I think you first need to find out what software/hardware/interface you already have with the sim. You need to know just what the owner wants done with the pit, and sometimes even he will not be aware of either the limits or just what can be done. Taking a low fidelity pit to medimun or high is both time consuming and expensive. Going to Lomac from FSX will be a complete change in dynamics and cause less then wanted/better results. In a commerical setting, you must always remember that when the sim is down it is losing money and that is never a good thing in business. Also, look at viperpits.org as this is where the best knowledge on F-16 pits is at. Good luck, you have a great time with hobby and work.

With DCS coming out with a WW2 fighter, I would use the gunsight as a gunsight. A HUD is much more than a gunsight and a gunsight is about 20 years earlier than a lazer.

Zenga, what you want is not eazy to get. The seat moves up and down several inches. You might be able to find how low can the seat fit in the tub, or how high it fits, but will still not be what you would use if you sat in the seat. Does that make sense to you.

A good start would be to get Mikes books. http://www.mikesflightdeck.com/mfdb/mfdb.html

You might also check www.viperpits.org for information. While they are all about building an F16 pit, they have about 10 years information on pit building on their forum.

Good Luck to all. When are you going to have the video up from this years VFAT?

I thinking more of once glued and "water tight" and filling with beer and a long straw!

I would lay odds that you get good fuel flow even upside down, but oil flow is probably near "0".

There is no center eject handle in the A10. Either left or right handle will start the ejection sequence. Here is a link to see all the flavors of ACES II seats: http://www.ejectionsite.com/frame_sg.htm

Take metal to car muffler shop and have them bend it. Should be quick and easy. They probably have 25mm piece of tubing also.

Gene, Thanks, I know of a couple of places near me that have cnc capability. I have been thinking of a few changes that would work better for me. I have an original ab pit that I used for the last few years. While easy to use and setup, it is hard for me to get out of and starts to get uncomfortable after a few hours. I have been thinking of making the seat higher (Yea I know it might make steping in/out harder) and changing seat angle to 13% angle and mip to near 85% angle. The latter would make major change to monitor support table frontend and I also think a better way to secure the mip to it. So still in planning stage. Again thanks Gene. Lumper

Gene, Thanks for your kind help to the pit builders in your area. Time only cncing is a great value for a quick pit build. Wish I was closer, but Texas does it for me.

Tanks for the quick dims Jedi. And Gene as usual thanks for another step in the crazyness of pit building.

I have a friend that was trying to look at it autocad 2009, and he could not open it up either. Since I do not have a cad program, I downloaded draftsight to view the drawing, which works great for me.
-
Received plans and they are very complete. However, since I have zero skills in cad, has anyone figured out the dims for the plans. If so can I get them from you. Have a friend who is helping but he has limited to help me with this. Thanks for any help.

Don't fail to use the internet to find out how to use power tools or do woodworking. Also if you use any power tools use safety glasses, and read about how to use your tools. Also, the ACES II plans you are looking at is not 100 percent correct and is for an F-16 seat, there are some differences for an A-10 or F-15. You can look at www.viperpits,org under ACES II for help. Have fun and enjoy.

Your right, I was wrong. Would still like to assign the UFC to my x-keys, but with only mouse clicks, not sure how to do it.

How does the ladder close inflight? On the ground, the crew chief pushes the ladder up into the ladder storage area which locks it in a closed position, then he closes the door. -
Which gives you nothing but an A-10C hotas command list. No key commands at all.

What everyone needs to know to help is what kind (name/brand) of stick/setup you are using? If just a stick, then you probably have the "Y" axis set for up/down. While "X" is set for roll left/roll right. What you need is a third axis "Z" which is left/right (which in air is left right and on ground taxi left/right.) Some sticks use a twist function for this, and some do not have this capability.

Will this work in multiplayer or would all clients have to have it?
