is it even possible to make the large air cones that you have to fly through in a mission editor?

I was attempting to make a race course for black shark a while back, and I was just using the T.V. towers.

I added hundreds of them, cuz i was trying to make it feel like a closed course, but it was more than she (the game) could handle and subsequently crashed.

As long as you space them out far enough, and dont over do it, the TV towers should work fine for a race.

Dont let the smell get to ya...............

TBH, for racing, I think the coolest way to do it would be on a multiplayer sever where everyone logs in - but the server is paused. And when everyone is in, the server unpausing is the start, whereupon the contenstants are not only to fly the circuit fast as devils - they also have to be quick with starting the helicopter from cold at the beginning.

Bit like those good old Le Mans running starts where the race would start with the drivers running to their cars and starting them.

(Question for the initiated - does Tacview work online? It would be a handy tool to be able to make absolutely certain that no-one cheated even if it is not possible to have judges within line-of-sight all the time.)

I was doing some crazy fun flying, which turned out to be quite interesting :joystick: :D

Superb flying, very uncanny control. Whenever I try any extreme manuevers, invariably my blades collide and the shows over. Guess I need better collective control before I try anything too daring.

Thanks :)

It took some time for me aswell to find the limits, and I still (literally) break the limit quite frequently.

To give you a little tip though, dropping the collective during maneuvers and low (fuel) weight helps a lot to reduce stress on the rotor blades.

Keyboard flying

this is me after 3 months+ with no black shark flying at all because of immense workload. Didn't even bother plugging in the joystick or messing with FreeTrack and just thought, what the heck - I can fly this baby anyway...

Actually turned out quite well but could hardly remember any of the procedures for start up or shut down (especially shut down, always crash before I get this far hehe :music_whistling:).

Nothing fancy at all and I'd be amazed if there is actually someone interested in watching this.

Short talk-through:

I start the machine up, asking for proper permissions etc..

Take her to the runway

Control hover (with keyboard! not very easy)

Takeoff

Fly for 1-2min and then land back on runway (semi-rough, still with keyboard u know=)

taxi back to starting point

First time ever I've flown with keyboard only; I really miss proper collective control
