  1. Good finding, thanks! New hotas functions would be awesome! I think TTI are in the HUD already?
  2. That's what I'm saying, Ram. I found statements for both cases. I was looking for a fact that can eradicate doubts. In this thread's second page there is two sources saying different things. One says that ICLS is susceptible to pitching decks and the other says that is earth reference stabilized.
  3. Oh yes, definitely! I forgot about that.
  4. Yeah, me too. What other things can we actually expect? There was really not much left. I hope HOTAS gets updated too, TGP current hotas are missing stuff but are not public.
  5. Hey I just found this thread and since I'm a big fan of this topic I started to google as much as I could and I could find many references that indicate that the ICLS should be stabilized. But there are other places where it is indicated it should not. So does anyone know this as a fact? Can any former Hornet pilot confirm this in any way? This should not be classified at all I guess. Tomorrow I was going to test with the new SC and report a bug if it wasn't stabilized but now I don't know how it is IRL.
  6. I am so hoping mark points are implemented soon. ED doesn't realize how much it will improve the Hornet experience from a lot of points of view, not only TGP.
  7. Oh my god! The first tomcat landing was really scary. Were they actually seeing something?? What a tremendous discipline from all the crew and pilots. I guess the video doesn't represent well how much the LSO saw. In the video they talked like they see them but there is nothing there.
  8. So after so many good news in DCS I was wondering about last hornet mini update and see what others think. "Litening Targeting Pod will not include updates for LTD/R and LST (laser), automatic laser illumination, OFFSET cursor and AA mods. The features will be delivered with update for June 3rd." I don't know what to expect of that. What updates are left on the laser? What is offset cursor? What other things would come tomorrow? What do you guys think?
  9. Roger and thanks.
  10. Oooh, ok ok. So they land with landing lights off unless ordered different.
  11. Yeap, totally agree, that's why I was so interested in GB's insight. The other guy... well... got blocked. I still got an unanswered question, the one about the landing lights while landing at night. Aren't those supposed to be on?
  12. Yeah, sorry gripes, I hate that too usually, I just also hate people who reply with 0 intention to help others.
  13. IFLOS and ICLS that don't match IRL it's OK, but DCS is not simulating real life technical difficulties, it is just bugged. If you don't see a land runway at DA (PA) or MDA (NPA) then you do MA and possibly go to alternate AP. In the ocean you don't really have many choices to go to, so I was trying to learn how it is done IRL and assumed it was nothing like civilian/land operations. Capisce now?
  14. I can be surprised of whatever I feel like, sir. Whats the matter with you today? Take it easy. If I feel I have doubts of sea and carrier operation, then I can ask here, hopefully without any clown telling me what I should or should not know. GB was kindly explaining what I didn't understand, if you don't have anything useful to write, then please stay out of my way. I'm fairly new at the forums but these guys are the ones that get new customers away.
  15. Yeah, with more than 3000 hours I should be more specific in these forums, my apologies. I just didn't think anyone would understand that much, but it looks you are very keen in the subject.
  16. Planes don't land on the carrier with the landing lights on at night?
  17. Hey GB. Roger. Something I didn't understand was the thing about the taxi light. Afaik there is only a landing light switch in the hornet and my understanding as a pilot (only civilian) is that during any CASE III you would already have that on. What am I missing here?
  18. Hey, thanks for the IRL procedures detail. I don't see why you say that this conditions would be rare. The ocean is a very humid place and low visibility is very common. There are many videos online of carrer landings in low visibility conditions. Thanks.
  19. So if you have a couple of feet of visibility they will ask you to fly the ball? See what I'm saying now? That can't be right. Additionally, all the videos I see have a very disturbing difference between the ICLS and the IFLOS, which totally kills the procedure and makes you wonder which system you can trust.
  20. Are you still required to fly the ball in CASE III with low visib?
  21. I noticed on Redkite's SC video that when he was doing a Case III approach the ICLS needles and the IFLOS didn't match at all. Hope ED knows this issue.
  22. Yes, from the practical point of view you're right. But come on, this vapor thing that doesn't respect the existence of an object should be fixed for a module to be considered super. But yeah, I see what you mean.
  23. Yes exactly. It will be some time though until ED revisit this aspect, IF they agree their interpretation wasn't 100% correct.
  24. I'm quite shocked that the vapors from the catapults still go through the JBD like ghosts. It looks very unrealistic and reminds you of old games. Those aspects are key to a super module.
  25. Also, did anyone notice that the static truck wags put on the carrier came with some static people as well?
