Mechino Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 (edited) Is anyone else having issues with steam vr crashing everytime within five minutes of loading DCS since the latest Steam VR update? Any game within steam works fine just DCS out of steam, it had worked fine for months before the last update on 31 Jan. D4n Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Try SteamVR experimental build maybe? (Properties of SteamVR in Steam library) DCS Wishlist: 2K11 Krug SA-4 Ganef SAM, VR-TrackIR icons next to player names in score-chart PvP: 100+ manual player-kills with Stingers on a well known dynamic campaign server - 100+ VTOL FARP landings & 125+ hours AV-8B, F-14 crew, royal dutch airforce F-16C - PvP campaigns since 2013 DCS server-admins: please adhere to a common sense gaming industry policy as most server admins throughout the industry do. Joker_1 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Would like to revive this thread as I spent about an hour troubleshooting the same exact issue last night. Eventually restarting my pc forced a steam update and I THINK that fixed it. I also updated a Windows 10 patch so that may have fixed it also. marcoscosta Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 You use the fpsVR? It's broken after the last update, if it is loaded the SteamVR crashs after 5 minutes. Thorgs Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 You use the fpsVR? It's broken after the last update, if it is loaded the SteamVR crashs after 5 minutes. With fpsVR off it still behaves exactly the same. (SteamVR crashes) This is what i posted in another post to this issue. Happens to me too with the newest DCS Update. Tested with the SteamVR Stable and Beta on the Valve Index. On Syria SteamVR randomly crashes and once yesterday on Caucasus it happened while closing the mission and returning to the main menu. While on Syria I had the Taks-Manager running in the background and checked the RAM usage after the crash and in the on case I looked at it the RAM usage was 32GB of 32GB before crashing. Maybe some kind of Memory Leak???? Or just bad luck with this Version of the Syria Map (Beta). Every other VR Game runs fine. RedeyeStorm Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 I do not have this issue. Using Valve Index myself. Using standard SteamVR and having zero crashes.
Stal2k Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 I'm having this issue, Valve Index as well using latest NVidia drivers. The error code is -203, does that track what others are seeing? RedeyeStorm are you using latest nvidia drivers? Maybe a rollback could help. I will say it only seems to happen on missions that are pretty heavy. For example a mission generated by the DCS liberation campaign will do it. We loaded up a fairly dense one and I crashed maybe 4x pretty frequently until we cleared some of the units.

Folgers Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 WMR beta plugin also got an update addressing SteamVR crashes, so make sure you have that updated as well. That stopped my SteamVR crashes.
