  1. How does Autolaunch work? I never noticed it at all. Is it implemented? Do you need to be in AG master mode, having the LD-10 selected? Can you give a quick guide to how it works and in what conditions?
  2. Then what exactly is the difference between PAS and SP mode?
  3. Can you explain how PAS works? My understanding was, that it is a simple maddog mode, it flies until it detects a target, then tries to go for it. Is there anything more to it. How does the RWR input affect the missile?
  4. Does that mean that the lack of a loft symbology is intended?
  5. Will there be a pull-up cue for lofting in DTOS? If there will be a cue, will it be possible to use DTOS on the SPI, without designating in a dive? This would allow us to do low-level loft attacks against known targets.
  6. This was done with a hot start from the runway. Out of sheer curiosity: Does the HNS (with activated GPS) eliminate the drift or just reduce the amount of drift per hour?
  7. Here are the .trk file (.pdf because of file size limitations) and the mission that I used. JF_INS_Test.miz jf_ins_drift.trk.pdf
  8. Right now the HNS (INS+GPS) drift is extremely high. For testing, I did a 45-minute flight from Tiblisi to Anapa. During the ~400nm flight, on FL400, the HNS (with activated GPS) drifted 9nm (!). This was after flying a straight line with altitude hold engaged.
  9. Oh cool. I love those little additions, they really show the amount of love that goes into the JF.
  10. The C802-AK can use turn points, you need to set it up in the CNTL (subpage of SMS). They are number 30-35 in the DST page, so you can either input them manually, set them up via the F10 map, or create them via AG radar (my favorite).
  11. Why not make it a choice in the special options tab? The option to force it in the ME and also the option to set a default for the own aircraft? If the mission creator did not choose anything, the option form the special menu is used.
  12. Way to take something out of context. Saying that the best public source is Wikipedia, does not mean, that DEKA used Wikipedia as the source for their simulation. We at the very least know, that DEKA had access to simulators of the JF-17.
  13. Is it intended, that S2 right does nothing for TWS? It feels weird to have a HOTAS button that does nothing in this mode, even though it would be intuitive if it had the same function in all modes.
  14. I tested the new FM against a Tacview of the pre-patch SD-10. Launch conditions were similarish: Old: 27000 ft, Mach 0.87, distance 39.00 nm New: 27500 ft, Mach 0.92, distance 38.30 nm The SD-10 loses speed more quickly after the burst phase but overall it has a fairly similar performance, except that the Mach curve looks more believable, the old one was almost linear. The biggest loss of range will be due to the loss of battery life, especially when combined with the slightly slower missile.
  15. Are you really suggesting to "buff" the flight model of the JF-17 to FC3 levels, just so it is better for airquake?
  16. Does this mean due to smoke from rocket motors fired from the inboard pylons, which currently is not possible, or would this also affect missiles from the outer ones?
  17. Did we ever get an answer from Deka? I think I went over the entire thread and have not seen a single concrete yes or no from Deka regarding small munitions (Mk.82, Mk.20, GBU-12) on the inner pylons.
  18. It is a simulation, not just an airquake arena. Sometimes a Mk.20 is enough to take out a vehicle, a JSOW is not always necessary. Standoff weapons are cool, no question, but they are also heavy and draggy. Especially in the case of the JF, with its quite weak engine, carrying a light loadout is often better, especially if you want to maneuver. In the end, it is an option, one that would improve gameplay quite a bit, at least for some of us.
  19. Not everyone likes to fly with an overloaded super heavy loadout all the time. I know I can carry a lot of weapons in the JF, that does not mean you need to drop the most expensive weapons all the time on a target.
  20. 2 PL-5, 2 LD-10, 2 Mk.20, and a centerline tank would be a great light SEAD/DEAD loadout without to much weight.
  21. My understanding is that a Mk83 and Mk82 use the same connection, so if it can carry a single Mk83 on the inner stations, it should also be able to carry an Mk82.
  22. Has there been any word if Mk.82s and Mk.20s on the inner pylons will get implemented?
  23. The only thing that your graph shows, is that the SD-10 has a good guidance system modeled, while the one in the Aim-54 does a 10.5G turn, throwing away a lot of its speed and energy. So you are complaining, about the first and so far only missile in DCS that has good guidance and demand a nerf...
