Diveplanes (AWACS) Mod

will be releasing a mod for awacs flyables

 

=A50 Mainstay

=E-3A Sentry

 

player will have full control of the aircrafts.

 

 

other things to note.

 

freeware = yes

3d cockpits = no

multiplayer compatible = yes

player control radar = no

once the aircraft takes off the ai takes control and the radar becomes active,

even when a human player is flying the awacs jet.

chaff flare = yes

 

screens below during testing dcs world 1.2.0. this mod should work also with FC3 when it arrives.

that sounds amazing! will it be the SU-25T cockpit? also do they feel like flying a heavy plane and behave like them? great work!

 

 

yes nothing much can be done about the su25t cockpit for now but there is a workaround for now ingame.

maybe later on this mod could be expanded into somthing even bigger radar stations and fully 3d cockpit.

workaround is left alt+F1 key stroke , this will remove the su25t cockpit for now, give us a basic hud for flying the big jets.

Since were flying big jets here, any thoughts of being able to fly a KC-135? I would assume the "AI" would still control the boom section of it, but at least flying it would be fun.

Looks cool, It would be good if you could find a player controlled way to turn the radar on and off.

already had a look sadly it does not work atm.

 

ai does not engage the boom,rules out flying the tankers for now.

try release this for everyone next day or so.

 

will be modman ready.

 

.........some of the things to note with this mod

 

radar = ai controlled once u take off

animations for wheels engine fan blades radar dome = static

flares chaff = all work

animations for rudder ailerons elevators speed brakes = all work and move in sync to players keyboard or joystick inputs.

using left alt and f1 key will hide the su25t cockpit for flying.

flight dynamics =very basic flying model.

multiplayer mission included in package.

atc radios not functioning atm.

full 3d cockpit = nope uses default su25t cockpit

 

"this mod has no connetion to eagle dynamics = "dont ask them for help or questions on it". install at your own risk.

Diveplane when you say radar is AI controlled does the mean they just get the dome spinning? I would suspect we would be using the F10 key to locate enemy aircraft. Also I would hope that when FC3 comes in that having the awacs up will still extend the fighters radar picture.
