rrohde Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Good news indeed! I was eying a Fat Mamba for the longest time, and it seems that VKB finally has a distributor in the US: http://www.gostratojet.com/ Next week I am going to order these VKB T-Rudder Pedals Mk. III, and ultimately I hope to get the Fat Mamba to complement the pedals. So, VKB - how a bout a cool Su-27-like throttle now? ;) PC: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X | MSI Suprim GeForce 3090 TI | ASUS Prime X570-P | 128GB DDR4 3600 RAM | 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD | Win10 Pro 64bit Gear: HP Reverb G2 | JetPad FSE | VKB Gunfighter Pro Mk.III w/ MCG Ultimate VKBcontrollers.com
Rangi Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I'm interested in a VKB joystick too, does anyone know of an Australian or Pacific distributor? The postage from EU seems excessive. PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.
Sokol1_br Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 So, VKB - how a bout a cool Su-27-like throttle now? ;) VKB say that have two throttle models in development - not necessarily "Su-27" like...

Maybe with a pic or two? :music_whistling: PC: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X | MSI Suprim GeForce 3090 TI | ASUS Prime X570-P | 128GB DDR4 3600 RAM | 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD | Win10 Pro 64bit Gear: HP Reverb G2 | JetPad FSE | VKB Gunfighter Pro Mk.III w/ MCG Ultimate VKBcontrollers.com
RFC Rudel Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 think time you loose in crap joys, time you loose fix the crap things, then the broke for god. FINAL SOLUTION quality spare parts
Harle Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Nice! Do you have a reference link...? Maybe with a pic or two? :music_whistling: No pics just yet. Just a couple of messages on the russian forum that 2 variants of throttle are in initial stage of development.
rrohde Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 I pre-ordered the MkIII Fat Mamba yesterday! Really looking forward to it, and some upgrades (extension, different grips, etc) down the line. VsetciPokapu Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Somebody with any experiences with Black Mamba? I have to buy a stick and I´d like to get some advice. Is it comparable with Warthog? 295 EUR for flight-stick only is not a little but I really like the design. Does anybody have some advice for throttle-stick for it? Thanks
rrohde Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Is it comparable with Warthog? Thanks Well, VKB's Mamba is only a single stick, so no throttle comes with it. However, where it seems to be above Warthog stick quality is it's new all-metal gimbal. From what I understand, Thrustmaster uses plastic components where it matters most, while VKB uses metal instead. Sokol1_br Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 VsetciPokapu If you want you can buy only VKB Mamba base - without Cobra M5 grip - and use for example a Cougar/Warthog grip, with/without their ~20 cm extension. The extension came with different set of springs for compensate the Cougar/Warthog grip extra weight (~600 grs). In Q1 2016 VKB should announce two models of throttle. This Mamba Mk.III will by in pre-sales until December, 10 only. Is the final batch of this model.
hansangb Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Hmm, didn't know I could stick my Warthog grip on it. Interesting. Harle Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) Hmm, didn't know I could stick my Warthog grip on it. Interesting. Thanks hsb This feature had been there all along (by means of an adapter). But warthog's heavy stick didn't go well with the pincer-type mechanism in the base. The stick felt limpy and leaned forward under its own weight. I had to add some more springs to keep it centered, but it resulted in a way too jumpy transition across the axis center. So I decided to leave it in default configuration with the default stick. Hopefully this new cam mechanism will let us use such heavy sticks comfortably without the above mentioned problem. Rogue Trooper Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Anyone had experience with this new gimbal or at least felt its movement? HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled. DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!. Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.
Harle Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Anyone had experience with this new gimbal or at least felt its movement? VKB staff members, I suppose.

And so I used the spring mod on my warthog to make it a light touch joystick. will keep an eye on this device. VsetciPokapu Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Is there any other reason to change the stick (for Warthog) except the stick-design? Is the standard Mamba stick worse in any view?
hansangb Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 And how is the programming software? does it support scripts or is it GUI only? hsb hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
Harle Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Is there any other reason to change the stick (for Warthog) except the stick-design? Is the standard Mamba stick worse in any view? 1) the stick is made of plastic (nice to the touch though) 2) buttons/hats don't feel as good as in TM Warthog (except for the grigger) 3) flying A-10 you'll have to assign modificators on the two hats to make it four like in TM Warthog. That's all the cons I can think of.
NeilWillis Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 The base has to be worth a look, those metal gimbals look bulletproof. Definitely something to watch closely.
Harle Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) And how is the programming software? does it support scripts or is it GUI only? hsb The configurator allows for pretty much everything one might possibly want to do with a joystick. It took me a while to get a hang of it. As for the scripts, I'm not sure what you mean. Macros? Edited November 28, 2015 by Harle
hansangb Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 GUI based programming tends to get old quickly if you're trying to configure 5-10 aircraft. So using a text based script files would make it much easier to modify and add on to. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
Harle Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Nope. They say it can be tuned by means of the configurator app only. Various profiles can be created though.
