Simmer down boys - lol I' tried the 1.01 DxRenderer.dll last night but it crashes :( So I'm sticking to the settings in the 1st post unless someone can get better settings I still suffer low FPS over a city thpough (13 to 15 FPS when down very low) And this is on........ AMD64bit 754pin 3700; ATI X800XT 256Mb; 1GB 3200 DDR Ram; Philips 5.1 sound card Running all max except water on High and visability as per the 1st post (a tweaked medium) 1280x1024 AAx4 AFx8 Changing any of the settings / AA / AF settings has little or no impact on FPS (only if water is set to very high) I can also see my CPU is at 100% when playing so guess even at a 64bit 3700 its still the limiting factor - It does lead me to question if the 3D engine is one of the more efficient ones!!! However it does look nice :) (Much better than Falcon 4 ---- dig dig :) )

How did u tweak the config??? Do u still get pop-up of buildings??? What FPS do u get???? -
Hi Thought I would share my hours of testing with you guys to see if it help some of you...... Below are my settings to avoid pop-up but keep good fps and get good quality put them in yout graphics.cfg (Replace the old ones) Medium { near_clip = 0.2; middle_clip = 4; far_clip = 80000; structures = {60, 6500}; trees = {75000, 7000}; dynamic = {300, 20000}; objects = {4000, 50000}; mirage = {2000, 20000}; surface = {20000, 80000}; lights = {200, 60000}; lod = 1.; } LandDay { L01 = 15000; L12 = 35000; } FogParam1 = 16; FogParam2 = 1.1; ObjectFogMultiplier = 0.8; Anyone else got any better ones????

No canopy reflections except in the SU25

I stand corrected - they are very faint on the other aircraft. Thanks guys -
Only canopy reflections in the Su25T - all other aircraft have no reflections :(

I agree - this is a great tweak - looks much more like the real thing -Good work ED should 100% include this in the patch

Han anyone got a good graphics setting to stop the horrid pop-up without setting structurs to a high number??? I am struggling with FPS over city in the su25t (down to about 15) All setting in game max except visibility ring set at medium / water high - changing ingame settings does not effect fPS - only the visability ring hence looking for good graphics.cfg tweaks AMD 64 3200 / X800XT

agree they should post something - but lets face it we will all buy it if its released tomorrow or today or next week. But agree they should look after their customers a little better - a small message will go a long way.

They must have a CC option. Ruggbit - thats terrible if true - will not be using paypal if that is the case as I have had my credit card details stolen and used on the web once (some years back) and its a real pain in the ass

because the X800XT is faster and I don't have a mobo which is SLI the real reason is that I returned it thinking it was faulty (after 3 months). they have sent it back to be fixed and said it would be 3 to 4 weeks. So I got a X800XT to fill the gap as the shop said they will buy the 6800 back from me on its return. It turns out that it was my mobo - not the graphics card but it will still be a few weeks until its return. So I have some options open to me..... 1. collect my 6800GT and sell the X800XT 2. Let the shop buy the 6800GT off me when its returned 3. Sell the 6800GT (and a few other combinations) I have not been disapointed with the 6800GT at all. Its a good card but the x800XT is faster and gives me more FPS with more AA / AF turned on than the 6800. Hewnce I'm selling the 6800GT in about 2 weeks when it arrives back

Ive got a 6800GT for sale if someone will make a reasonable offer - if not it will go on e-bay soon I've now got an X800XT

did a bit more testing on the 1.02 version at the weekend and the pop ups is down to one variable in then graphichs.cfg structures = {40, 6500}; The first number (40) is the number of buildings that are rendered in all directions of your plane. The structures also have a priority so that high priority get rendered even if further away than the low ones. The low priority structures are well within the visibility range when their priority gets to a level to render - hence the pop-up. The second in the distance structures get rendered. Increasing the 40 (in this example) to 145 removes th popup with a FPS hit. The fade in of objects only seems to apply when they come in on the visabiliyt distance (ie 6500 in our example). So ED should make the fade in on all objects when they triger the priority render - not just at the full visibilty distance -

whilst more detaild skins make for good screen shots it would be great if you could direct your tallent toward the ground textures or the cockpit. this is the stuff that on screen all the time whilst you fly.... Maybe you should do highres missiles - they seem to be close to my plane more oftern than not :lol: -

I have not d/l the demo (tried to and got to over 200mb and then it crashed out - will now wait for the final release!!!) With the 1.02 version you could changed the Dxrenerere.ddl with the 1.01 version and this fixed the problem. However I think this does not work with the demo. There are options in the graphich.cfg in 1.02 which has fadin and out values (1.02) but I never got the effect as good as with 1.01 DxRenderer.dll. ED should fix this issue because, as you say, it kills the immersion factor. :x Evenu bumping up the draw distance does not fix all the popup :evil: We can only hope its fixed in the final release or ED release a patch for it. We know itd its the DxRenderer.dll file..... so please fix it ED.... PLEASE!!!! :) -

I for one prefer the fade-in -- it only faded in over a second or 2 but made all the difference U could replace the Dxrenderer.ddl with the 1.01 to fix this problem in 1.02 --- but 1.1 will crash if u do this I am told (Not d/l the demo - waiting for the full product). There are some fog perameters in the cfg but I never got rid of the pop up. I really wish ED would go to the fade-in aproach. Its sooooooo much better. as for Starforce I have it from the GTR game and have had no problems so far (been installed for about 2 months) -
Quick question With the 6 DoF does the zoom now work on this??? also has the pop-up of buildings gone (the one that was fixed with replacing the 1.02 with the 1.01 DxRenderer) ????

Could one of the Beta's confirm its been addressed please :) as this is oneof the main things which detract from a real flowing look to the flight (its one of the things that ruins IL2-FB-PF also) Lockon had this great in 1.0 and 1.01 but not 1.02 :( Really hope its fixed
