Fly low... Bonne Année à tous !
  2. Yep, I have the same problem... What DCS folders can I delete prior to updating DCS, in order to free SSD space (80 Gb needed, but only 47 available...). Help needed, thanks.
  3. Hi Andrew, I don't know for the Essex, but the Clemenceau was created by Markindel (for FSX I think), and ported to DCS by the Cuesta Bros. It's bundled with a good Super Etendard attack fighter Mod. Unfortunately, there are no good escort destroyers Mods for a carrier group for that period (60's-80's), as far as I know. Fly low...
  4. Yes, you're both right. No multi-role, with only an A/A variant is quite strange, considering that one of the foremost advantages of the Rafale is its multi-role capability. I don't know about the Mirage 2000 licence, but I guess this could put the developers in serious trouble if they don't have it. Fly low...
  5. Hi, Dassault will certainly watch this new Rafale Mod closely. However, depending on the FM used and the weapons available, and their implemented characteristics, this might not be a very big problem. Further, this Mod depends on the Mirage 2000 HUD (and avionics ?). So, there might be strong limitations on the radar and missile efficiency. So, let's wait and evaluate it. I'll stick personally for a long time to the Cuesta Bros Rafale because of the nice 3D model and the superb liveries made available by Sushy. Thanks guys for all your amazing hard work ! Fly low...
  7. That's really good news, Sushy ! I really look forward to see the Suffren sailing in DCS. That's very exciting because we can see today it is currently moored and statically protecting the Navy seals training school in Saint Mandrier. Many thanks for your work in this ship area, after your many excellent Rafale liveries and loads. Very impressive, indeed.
  8. Yes, you're right. Nevertheless, Admiral's Constellation frigate is somehow quite new, as well as the HMS Duncan. And I totally agree with you that Admiral's Mods are perfects assets for playing numbers of scenarii wrt to the limitations of DCS and of unclassified characteristics of the ships. Further, the impressive work done by Admiral definitely extends the DCS arena beyond simple naval playgrounds. There was a good model for the Suffren frigate developed for FSX, and quite good 3D models around. But the development a Mod for DCS remains to be done, unfortunately. The last message I saw from the developer Sebastien of the FSX model (call sign "rafalemirage") dates back to 2015, sadly.
Fly low....
  10. One of the good thing wtih combat simulators is that they support new scenarii that can be imagined, layed down, explored, run unlimited times and refined. IMHO, it's at least as interesting as recreating histotical scenarii, the outcome of which we already know. We can't reinvent the past. But prospective studies help us to imagine the future, and be prepared, as much as possible. My largest scenario involves fierce naval and air battles in the Persian Gulf, including a 2 hours pursuit of an allied amphibious group, protected by 3 carriers and their escorts. They are chased by 2 enemy carrier groups. The outcome, with respect to DCS limitations, is quite interesting...
  11. Hi, the French and the Greek Navy have ordered several of these already. The first one is currently being built.
  12. Hi, Public Relations visit on the H. Truman carrier. Thanks to Sushy for all his superb liveries. Fly low...
  13. Hi Scotty, there is a Predator MQ-9 Predator drone Mod from Eric and Patrick Cuesta... The only flyable and armed drone that I am aware of in DCS. It's fitted with a TV pilot station on he ground. Fly low...
  14. I totally agree : the Fletcher class Destroyers for example (for which there is an excellent Mod) have 2 multiple torpedo launchers and are excellent ASW platforms that are unusable so far. Thanks ED... Cheers.
  15. Thanks Morpheus and Joey, I did comment that line out, and all is fine. Toan
  16. I strongly support this ASW statement. Good point, Toni.
  17. Bonjour, Will this new 005 version of the Mod be compatible with DCS 2.5.6 ? As far as I know, version 003 is... Thanks guys ! Toan Edit 09-12-2021 : well, I tried the 004 version on DCS 2.5.6, and it works well. Excellent job, guys ! You are the best ! Maybe it's because I still use the 2.5.6 version of DCS, I have the same problem as Requin Mike Luke mentioned, I can't load the Meteor on the rear fuselage positions, next to the engines. But your last post and picture seems to show that you have solved the problem. Many thanks again !... Thanks also to Sushy for his superb liveries ! Fly low...
  18. The lock_player_interaction (...) line is at the end of the db_ships.lua file, in the Hermes69/Database folder. Can I delete this line with no side-effect ? Superb Mod ! Thannks Joey.
  19. Indeed, the air intake is also different on the photos : it has a sharp entry, while it is straight on the Mod. Good point Furiz.
  20. Hi All, The Hermes lua file contains a last line that looks like this : "lock_player_interaction("CCentaurClass_1969")". Can anybody tell us what this line does ? Thanks, Toan
Superb work, guys ! Very impressive ! Thanks to all of you for your amazing and unique contributions so far : Clemenceau and Charles de Gaule carriers, Super Etendard and Rafale fighters. They can be complemented by the superb Mods by Admiral189 (D650 Aquitaine), Damien (Super-Frelon, Alouette 3 and Panther helicopters), and Mario (Durance oiler)... and more nice surprises to come....
  22. Super ! Many thanks Marroux, Toan
  23. Hi Joey, Thanks for the pointer. How do you install that large ship wake ? Also, what is that aircraft carrier ? Is it downloable somewhere ? Thanks, Toan
  24. Hi Pappy2, I fully support your request. Does there exist a downloadable 3D model of the Suffren somewhere ? This is the required first step for designing a new Mod for DCS. Otherwise, designing such a 3D model is a huge task, clearly out of reach for anyone during spare time, unfortunately. Fly low...
