[REPORTED]A-A Tacan bugged?

Recommended Posts

I've set up a training map with a lot of aircrafts selectable, a lot of ground and air units and also four carriers and four tankers.

However, I have been inside the useable Tacan frequencies and still have an interesting problem:

Carrier 1: 94X

Carrier 2: 98X

Carrier 3: 95X

KC-130: 55Y

KC-135 MPRS: 58Y

KC-135 Boom: 61Y

S-3B: 63Y

When I'm in the aircraft and want to use Tacan, the results are as followed:

Same with Hornet, Harrier, A10C and Mirage 2000:

Carrier 1: 94X T/R -> fine (bearing & range)

Carrier 2: 98X T/R -> fine (bearing & range)

Carrier 3: 95X T/R -> fine (bearing & range)

KC-130: 55Y A/A -> fine (bearing & range)

KC-135 MPRS: 58Y A/A -> nothing / 55X -> fine (bearing & range)

KC-135 Boom: 61Y A/A -> nothing / 55X -> fine (bearing & range)

S-3B: 63Y A/A -> othing / 63X -> fine (bearing & range)

Interesting fact:

If I switch to the following:

KC-130 58Y & KC-135MPRS 55Y, then I need to select for both the X channel to get them working?!

So guys, can you please help me out what I'm doing wrong?

Or is there a problem with Tacan / A-A TR / Tankers in general?

Thank you very much!

I have problems getting TACAN ranges for tankers lately. I usally use TACAN channels between 47Y and 57Y for my tankers and I do get a bearing, but the range is missing.

No, you are indeed not. This issue exists since Hornet Release or 2.5. I don't really remember. Probably just not high up on their list.

It stands in line with other issues/bugs concerning tanker.

Tanker setting you up for the wrong hose first.

Tanker not extending the hoses and being ready before you are in the stern position.

Tanker flying at the wrong altitudes when the air pressure/temperature deviates from standard.

Tanker initiating turns with a rather high roll rate while not giving you a heads up first.

Hi all

TACAN not behaving correctly on Y band has been reported

We also have other TACAN related issues reported including conflicting stations on the Persian Gulf.

thanks
