  1. I hate to imagine the price tag on that thing. I know they run anywehre from $300-1000 more than DIY depending on the setup. I seen one I priced out on Newegg that was $3200 and Alienware wanted $4500. From what I can tell, you pay the extra for a fancy case.
  2. Server list only shows dedicated servers I think. So if you host a game from your PC they should not show up. You must have a pretty fast connection if you are hosting a game. I have a 15-30mb/s down and 4-8mb/s up and still have issues hosting mosting games.
  3. It's not a good idea to compare with BF2 since this is not BF3. BF3 is in development. This is a differnt game. BC2 is a sequal to a console game. It has some BF traits but it's differnt game from start to finish. I agree on the weapons though. It's odd and I'm not sure that will change in the final version. As for the LMG's for medic, yeah it's a bit overkill. They can toss a health pack next toe themselves and lay waist to a crowd and ther is not much you can do about it. It's not as bad in HC mode though since they are easier to take down.
  4. That vidoe was heavilly influenced by Tool vids.
  5. I have Race07. But I have not found any good classic mods for it.
  6. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy don't it.
  7. My rig Q6600 OC at 2.69ghz 4gb OCZ DDR2 PC800 at 950 eVGA GTX 260 overclocked at tweaked. I do not have exact numbers in front of me. All running on a eVGA 750i mobo. I get 30-50fps. The main bit of lag people are getting is from the testing of the server side software. So, it can be hit and miss. Again the is NOT a demo. It is a BETA. All betas have bugs. That's why they have beta testing. The main forcus accordign to DICE is to nail down the server code and fix ballancing issues. For the most part I have very few issues, but I only play on two servers most of the time.
  8. Might have to get rFactor since GT Legends does not like Vista 64.
  9. I think that's the only way as well.
  10. I with there was a way to see a GRB. From what I know so far, they are caused by supermassive black holes exploding. At least that's what I have read and seen. They are at the farthest edge of the universe and are the oldest parts. Prett much entire galaxies that have collapsed into the supper massive black hole in the center.
  11. I don't think this is possible. But, I could be wrong.
  12. I'm guessing the book talks about Gamma Ray bursts? that's about the nastiest thing from space I can think of. Very sudden and no warning. Pretty much instant death.
  13. It's not looking good for where I live in Minnesota. We are in direct path of the main ash fallout. Accordign to what I've seen on the subject, they expect my neck of the woods will have around 3-5 feet of ash when it's all said and done.
  14. I'm not sure how many here play the CoD games. I refuse to by any more aft the whole MW2 debacle, but the latest on the next game is that they are going to subscription based play like WoW. Here is a link to an article about it. http://xbox360.gamespy.com/xbox-360/call-of-duty-6/1068537p1.html
  15. That's a fun looking littel jet!
  16. It could be Dell, I was not sure. I build all my own systems and build them for others. It's cheaper and you don't get all that bloat software that comes with a store baught PC. The only ones still worth looking at are the companies that are pure performance companies. Like my buddies Darkside PC's, Voodoo, Falcon Northwest, and a few others. But you pay a bit more. On the plus side you get a stable overclocked rig that saves the time, some times days worth, of bumping then stress testing and bumping more.
  17. I have the SteelSeries head set. Really like them. For the most part, Alienware is overpriced crap. they are owned by Gateway now. At least I think it's Gateway. They lost everything thatt made Alienware great back in the day. Now they are just overpriced and bloated like any other mass built PC. You actually can build a better system for less. Unless you really want that case, build your own. I'm pretty sure those two devices are licenced copies of the other two as well. Alienware does not make any of thier own stuff any more.
  18. There is good old conquest mode. Each team starts at a given flag. The map has more scattered around. Objective, capture all the flags. You can hit them in any order. Depending on the map layout, there normally is not a flow direction really. Unless it's in a large valley. But even then you can take a choper and hit a flag midway or hit the farthest one. Really it's up to you. This is the standard mode in all BF games. Rush is a push style and is what you play in the beta. Basically one team attacks and the other team defend. Game ends when the defending team is pushed of the map or the attacking team runs out of respawn tickets. There is also a squad on squad mode I have read about. You will have four indapendant squads on the map. Each is there own team. The objective is the take out the other squads. I do not know much about this mode to be honest. Lastly there is supposed to be some vehicle capture mode. From what I gatehr there will be one tank or APC on the map and teams will fight over it. Winner is the one who can get it back to there base in one piece.
  19. Hardcore removess all screen icons except objective markers and freindlyies. Map, ammo count, enemies, and everything else is gone. No cross hairs either.
  20. The only way to returne to NAV on the hud is to reset. Aside from the ABRIS, all the systems tie togethor for the most part. If there is another way I have not read about it yet. I also do not think there is a way to lock the Shkval display. I'm not really sure why you would need to do this any way.
  21. The currents have stopped before. That's what caused the last ice age that ended about 10,000 years ago. The planet warms, the poles melt, fresh water filling the oceans messes up the deep see currents, this stops the flow of warm water to the north, this causes colling and another ice age. We have been through many cycles like this. At more than one point in the very early life of the planet it was totally covered in ice. Do a search for "snowball earth" and read all about it. This is part of what allowed life to evolve. Each "snowball" earth caused a huge boost in breathable oxygen. With this game the ability for primitive life to get more complex. I think the official count is 3 or 4 snowballs. I think. After that, it was to hot to happen again and all we get is ice ages when conditions where correct for it. We are in a turning point geologically for earth. We are starting a pole reversal, possibly the early stages of what will become the next ice age, we are nearing the due date for the next super eruption from the super volcano under Yellowstone Park. And also Mt Vesuvius is past due for it's next eruption. Interesting stuff to read about. Kinda scary too at time.
  22. My clan (Napalm Cowboys) has a server ordered already. As soon as the retail version is out it goes live. I will post the IP when it's up. We are pretty hardcore about banning the idiots from our servers. TKing on purpose is a quick way to a ban. Right now, all servers are beta servers being ran by the major providers out there. Maybe half a dozen companies world wide. Once we get are server up I expect it will be ran like our old servers. We want teamwork. We will probably have it in the more realistic hardcore mode as well. At least if I have any say it will be. :gun_sniper:
  23. Keep in mind, this is not a squal to BF2. BF3 is in development now. This is a sort of a spin off line in the world of BF.
  24. One multiplater map only.
  25. That's a bit extreme. It will never feel truely realistic as long as you are staring at a monitor. A little cross is much less intrusive than looking though a "window" at the cockpit.
