when I first saw it, but I got it chilling in my model room right now. Thing is almost 7 inches long!
  21. Give you an idea how big this thing is...
  22. Ive never seen one of these before, and this thing was just mad kinds of massive!
  23. Guess that makes 2 of us back in the saddle again?! Sup Konny!
