Gierasimov Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Set helo speeed and alt in ME but it does its own flying instead. Either faster or slower and always higher to what is set in ME. MarkLazzo Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 It could be the wind set in weather tab.. I had same results a few months ago, if I remember correctly if I had no wind it was fine, not sure though Inviato dal mio Lenovo P2a42 utilizzando Tapatalk
Flappie Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 I've just tested the mission and I think I know what's happening: the helicopter is too close to the carrier and the pilot gets a bit scared. He gains some altitude to avoid a collision. Take him away from the carrier (350m is OK / less than 300m is not OK) and he will stick at an altitude of 30m. ---
Gierasimov Posted August 23, 2020 Author Posted August 23, 2020 @ MarkLazzo - thing is that it was working absolutely fine prior to the update. @ Flappie - thanks for your effort Flappie. Yeah I noticed the same, but just as said above, it was fine prior to the last update. OK for collision avoidance but speed is driving me nuts. Not even getting it correct when I lock the waypoint time to correspond to the boat waypoint time. I am fine if this is intended, but surely this should be communicated via chnge notes if it was and reported as bug if it wasn't. Flappie Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 The carrier seems unable to go past 50 kph (it cannot reach the 56 kph you ask for). You have to limit the aircraft speed to 50 kph and it will stay next to the carrier. Just remember you have to modify both initial speed (WP 0) and current waypoint speed (WP1). ---
dorianR666 Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 (edited) if its above ground effect altitude, hovering can cause vortex ring state. helis need some speed to get translational lift and not get caught into VRS. so the AI is probably programmed to have minimum speed below which it wont slow down unless landing or so. dorianR666 Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 here, from mi-8 manual. you might be forcing the heli to fly in the left red area. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600X GPU: AMD RX 580
