CBU-105 : "ALN UNS"

I always get this message (in 1.1.0.9) when i rearm and load for example a cbu-105 on a station where there was previously none. Then in the dsms under my CBU it says "ALN UNS" instead of "RDY" and i cant drop it. What do I have to do to make it "RDY"?

It's just saying that it loads up the target coordinates.

WCMD relies on a so-called Transfer Alignment, which requires aircraft movement to accomplish. Specifically, it requires heading change. It generally will not attain RDY status until the aircraft is taxied (and turned at least 90 degrees). If you sit in the EOR for a prolonged period, WCMDs can revert to ALN UNS status due to degraded transfer alignment.

Just deviate slightly from your flight patch, ie Jinx left or right and they'll align.

Uhhh, do 3 different passes over the same target count? Cause it never aligned for me...

As I said, jinx left/right and then back onto your flight path and they will align, alternatively post a track if you're still having issues.

I have the same problem here, i've tried twisting and turning, jinking left and right, but it always says ALN UNS with all my GPS weapons.

End Of Runway. It's where the final arming and system checks are completed. Literally, it's a portion of the taxiway near the end of the runway.

I don't get it aligned either. I had a hung store and reloaded it but now it doesn't align and always "FAIL"s.

Ok, I'm still having the problem. So here is the track. I also admit there will be some boneheaded errors, such as starting the APU with ground power already on and just ignoring calling the tower for permissions. But if I am just ignoring something that prevents JDAMs from working properly let me know. Any help will be appreciated.

Be sure to toggle Navigation mode from HARS to EGI on the NMSP. More importantly as to why you are not getting the JDAM's to align, be sure to allow for full EGI INS alignment at startup (approx 4 min and complete when 'INS NAV RDY' flashes) on CDU. Only then is is safe to taxi to active - not before.

Can we get a confirmation on this? If it's true, it explains the last 30 minutes I spent in the sim. If it's not true, then I guess I'm just kinda dumb. :P

Does JDAM alignment depend on the INS's alignment?

Yes, completed ground alignment or in flight alignment must be done. In short, you have to be aligned.. :)

Can someone post a checklist or something? I would think something that requires extra steps on start up would get more of a treatment than a bullet point on a patch note.

I have (had) the same issue. I haven't figured out the in flight alignment yet, but sometimes after doing the full 4 minute ground align my jdams still say ALN UNS. I can usually fix this by clearing and reloading the store...

They will.

The 4min ground alignment aligns your airframe - nothing to do with your JDAM's. Once In-Flight, it takes manoeuvring your airframe as well in order to get the JDAM's aligned.
