There is a way of doing it by converting the diagrams into pictures and creating multiple panels.

Pretty straight forward, if need a short guide can be written

that would be great if you could do that i know your very busy with the project but if you could slot the short guide in at your leasure much appreciated

Rather simple.

First, you have to make sure each page in PDF (ones you want) is stored as image. All you have to do then is to create panels for them. Only a question of layout then.

Maybe I can do it for you over this week and when I'm done with my profile :D Maybe just send me a PM with how you imagined the positions of the panel(s)/image(s).

I have found a way to allow PDF's to be loaded into HawgTouch without affecting the CPU at all.

In the next version I will "expand" the NOTEPAD feature. A functionality will be added to load PDF's into a designated HawgTouch window. You will be able to load multiple PDF's aswell if you desire :)

Also coming in the next version is remote keystrokes feature. With the addition of highly detailed gauges HawgTouch became a slightly heavier. You can offload gauges to a second PC right now but you loose all interactive switches which utilize data export.

So in the next version you will be able to send keys to the main HawgTouch instance (where A-10 is running) and relay these keys to the game.

This is what I came up so far but I will re-arrange a bit - I plan to make AHCP in the right corner.

Also I managed to extract the AHCP panel and overlay a text, but it seems I can't find the shaped AHCP switches textures.

Maybe paulrkiii or someone else can help me here? :D

I think we need to open the .EDM file in the Shape folder to get the switch models! But I dont know how to open them, yet. There is a export ( :( )plugin for 3dsmax !2008! but I dont have that OLD version...

that is a great progress to functionnality and ergonomy (and still a lack in Helios) ! It was an advantage of touchbuddy extensions ! Great for mission briefs, maps, helps and charts !!!

competition breeds innovation.:smilewink:

yes of course ! I don't dream of a mega organization stopped in efficiency because of its size and administrative stuffs...

but it is not an oposition to team work.

in a good team you need some competition to gain emulation and progress...

and a team is (generally) more powerfull than some individuals...

therefore don't make too quickly some politics shortcuts about what I said please... :smilewink:

(moreover here is not the place for politics debates

and forums spirit is about helping and exchanging)

Some updates:

I have completed the netcode for HawgTouch new mode. Server Mode.

In HawgTouch 1.5, an extended network overhaul has been made to support multiple HawgTouch clients to interact and receive data over the network.

The new server mode allows you to specify a list of clients you want it to send the data to. All the exported data from the sim will be sent to all the specified clients.

The server mode launches a small monitor window that will allow you to see incoming and outgoing traffic and also show you the list of clients the server sends data to.

330bdjk.png

You can now load a profile in 2 methods. Either "Local" or "Remote".

Local mode will launch the profile on the machine, receive exported data and send keystrokes to the game.

Remote mode is needed if you want to load a profile on a remote machine while the main machine (where A-10C is running) is running HawgTouch in a server mode.

This allows for complete offloading of the profile from the main machine. HawgTouch running in Server mode on the game machine consumes only 8MB of memory and a fraction of CPU. Linking HawgTouch remote profiles (as many as you want) is becoming easy!

Watch this demonstration:

Setup in this video -

10.0.0.1 - Main PC running DCS A10C - Running HawgTouch 1.5 in server mode, configured to send data to 10.0.0.3,10.0.0.7

10.0.0.3 - My roommates PC, Hard wired to network, she's running WinXP32 - Running 1.3 Features profile in "Remote" mode, configured to send data to 10.0.0.1

10.0.0.7 - Laptop, Wireless connection to LAN, running Win7 x64 - Running 1.3 Features profile in "Remote" mode. configured to send data to 10.0.0.1

Also, as promised. An extended NOTEPAD control now supports user defined PDF's and customizable size.

Last feature that will be implemented before release is the ILS/TACAN repeater gauges!

HawgTouch 1.5 coming veeeeeeeeery soon :)

First of all, thank you ClearDark for sharing this great program free of charge.

I have a problem that I'm hoping you can help with. None of the gauges will show on my system, even using the supplied xml files. It appears to be some kind of z-buffer problem because I can briefly see the gauges when I click on the button for the tab. This is kind of hard to explain but I see a big solid color rectangle where the gauges should be. If I click repeatedly on the button for the gauge tab then I get kind of a shutter effect where the solid rectangle disappears for a split second and the gauges show through. They are working, I can see them moving as they should if I click fast enough. This is on Windows XP x64 edition. Any clues?

TIA

CDU

First of all: thanks a lot for your program. I use it a lot.

I had some time today and made a CDU from screenshots using photoshop today.

attachment.php?attachmentid=50403&stc=1&d=1303139748

Its not yet fully tested and I will propably edit it and make the screen a little bigger but it should work.

It uses the modifiers {RCONTROL} + {LCONTROL} and {RCONTROL} + {LCONTROL} + {RALT} with all alphanumeric keys besides Z and Y.

Everyone feel free to test it, if there are any questions pls write me a PM.

I do not give any guarantees that this won't mess up any button configurations / hawgtouch or something else.

We would perhaps need to know a bit more about your set-up, but perhaps try setting your video card to use 'application settings' for AA and the like. I had a similar thing once with Black shark where my cockpit disappeared because I was letting ATI control my antialiasing

Thanks for the reply. I have tried all combinations of settings on my Nvidia GTX 460 with no effect. Is there a more appropriate forum/method for HawgTouch support? I don't want to hijack this thread with my little problem.

ClearDark, correct me if I'm wrong, it was a while back tbh.

I thought I saw a post from you on a thread saying that you had seen a possible method of sending button presses ie cdu panel from HAWG Touch into A10c without mapping keystrokes. Was I mistaken? That would be really cool.

It is indeed possible, through UDP, to send commands to the server which will trigger an action in the cockpit without any "key" binding.

I intend to include such feature in one of the next iterations of HawgTouch. It requires mapping the entire cockpit and extensive testing. So I keep it for later on when we get more people using the software and finding issues :)

Strange. Are the buttons clickable (do they move when you click them) ?

Yes, move! Modifiers are assigned properly, but the game does not work!
